Fresh out of the Spike Sneak Peeks PAX panel comes a very special announcement from Naughty Dog’s Creative Director Amy Hennig — the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter Edition!

Included in this special package is the game, exact in-game replica of the Phurba Dagger Artifact and stand, Collectible Art Book and Collector case autographed by Naughty Dog, plus a host of downloads.

      Hey Anubis08 – first post..good man. Yep we built a limited amounts to win only. You\’ll have chances to win it here on the blog, in HOME, during the multiplayer demo that goes kicks off on Sept 15th + other places we\’ll announce.

    Very disappointed that this is a win only option. Not everyone has the time and leisure to keep up with all the ways to win.

    This isn’t a fan service, it’s a fan with time on his hands service.

    I’m still getting this game, but I really was hoping you guys would give some real fan service with a real collector’s edition that everyone could get.

    Damn. I just pre-ordered this game, and now I have to go back just to swap it for the Fortune Hunter Edition. I suppose it’ll be a great opportunity to pay it off, too…

    I literally never buy collector’s editions of games. But when I saw that Uncharted had one I got so excited. I was ready to go to the store and put money down on it. This is just stupid. I hope you at least release a non-win only collector’s edition. I’m offering to pay more money and so are a lot of the people who posted above me so why would you not do this?

    This is the first game I actually WANT to pay for a Collector’s Edition. Now I have to participate in some contest to win it? It’s cool for those who win but I don’t have time for this sort of contests and even if I were to win I wouldn’t qualify since this sort of thing never applies to PR.

    Come on Sony, you have thousands of fans willing to pay extra for a nice collector’s edition. This is your premiere game this holiday season, some could argue it could be the PS3 game ever; so why aren’t you guys releasing a limited edition in stores?

    Why can’t I buy this? We got a Resistance 2 limited edition, why not make one for Uncharted 2 (which is my most anticipated game of the year). I will do everything I can possibly do to win this (and still buy the game just to support my favorite developer, Naughty Dog)

    VERY COOL indeed. I’d like to win this but I can see it now. “Canada Excluded or US Residents only”. Please don’t tell me, us Canadians can’t participate! Also I think the contest should be a random draw type thing, rather then a first come first serve deal, because that wouldn’t be fair to people living in different time zones.

      Depending on where you pre-order, you can get onto a multiplayer demo Sep 15th and win one there.

    This is the biggest game for the ps3 this holiday season so it should only be natural that there is a collectors edition but this is kind of lame, not everybody is into or have the time to participate in a contest some rather just buy it.

    I gotta agree with FearMonkey dont you want our money?

    So Naughty Dog please consider a collectors edition for all, thanks and cant wait for this game!!

    I see the photo and I immediately start to persuade myself to import it whatever the cost. You know for a fact that Europe wouldn’t get it but then you read on and discover we’re all screwed for a change.

    An American Chelsea supporter whose club can’t buy players teasing us with this. Are you really that spiteful?

    This upsets me, because I was all set to actually PAY for a limited edition of the game. It’s probably one of the only games this gen that deserves to have its LE version bought, aside from the Demon’s Souls LE. I just hope that the requirements to win a FHE version aren’t outside of my means (i.e. utterly ridiculous tasks to perform).

    At this rate, I may as well just pre-order from Best Buy and get the golden guns. I’m extremely let down here.

    WTF NO! DAMMIT!

    I think a better idea (besides doing the smart thing and just releasing it to stores) would be to give a LOT of people the ability to compete in a contest to win the ability to buy it. That way you could throw contests like “the first 1000 people to post in this thread gets a unique link to purchase the Limited Edition version of Uncharted 2!”

    But hey, giving away 1-100 or so for free works too i guess. Sure, it means that you guys lose money and disappoint fans that wanted a LE, but hey… who cares? xD
    lol. Sorry im coming off as an ass. I just thought for sure a LE of U2 would be available.

    I am crushed that I cannot buy this. This is exactly what I wanted to buy.

    Name your price, I will pay. $200? Fine with me.

    I have played Uncharted all the way through at least eight times. I have played parts of the game at least a dozen more times. It is my only Platinum trophy.

    It is the best game I have ever played. It’s so good that I have recommended it to a half-dozen of my friends; I’ve let them borrow my copy, and others have bought their own because of my recommendation.

    This has never happened with any other game. Not Gears of War. Not Halo. Not GTA. Not LittleBigPlanet.

    This game was so good that I bought it twice.

    Uncharted 2 is the only game I want to play…until Uncharted 3 comes out.

    I cannot believe that this is not available for purchase. I saw the “LE” tweet from Arne and my heart jumped…and then my heart sank. He twisted the knife even further–“not available for purchase w/ tons of bonus content.”

    I’m too upset to say anything more. I’m going to watch The Departed.

    this is absolutely crazy! Why would Naughty dog not do an LE that we can buy? When a game that has this much hype surrounding it its a damn near printing press of money! look at what people payed for the legendary version of halo 3? or, more recently, for batman!

    While i cant be “mad” at at naughty dog, as they owe me nothing. its just a bit dissapointing, because i had fully expected of paying US$100 for a collectors ed.

    No retail collector’s edition for one of the biggest titles of the year? One word: weak.

    I’m not going to waste time jumping through hoops trying to win this…I’d much rather spend that time playing the other games that are coming out this year.

    Can I participate although I live in Quebec, Canada? I know that the laws and stuff from Quebec make it that 99% of contests I ever see exclude Quebec because of it (gotta love living here…), so it would be useful to have that information and hopefully you guys will let us know the requirements for winning in the future post about this.

    @47 I thought the same exact thing as soon as I saw the title of the post.. but guess I won’t change my pre-order, only 39 days left!
