You guys knew was coming and were just waiting for the official word…so here it is! The long awaited Pirates of the Caribbean DLC will be available on December 22nd on the PlayStation Store. There are two different packs available, a premium Costume Pack and massive Level Kit.
In the Pirates of the Caribbean Costume pack, you can dress up your Sackboy as one of the many characters in the movie including, Sack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Barbossa, Davy Jones and Tia Dalma. Each of these costumes can be purchased individually for $1.99 or get all six for $5.99.
The Pirates of the Caribbean Level Kit, includes a completely new adventure spanning five new levels and a mini-game. Be sure to put on your swimming gear as these new levels feature a completely new gameplay element that will make you all wet. That’s right….WATER!!!
For the first time in LBP history, water will be a new gameplay element for you to play, and create your own new water-drenched levels for the rest of the community to play. In addition, you’ll have access to tons of new stickers, objects and other create materials plus a bunch of new trophies to collect. Last but not least, is a bonus “Pelegosto” costume only available in this Level Kit. All this for $5.99 – a definite must buy.

Awesome news. I will definitely be purhcasing the level kit (especially considering how fun the MGS kit was). Personally, I have no qualms with paying to extend the playtime of one of the best games this gen especially when there is nearly an unlimited amount of fantastic levels that players can play for free.

Wow this looks fantastic. I loved the Metal Gear Solid pack and the price is right for this. Great job Sony and MM can’t wait. Being that Disney is involved you should actually advertise for this damn thing. Some great levels could come out of this pack.
@110 no-one is forcing you to buy the DLC, DLC is an option and is not mandatory for you to finish any game, so stop complaining and just shut it!
the levels are a must buy!!! im usually not a fan of costumes but those seem worth it, i might get them as well…
Awesome, cant wait to see Bioshock Levels being made with this ability now. Speaking of Bioshock, will we see Bioshock Costume Packs soon? would be awesome if it happens.

I presume this DLC will be playable free via other people’s creations, just like the MGS DLC. Though I’m not sure water is as game changing as the paintball gun. We’ll see.

1. Most other games charge you 9.99 or more for far less content.
2. is 5.99 really that much money?
3. I’m ALL for supporting the developers… you think if everything was released free that they would be able to continue bringing out this kind of content? I think not.

The posable figurine is cute and all, but something a small child can cuddle is what I am looking for. Besides, that is how Sackboy looks like he should feel.

Perhaps before calling people names you can explain what you mean by, “how much more i have to spend to finish a game” and “has to have DLCs.” Because it seems that either you do not understand how DLC works, or people don’t understand what you mean. All I know is that I have plenty of games with DLC available but they are not required to finish the game nor do they have to have them for me to still enjoy it. I admit there are instances where DLC is obviously just a ploy to get extra money, but this is not one of them.
I’m just trying to keep the peace.
