  • to whoever runs the ps store: QUIT! How are you guys expecting to earn money if the store content is inconsistent. every week for over 2 years we’ve asked about more psp/ps1 games, new avatars, more videos of upcoming titles, and of course more demos (it seems new psn games are out yet very few have demos). Do you guys want profit or sympathy?

  • For the love of god when is Zombie Apocalypse coming to the PSN!!

  • @150

Thank you, I couldn’t said it better myself.

  • Paying $3 for a theme seems overpriced. The “regular” paid themes should be all less than $1 and these like 1.99 max. I mean they are just themes. I haven’t bought a theme and I won’t, just seems like a waste of money. I bought a lbp costume pack and I felt like that was a waste at $3 lol. So no themes for me, but I don’t really care.

Half of the time with themes the background is too white and you can’t read anything anyways. So you really need to allow users to change the font color to black.

As for avatars, I see why people complain. We’ve had like 1 update in over 3 years of avatars. I mean like people say it really shouldn’t take long to make an avatar. But those will probably be like 2-3 dollars and I won’t be buying them either. Not that important. Maybe at .25, but not more than that.

And I’d like piyotama trophies. I like that game :D

  • I swear everybody who works on the psn network should be fired. Espically Eric Lempel and grace chen. Come on its been 2 years and no in game chat or new avatars. I love the ps3 games and hardware but the psn network just sucks.

  • Godd*mnit! What the f**k does the godd*mn psn have now?! Holy s**t, I’ve never seen a bunch of garbage in my life. This update look a sorry son of a b**ches if I ever saw one.

Right now, I can’t stand to look at this PSN update.

Get this s**t outta my f**kin’ face!

  • Please fix the disappearing menu items in FW3.0. This ruins the PS3 as a user friendly DLNA media device. OR is this going to be a theme we have to buy to make the PS3 user friendly again for those of us who use DLNA?

  • Sad to see that we have to pay for animated themes. I guess the 3.0 update was more for Sony to make money (what’s new and scroll text that can’t be turned off are both basically ads spaces), then to give more features to users. Hopefully the next update is better.

That being said, I’m still buying LBP theme.

  • Fallout 3 DLC please…your company enjoys being the 1 without but im giving you just a little longer, I can’t explain with words how much more I like this game than your console. So your close to losing me as a fan over your inability to push requested content through.

Avatars, wow way NOT to deliver….did Eric not trough up a sloppy lil’vid telling us these come with 3.0???

And to all you people getting you rocks off on fans who genuinely care about something other than you do. Get a clue…seriously a person has a right to complain even YOU about us, so come on go ahead lash back just because we want something you don’t. Your just making me sad…PS3 is crumbling from within ):

  • OH MY GOSH WHERE ARE MY KEYS
    oh there they are

  • Keep up the good work Grace. XD

  • ..and no that’s not actually sarcasm. :]

  • YEES!!!!!!! COOLBOARDERS 3!!!!!!!!!!!!! all i need or they need now is 3xtreme and ill be st on my psp!!!!!!!

  • i feel like im being teased by sony. they show us the premium themes but charge $3. why not give us one free one to try out? and i want the trophy sound back. im not feeling the love sony.

  • I read some place that the average PS3 user is 28 years old. It’s clear that the average PSBlog whiner is not the average PS3 user.

    Just so everyone knows.

  • Ad Hoc Party? WHERE ARE YOU?!

  • @163

WTH are you talking about? The trophy sound is still there.

  • While the Capcom bundles are a real deal in itself I am VERY dissapointed in this update.

Even though the Fallout 3 trophies was updated to add all of the DLC trophies Broken Steel didn’t come out this week. It was announced it would come out by the end of September and the GoTY Edition comes out next month. By the time it comes out the GoTY Edition will be out. I do realize this has to do with Bethesda but this is a let down.

  • Any chance we’ll be able to select our own icons to pair with an dynamic theme at some point in the future? For example, I like the Afrika dynamic theme they have in the Japanese PSN store, but for some reason they paired it with the default white icons. Given that the bulk of the theme is white and gold in color the icons blend into the background. Being able to simply select an animated theme background separate from the icons would solve this issue.

  • I’ll be taking a pass on purchasing any PSN content this week, in part because of the SPAM cluttering up my XMB with the 3.00 FW. Options to turn off the extra PSN store icons; ticker; and “What’s New” ads would be nice. We all pay for PSN’s services to one degree or another, and in your face spam is not appreciated. Hopefully this will be addressed via a future firmware update. Thanks.

