You asked for it and later this week we’re delivering on it. We are making significant enhancements to the way you view your trophies online. Check out the walk-thru video so you can see these updates first hand.
Here’s what you’ll be able to do:
- View detailed info on your trophies on PlayStation.com
- Compare your trophies with multiple friends and other PSN ID’s
- Compare details on trophies within each game
- Track your progress to the next level against friends
- See what trophies you have and what you still need to unlock for each game
- Use the sorting features to plan your game domination
In addition, the portable ID has been enhanced with trophy data so you’ll also be able to take your portable ID with you to official game sites, social networks and other third party sites making it easier to show off your trophies and gamer status with friends online. Your PlayStation Network Portable ID will link directly to your public trophy page on us.PlayStation.com.
PLEASE PUT IN GLOBAL TROPHY LEADERBOARDS!!!!!

Looks like my last message got moderated because of mentioning a 360 site that gives better service *cough*endwithgamercard.net* cough*
Basically, even with these upgrades Sony PS.COM will be a step behind its competition.
1. Why can’t they make it so you don’t have to login to use these features? So you could actually link up your in-depth trophy profile through your sig portable i.d.?
2. Why no Trophies Leaderboards?
3. Where is the ability to add friends and message them through ps.com?
So when will we be able to delete trophies or,even better, disable them altogether.
why can’t it look like this on a PS3?
Nice feature enhancements, sure, but it’s still no substitute for a public API to access this information from 3. party applications and sites.

I was thinking.
What would be really cool for the PSN, is if we could select one of our earned trophy icons as our avatars.
That way you could show it off that hard Killzone 2 platinum you earned to everyone.
Any possibilities on this ever happening?

We want to share IDEAS with you to improve PlayStation 3 and the PS NETWORK.
Some of the features are cool and all, but i’m sorry. The “Portable ID” is still extremely basic compared to what is already offered by others. Take this service for example:

It generates a trophy card that is a thousand times better then anything that Sony officially offers. The background changes depending on what the last trophy you got was, and the site also offers a leaderboard service.
Seriously Sony, take a hint… Other people have created a portable ID that is a thousand times better, with a fraction of the funding. They aren’t a multi-billion dollar company, yet their creations are way better. Why?

It’s great about the portable PSN ID, but what about BBcode. There are still forums that use BBcode what why can’t we have a BBcode for the PSN ID. The Europe psn offer both types, so I can the US. HTLM is ok, but there are more forms than that. Can we have a BBcode too.
i would really enjoy being able to remove a game from my trophy list that is at 0% have not touched Socom in ages the trophies are ridiculous and i do not even want to look at such a crappy game’s title.
I couldn’t tell from the video if my profile page will be viewable by anyone. I believe this wasn’t the case in the past. It seems like free advertising and a more convincing argument for non-PS3 owners, if they could view their friends’ profiles and get a taste of what PS3 has to offer. Further, that page should be linked to in the Portable ID code. Comparisons and such can remain accessible only by signing in.

This is really cool stuff. It has been awhile since we have seen a major PSN update. If rumors are true though that I am hearing then looks like it wont be much longer. Looking forward to it!

Though… it would be cool to have trophy leaderboards both on Playstation.com AND on the PS3…
And be able to sort them by worldwide, region, and just friends list… And even take it by game, amount of trophies, or overall trophy level/percentage…

@226: I can’t close my eyes… because I’ll get pestered when I have a trophy that people want to ask about how I managed to snag it and its annoying as crap. Not to mention I’d like a friend to do a trophy check on my account, and a message to display “This user has deactivated trophy support.” So those who want to do a trophy comparison will remove me and people who actually competing for hi scores in games like Namco Museum Essentials, or Time Attack in racing titles like Ridge Racer 7 or Wipeout HD.
Please inform us when a trophy disable function becomes available, it will make my PS3 experience 1000x better than it has become.

I hate this trophy thing, not this update, just in general.. you often have to do things that are repetitive and unnatural. One of the worst ideas ever for games.
I trade ALL this site features for a public API to access trophy information from games and players.
I have an project underway, and if needed I’ll get the data by the same way that ps3trophycard.com does.

i just wish that the Portable ID would also show the games you’ve played recently.
similar to how the Portable ID’s the European users have.
