With the release of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 right around the corner, we’ve got a series of exclusive developer video diaries we’d like to share with you all. The first video in the series, which debuted on GameTrailers last Tuesday, takes a look at the overall storyline and discusses how the team created the game with authenticity in mind. How about socom Confrontation ? This game is being left behind. Right now i dont care about PSP games. I love it and looks good but socom for PS3 IS THE TOP GAMING GAME IN THIS PS3. If socom wasnt out alot of people wouldnt of bought the ps3. YOU SONY and slant six is gonna mess up this game and socom series . shame what a shame. All i can do is shake my head side to side with my head down.
Why’d you guys change your video player? My ps3 says “this application is not supported” where the video player should be. This isn’t a one time occurance either; I posted about this on the “it only does hd entertainment bundles” post too. As I said before, please fix this; it is very ironic to not be able to view videos on an official playstation blog on my ps3.

I and 3 of my friends would have never bought a PS3 if it wasnt for socom. Now its ruined and the ONLY game i bought the system for is treated like CRAP. SONY and SLANT SUCKS Ruined the PS3.

Am I the only one who feels bad for Slant 6? I mean, yes they screwed up, but that was a year ago. They were (to my understanding) new with the PS3 hardware, so it’s not their fault the game was broken at launch, though they should have delayed it. Anyway, this game looks good and hopefully Slant 6 knows more about PS3 developing so if they do the next SOCOM fans won’t be as dissapointed. But I will be picking this up come next year!
Also, I know this isn’t releated to the post, but can you guys change the video player? Everytime I visit the blog on my PS3 I can never watch any of the videos.
As someone who has been playing Socom from it’s very begining I must say that I too Hope that nop one buys this game. As far as I’m concerned Slant Six should be disbanded as a Company and all their assets sold off. Let them slide into oblivion(not the game) and never rear their ugly heads again. I mean to work on a psp game as your main focal point is absurd when One of the TOP FRANCHISES for Sony gets left behind in the dark. I will NOT BUY THIS GAME AT ALL. Ilove FBT and FTB 2, Slant Six messed it up with that tactical crap of a game that they tried to sell all of us. I rented got bored in an hour and brought it back and got the money I paid for the rental back. You suckered us with Confrontation with all it’s marvelous features and wonderful amount of DLC that was supposed to come out Monthly. Disappointment is all I can say about socom now. It’s sad to see good studios being closed down because of the economy while a [DELETED] studio like Slant Six being give a multi-million dollar franchise and turning it into a complete POS. Eff’ Slant Six and eff’ SCEA for allowing this. Sony has always been regarded to making the best first party games but this is embarrassing.
Wow, I would also be a little upset if I was a SOCOM fan. To see Slant6’s next project being advertised/marketed before addressing or just ignoring the PS3 version is kind of a kick in the nards.
I would be apprehensive in supporting Slant 6 after witnessing the Confrontation launch, the following fan disapointment, and the developer silence that followed.

If you aren’t happy with Confrontation then move on to bigger and better games. I have, along with many of my friends and former clan members.
SOCOM is not what it used to be nor were the changes on par with basic standards set by current generation games and their solid online play.
Here’s to hoping Zipper giving us SOCOM 4 with a campaign and taking what they learned from MAG and bringing it over.
Just give us the small intense firefights from the past. If I want to play overly sized maps with 100s of other players and vehicles, I play a different game.
Again, if you (gamers) aren’t happy; move on. No point in arguing with developers about this game. Remember – $15 map pack 2 years after release for a game that still doesn’t work properly.

Boycott Any Further release from Slant 6. They obviously don’t respect the Ps3 community. If you buy the map pack if it’s ever released you’re just as dumb as they are. Sony make it free or don’t be surprised if people start boycotting sony altogether. Look i’m tired of the lies and it doesn’t take a genius to see that it’s Sony who’s over Slant 6. We paid $60 bucks for a broken game and now you want to charge for map packs sounds like you taking a page from the the other HD console.

I never ended up getting FB2 (do have 1) but this looks great. I have a PSPgo now too so it will be nice to be able to just jump into some multiplayer whenever I feel like it without needing to swap discs around. w00t!

We have been disrespected and ignored since the launch of Confrontation by this dev and publisher. Please excuse us if we don’t have much sympathy about how you feel in regards to our replies in this public forum by a dev who has screwed over loyal followers of the SOCOM brand.
@30 Socom is a franchise. They won’t let people comment on Socom.com so we have to come here and wherever else we can to voice our displeasure. They ripped us off and we are not taking it anymore. Since you like buying games from them fine but no need to be a forum sheriff.

but yea my only Complaint with Confrontation is the lack of a story line. turning Socom into a multiplayer game was the dumbest thing every. Slant6 should have focus on a strong single player and Cooperative.

On topic, this game is looking nice! I tried it at the PS.Blog meetup back in June and it was pretty fun. Should be good for playing in bed or when I have a few spare minutes.
You need to make a new socom for the ps3 and add a story mode. I still play socom 3(which I think is the best one yet) for my ps2. Make a new please and finish the 1.6 confrontation update
I had no problem with turning Socom into a multiplayer game online (that’s all it was good at before anyway).
The problems I DID have was Zipper abandoning such a unique game and Slant Six ruining it.
Releasing a terribly buggy, laggy, and crash prone game with only 7 maps and taking almost a year to fix it to be decent (1.50).
Zipper made a big mistake abandoning Socom for MAG. Bad Company 2 Beta blows it away.
why slant six? WHY? They already screwed up confrontation, and you let them make a PSP game too now!? under the socom name !?!?

OK, this is really starting to be BS that the videos don’t work on the PS3’s browser anymore. Go back to the old video player for the love of the gaming gods. Why would you guys take a step back like that?
And to all you cry babies whinning about Confrontation, you are all full of crap. Yes, the game was busted when it came out, but it’s nearly perfect now. All the bugs have been worked out, and is now my personal favorite SOCOM ever. You guys are just typical internet gaming generation cry babies complaining about everything.
For anyone who hasn’t got Confrontation yet, don’t listen to these idiots. It’s awesome now, and now is the best time to jump on board since the bugs are finally fixed and the DLC pack is about to come out. Don’t fall for cry baby propaganda. You all know how most inter-tards are. And there are ALOT of them here.

And to have an online only game that came out in ’08 as you say to have no DLC has to be a failure.
