Update — PS3 3.15 System Software

154 0

Just a quick note to let you know that firmware update 3.15, an optional update that was released in early December, is now a mandatory update. You can read about the contents of the update in the original post here.

In addition to the features that were communicated back in December, the update also improves system stability during use of some PlayStation 3 software. If you’ve already performed the update, there’s no need to do anything. If you are using an older version of the firmware, you will be prompted to update when you start up your system and when you access any network features.

  • Fist off, I greatly believe ps2 BC will not be released for new slim ps3’s until the ps2 is retired, as it still makes Sony a bit of money. Trust me, I’d definitely like to be able to run through FF XII again, upscaled through hdmi on my new machine I shelled out $300 for. But..mabye make the next update a bit more sigificant than just crappy facebook integration and pretty colors for our friends list? OH…and mabye add the ability to read NTFS file system via usb and VC-1 video streams??

  • Sony just announced 3D BD support for several players. How about an announcement of support for the PS3? Please!?!

  • After I updated to 3.15 my Media Server in Photos, Music and Movies are unable to connect, has there been a issue report on this?
