We’re less than a month out from the launch of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves and we’re starting to see reviews come in. We just received the November issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine in the studio which has the first world review of UNCHARTED 2. Subscribers should have this issue in the mail any time now and, if you don’t have a subscription, you can pick up a copy from newsstands in the next couple of weeks.
Cracking open the issue, which features UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves as its cover, we were totally thrilled to see that our game received a perfect 5/5 AND the Editors’ Choice award for the month! We’ve been working incredibly hard over the past two years to make UNCHARTED 2 the best game we’ve made yet and we’re all smiles to hear that we’re not the only ones who think we’ve got something really great on our hands.
You’ll have to pick up your own copy to read the ten full pages of UNCHARTED 2 details, but in the meantime here’s an image of the cover to serve as a preview:
I’m pretty sure just reading reviews of our game won’t be enough to hold you over until we launch on October 13, so be sure to check out our Multiplayer Demo. If you pre-ordered UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves through GameStop, then your early access to the demo starts tomorrow and runs up until just prior to the launch of our game. If you haven’t pre-ordered, the Multiplayer Demo opens up to everyone via a PlayStation Network download on September 29.

i thought PS3 owners were better than that. i owned an xbox 360 for 2 years and JUST recently became the owner of a PS3 (a slim more specifically, i took advantage of the price cut) and i bought Uncharted as my first game. i am aware that “xbox fanboys” are stupid and prideful but i am not. if i want a good game i buy BOTH (not the wii) consoles. wasim007, don’t make owners of the PS3 look bad with your fanboyish comments especially on a PS Blog where 360 owners cannot defend themselves.

Im glad there are know multi player trophies. All though it seems like multi player is taking over the market and wrecking games like RE5. This is supposed to be a primarily first. I have friends in REAL life so it is nice to see this. Thanks naughty dog and sony.
played the beta… was fun, if not terribly limited… i pre-ordered mine on Amazon.com.. i dont like these pre-order bonuses, particularly when they dont really justify anything… i dont much care about review scores either.. ill judge the game for myself…
I have to win one of these! Uncharted and Tomb Raider are two of my favorite games. If I don’t win one, I will be on ebay trying to buy an unopened one!

Honestly I’m not even going to bother reading any reviews, I know that this game is going to be better than the first game, which is now one of my favourite games ever.
Uncharted 2 is a game I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on and is my most anticipated PS3 game yet alongside GOW3.

Anyone else having problem with the gamestop preorder code for the MP demo? Says invalid and it is close to noon PST. Unless Naughty Dog hasn’t released the demo yet.

These games are what legends are made of. See, what happens is that PS3 entered into the next generation, not with releases of old “safe” franchises. Naughty brought us Uncharted, Insomniac brought us Resistance, and now Sucker brought us Infamous. All three of those companies took a chance on something new, instead of milking something old.
And now Uncharted is in everyone’s thoughts and is one of the most anticipated games this year. First review shows it to be the ultimate game this year. And a few years ago no one knew who Nathan was.
Congratulations not only on delivering a game that is better than the first release, but for succeeding in making Nathan, Sully, and Ellena household names.

They’re pretty confident… “One of the best games of all time”… People are saying “Duuuh… A perfect score for a PS3 game on a PS3 magazine…” I didn’t hear anyone say any game on the 360 to be called best game of all time in any 360 magazine.

@172: I don’t know. I seem to recall that Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3 were lauded as the best games of all time by the Xbox Magazine. I’ll have to look it up.
If you want to take it with a grain of salt, go ahead. Wait for IGN and other multi-platform magazines to weigh in. But I think the game looks sweet, and I loved the first Uncharted. Plus, Naughty Dog hasn’t made a bad game since I can remember.
Also, the official PS magazine didn’t give perfect scores to other PS3 exclusives such as Resistance 2 or infamous or games like that. Maybe they just really like UC2?
@163: How can a review of a game be done one month before release, you ask? Well, when do you think the programmers finish the code of a game? The day before release? Of course not. I mean, it probably takes several weeks just to manufacture the disks, put them in cases and ship them out. Other magazines review games well before their release as well. (Not to mention movie reviews and book reviews and such). Why are you surprised?

Uncharted 2 would never be that great, even if they correct auto-save and aiming problems of Uncharted.
Just wondering…but was that a “final code” version of the game?
And as far as those concerned about “bias”, if you’ve played Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and are a fan of its genre, you’d expect Uncharted 2 to be a nearly flawless performance as a worst case scenario.

At the end of this story it says stay tuned for more information on the multiplayer and a contest (which I assume is for the LE) tomorrow. Well… that was yesterday, and today would be tomorrow… lol… and I don’t see anything. I’m just anxious to see if this contest will be something worth trying to get an LE copy of Uncharted 2!

I can’t wait for Uncharted 2 to come out! I’m going through the first game right now on Hard and then it’s only Crushing and I’ll have all the trophies! Crushing is going to test my patience for sure…
Trust me, Android66, the Xbox magazine does the same thing. These magazines are by no means forced to post positive reviews. I have seen exclusive PS3/PS2 games panned by their own magazine.
The old Xbox Magazine, before the 360 came out, used to do nothing but pan ps2 and talk about how much better the xbox version of games was. I actually let me subscription to it run out because the propaganda was coming straight out of their ass.
The PS3 magazine might have “some” interest in glorifying the good games, but they are glorifying the “Good” games, and not giving Lair 5/5s.
But if anyone is guilty of tooting their own horn it is definitely not Sony who should have the stone thrown at them.
It’s not like Uncharted 1 was like Killzone 1 and people should have expected less from Naughty Dog. Nothing really “bad” has come from them.