  • Not one free dynamic theme but freaking JAPAN gets one WTH SONY.

  • No Fallout 3 DLC? Really? I’m tired of waiting months for games, films, and dlc that everyone else already has. I’m moving to another platform. Goodbye, Betamax.

  • And again here i say they fail at public relations. they dont listen customers at all and look at JAPAN’s they listen and they received in postitve and you.. wth are you guys thinking.. imho y’all should have been fired. no offense.. you overcharge for a simple thing, no sub’s in videos and is overpriced, and rent only limit 24h and is overpriced too. and an advice to buyses.. dont buy nything and that will be customer’s message how dissaifsted with how things run.

  • can you tell me when is Zombie Apocalypse is coming out???

  • Come on, dudes.
I was excited for firmware 3.00, first of all. That turned out to be nothing but a bunch of crap we havent heard of before. You guys already let us down on that.
Dynamic themes. You give us LBP and these three crap ones, 3 dollars each. Im not buying dynamics, i mean come on…
Now, theres this. No avatars, no good updates, still many missing demos, just NOTHING. Sony, what is going on in your office? Quit slackin off and give us what we want on time for once, we write your paychecks. I am a loyal fan, and I always will be, but I dont like it when Im let down.

  • Themes cost WAAAAAAY too much in general. For the basic theme – anyone can make – some are upwards of 2 bucks and not nearly as good as those i’ve seen for free.

And 3 dollars for a dynamic theme?

    Ripoff.

3.0 changed the size of the entire XMB and a few of my themes are now broken (out of place icons)

let’s fix up 3.0 to bring the sizing back, plz.

  • Sony, just read the comments above me and on previoius pages. NOBODY likes firmware 3.00. It was one of the biggest let downs in a while. I dont need to repeat anything, I hope you guys get the idea.

  • Ohh Battle Tanks! :P So, any news about Critter Crunch?

  • Ninja matic makes a good point. And sony, at least give us an option to change the size of font and stuff to make it smaller. We arent senior citizens, this isnt the WII, and we do not use jitterbugs. The simpler interface was so much better.
I payed a lot of money for my gaming setup, hdtv, 7.1 surround and everything. And now it feels downgraded almost.

  • Nickle and dime us Sony.

$3 for a theme? Nah. Screw that.

Why not just make a software available to us so we can make our own DT?

Sony is getting crazy with it’s psn dlc pricing.

  • i was excited for Firmware 3.0 but this is just bad rushed delivery if you ask me. We need to be able to preview dynamic themes in video form. Also, cross game chat.and the ability to change font color from within the xmb settings. seriously, this whole update was to push more stuff in your face in the hopes that you would buy. its like a store with more doors. if i don’t want to buy something from the store, that isn’t going to change with a million doors.

  • Just got the Africa ‘dynamic’ theme from the japanese store after someone here mentioned it. Waaay better then the monster one. Its actually pretty cool!

Almost makes up for the fact I payed $3 for the monster one…

Anyways, I think ‘dynamic’ themes need to be made more dynamic. All the ones I tried so far dont change based on user input (time of day’ sixaxis tilt, etc)

  • Also, give us some free dynamic themes. I won’t pay for a theme. Unless it showers money on me. Japan already has a couple of free ones like Afrika and such. don’t act like we don’t know. Worst PR screw up ever. also let us use videos that we have to set as a background for a dynamic background.Give us cross game chat not crap like premium avatars. Let us upload our own. we need more avatars but i am not paying for a picture that i can crop and make in 10 seconds.

  • i think sony should give away the bad business theme because that is what this is. bad business.

  • I love the sheer number of complaints and the lack of any response on Sony’s part. Apparently, your customers aren’t happy. Maybe you should do something to ensure they STAY customers. The Playstation itself has a large number of great disc-based games coming out soon, but the PS store and new firmware itself is a complete failure. Any news on whether or not Sony as a company plans to address this? The only responses to any of these comments are to the ones talking about how great these new themes are.

  • Wow. All I ever see in these replies is moaning and complaining about something *not* available, when it should be about what *is* available. It’s not wrong to suggest things, but I do believe it is wrong to demand things by slapping Sony on the hand.

