Gamescom Show Floor Report: LittleBigPlanet PSP

67 0

Stationed on a seesaw in the PlayStation booth at Gamescom 09 was Sackboy, alongside stations of LittleBigPlanet PSP. As you know, a lot of LittleBigPlanet news came out of Gamescom in Cologne including the PS3 Game of the Year edition and the water gameplay addition.

But it wasn’t all about LBP PS3 in Germany, and we found SCE Studio Cambridge Development Director James Shepherd to walk us through what’s new in LBP PSP at Gamescom, including details on Create mode, on-the-go level inspiration and more.

  • cant wait for this as a psp junky i would love a game to last more than two weeks.

  • I guess we know why there has been so little new real content for the PS3 version from devs lately aside from silly costumes. They’ve been working on the PSP version of the game and kinda forgetting about the console version.

  • looks awesome!!! I want a giant sackboy.

  • No ad-hoc? No party.

I mean, if no ad-hoc this game is absolutely worthless.

    No ad-hoc = no purchase.

  • i want to play this game on the go.

  • Is there going to be a demo? If there is can u tell me how to get it. I want to try the game. (looks sweet!)

  • I can’t wait for this game. I am purchasing a PSPgo just for this. I would like to see more details of this game in Sack it to Me. Too bad it does not have multi-player. And I hope that they will support this game as good as Mm does with the PS3 version. I would like to see the Piantinator in this game.

  • I WANT NOW!!!!!!! release date please also

  • Nice watch Chris :o

  • Why can other PSP games have multiplayer but not this one? My guess is memory constraints. Even though PSP 2000-3000 & Go! have 64MB of memory. The original only had 32MB. LBP on PS3 on the other hand has 256MB reserved for games. It is also obvious LBP is a memory hog with all the textures it needs to have instant access to (let alone the physics engine) in order for a fast frame rate.
So if they want it to work on all PSP’s their hands are tied.

  • @ r0bbyc

Then let PSP2k, 3k and Go! owners enjoy it.

  • Can’t wait for this! Thank you Mm!

The lack of multiplayer isn’t that bad. Just create a level, pass it to as many friends and PSPs around you and compete for the highest score. It’d be cool to have more survival challenge than the PS3 version.

Is the game going to include Leaderboards? That’d be great! Also, DLC? Can it be as robust? Like adding new tools/weapons or level packs?

How much is this going to be?

Water looks awesome, by the way. Keep up the good work!

  • the game is beter without mp

  • i wanna be your friend chris morell. You seem like a really cool guy

  • I heard that Europe or Japan or maybe both will have a LittleBigPlanet PSP Bundle, which includes LittleBigPlanet PSP, and a Turquoise PSP. It’s a shame they never make LBP bundles in the u.s!!!!!!

  • They shud make it 2 disc 1 disc has da game and u create levels on it then save it to memory sticks or sav it online then u put other disc in and u can play those games u created online

  • When will the demo for this game come out on the playstation network? I can’t wait for this game!
