Hi everyone,

I’m Olivier, I work for Nobilis as the Product Manager of Trine, and I’m really happy to be able to tell you that it’s coming to the US PlayStation Store this Thursday, October 22!

This long-expected innovative action / platform game that combines 2D gameplay with 3D graphics is almost here! Acclaimed by players throughout the world and designated as “Best E3 Downloadable Game” by Gamespot, Trine will be available for download Thursday on the PlayStation Network.

Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.

Trine is balanced between action and puzzle solving sequences, which are just fantastic to play. Thanks to an extensive use of physics, you’ll be able to solve puzzles in many different ways, whether you play alone by switching characters or alongside with a friend (up to 3 players simultaneously on the same system). Just take a peek at this trailer and you’ll get a sense of what I’m talking about!

For those of you who are always on the hunt for Trophies, rest assured! I’m thrilled to announce that Trine has full support for trophies and also features a Platinum Trophy as the ultimate reward!

I realize that many of you have been waiting to get your hands on Trine for some time. I’d like to assure you all that we are deeply sorry about this delay. We worked really hard in order to give you the best experience possible playing Trine and we really hope you’ll enjoy it.

One more thing. Don’t forget to get all the experience vials that you can pickup throughout the levels! With them you’ll be able to improve the abilities of your characters and become an even bigger threat to your enemies!

Trine is available for download this Thursday on the PlayStation Store for $19.99.

  • also in response to joel explanantion we gamers surely appreciate it as nearly never get a reason but this is still extremely late. people have been questioning the delay in this game for months. as a development studio you guys shouldnt allow sony to dictate silence. if they are not allowing u guys a chance to present ur product u should be more forceful and open about ur efforts being delayed by another party. i know their a huge company and ur a small developer but its ur game and ur project. game looks great and u guys shouldnt settle for bein put on a back burner. step up to the plate if u think u can knock one out of the park.

thank you. i’ve waited since july and came back from paris goin: “TRINE! TRINE! TRINE!”

i look for it and go…
    “WTF WHHHEEEEERRREEE’SSS TTRRRIIINNE?!!”!

I saw the posts. Trine will be delayed :(

So after the wait it’s finally here thank you!

People should stop whining about online. If they had any friends with controllers or had xtra controllers i’m sure a relative would play. this looks like gr8 fun. :)

Thanks for taking the time to explain things. I read these posts and I know that most of the people, myself included, have no idea what it takes to get a game out there. I just know I can’t stand the waiting! But I always say i’d rather wait then get a game on time that still need polish.
I myself wont miss online multiplayer. I like playing games with the other people in my own house. I was just saying the other day most of the games I own are either single player or have online multiplayer only. I personally don’t play many games that are online multiplayer since I have to put up with other peoples music, religious slurs, swearing, etc. The only thing is I would have appreciated it if you had put out a demo so I could try it out first.
    Anyway, Thanks again!

  • finally this game comes out … now everybody can finally dry their tears and stop crying for this game …

  • I don’t understand why people are complaining about price. It’s been announced from the beginning that it was going to cost $20, which is already $10 cheaper than the PC version. That’s even why I’ve waited for this release. All of you who say you were looking forward to the game, if you really were indeed, should have picked up the PC demo and tried it — it’s really nice and, IMO, totally worth the 20 bucks. To those of you comparing the price to Burnout, that is an OLD game by now. It was released for 39,99 if memory serves, and only recently got downmarked.

  • Looks awesome, but all games should have a demo. It would be much easier to decide to pay the $20 price tag if I know first hand that it’s worth it.

  • Your absurd delays of releasing this on the psn put its release right with Uncharted 2, Demon’s Souls, and Ratchet & Clank, so I’m afraid this is a pass even though I used to be excited for it.

  • @Joel at Frozenbyte: thank you for your post here and for the informative post at your message boards.

I for one am definitely buying Trine this Thursday, and I look forward to your team’s future projects.

  • cannot wait!! this is the game i’ve been waiting for!

  • @25

i get that happens to me on alot of the demos and psn games i download and i have no idea why

  • Demo, please

  • Delayed again? Today is October 22nd and still nothing at the us playstation store!

  • the games on the uk store under the a-z version saying it was released on 17/9/09. Is this right? did i miss the release? also, a demo would be nice.

  • Is Trine a multiplayer, i dont mean online. Because I want to play it with my wife.

  • I can’t figure out how to play multi player ? I see no options anywhere ?

  • me neither…im pissed..i thought it was supposed to be multiplayer.

  • OK I figured out how to play the multiplayer people…when you are in the game just press the START button and the second player will appear as one of the characters.

  • Yeah Trine has offline local co-op – you need to plug in the controller, start a level (any level will do except the first one) and press START on the second controller. Then the other player will join. Same works for the third player as well. You can drop in at any point in the game and drop out as well.

Sorry for not having any info on this anywhere in the menus or inside the game. If you press START on the second controller during the tutorial you will get a message saying that you can join in the next level, but somehow we never thought of this the other way. In hindsight it’s so obvious that it hurts…

@Grim-Bunny that’s the UK release date, yeah. Demo coming soon hopefully…

Also, thanks again to everyone for their support and comments. Have fun. :)