I appreciate everything that is released each week on the PlayStation Store. Trust me, people; it’s usually a LOT better than what is being released on Virtual Console, WiiWare, and Microsoft. And I can’t even begin to talk about the factors that come into play when it’s about the release date of something.

Why I’m wasting my time typing this is beyond me, but you people need to calm down a little.

  • Pardon me; when I said Microsoft in the above comment, I meant Xbox 360.

  • What really pisses me off about these guys who run the psn is…..

    1. There is a ton of ps1 games and some good ones have already been rated by the esrb but every single damn week they never release any of them…just the same ole racing and fighting games that nobody gives a damn about.
    2. Wtf was the point of fw 3.0? You guys make the whats new crap and it turns out that you guys will probably update that once a month which means theres no point in having it.
    3. We havent gotten a REAL fw feature since in-game xmb which was over a year ago…no,text chat is crap and nobody uses it.
    4. Im really starting to think theres like 3 people running the psn…

  • I know it’s not the bloggers fault so this isn’t aimed at you.

As a proud PS3 owner and supporter of Sony, I have to say these past few weeks have been garbage. Rehashed stuff we’ve seen, absolutely awful PSone games…we want stuff like Suikoden 2 and Legend of Dragoon, not sequels to stupid skateboarding titles. What’s next? Madden ’98?!!! I mean come on, some games cannot stand the test of time.

And where is all the good stuff we’ve been promised. I honestly am very sad and feel let down for the first time in a long time by Sony lately.
You guys can do better, you’ve proven you can, so please stop with the lousy updates!
I haven’t even signed in in the past few weeks on my PS3 since i know I’ll be disappointed. Don’t get me started on Singstar….it went from bland to awesome to here lately pathetic.

Sorry for the rant…I just want my opinion to at least be out there somewhere…

  • Am I one of the only one who doesn’t care about the update. I mean… I wish there was more features added. But in no way is it bad. Why would Sony need to reply to something that isn’t broken. They just added some cool things. Are you complaining because it didn’t add enough new features?

  • Jesus people. You really need to stop crying about the Fallout 3 dlc. Bethesda already said it’s coming out towards the end of September right around the same time as the GOTY edition of the game. They mentioned this in July, and you people still ask. God you people need to do some research. Same with Trine. It’s been addressed numerous times.

Sigh. People are never happy, nor are they ever satisfied. Sorry you have to deal with this mess Grace =/

  • One feature I always hoped Qore would bring is the ability to save some of those screen shots of videogames onto your PS3’s HDD. I would love to be able to save some of them and make them my background.

Any thoughts on getting this implemented into QORE?

  • Dear Grace:
Hello. is there any chance that you could return the “Theatrical Trailers” section into the normal PSN Store, for other countrie outside the US such as Canada?
I miss that section, so please, or at least let us download trailers for the US Video Store, unlocked that, ‘cuase when i try to do it appears that the service is not avaliable in my country.

  • I’d like to echo the comment about the need for a preview movie clip of the new dynamic backgrounds as well as any avatars in the future so we can see what we are shelling our money out for.

Of coarse I think we need to have demos for each game that comes out, retail or downloadable.

  • I normally don’t comment because it gets lost among the hundreds of other comments where people cry and moan they didn’t get the thing they wanted in a given week, but I have to say I like the concept of the Capcom packs. I hope to see more game packs in the future. Maybe we could see a custom game pack where we could choose from a list of games, just in case we already own one or two in the pack, like pick 2 for $9.99, 3 for $12.99, or 4 for $15.99 – something along those lines.

I hope to see more sales too, I really enjoyed the summer sale. Also, keep the PSOne Classics coming.

  • Hmmm, where should I start on this update? If at all costs without violating any policy, I would like to say that this update is N/A to me cuz I’m not interested in any of it. Nice try tho. Good looking out.

  • Grace Chen deserves a promotion and a raise, senior manager is not enough.

no one has answered any of the common recent questions except her

  • nice update am excited for Qore :)

  • @185

Yeah right. XBOX Live and Wii’s Virtual Console has 10x the BETTER stuff than SCEA’S PSN. Even the Japanese PSN is better than SCEA PSN, and you know it!

  • @184, Sony doesn’t have to fear losing any of these losers as customers. It’s the same people whining every week about the same thing.

The only way these losers would be happy is if every PS1 game ever was released on the same week as every previously mentioned DLC/PSN game. Then again, even if that happened and not much was added the next week, they’d be back here complaining.

These people aren’t going anywhere. They live for this.
