While this might be true for the weather in some parts of the country this week, the game demo for Heavy Rain will be available worldwide through the PlayStation Store on Thursday, February 11, 2010. Mark this on your calendar! This PlayStation 3-exclusive demo will feature two full chapters from the game, in which players will immerse themselves in the roles of Norman Jayden, a FBI profiler brought in to help local law enforcement find and capture the Origami Killer, and Scott Shelby, a private investigator hired by families of past victims to bring their killer to justice. Gamers will finally get the chance to try this psychological thriller where players make choices that will determine their story, all in the hopes of uncovering the mystery of Heavy Rain. If you’re experiencing heavy rain this Thursday, feel free to stay inside to download and play the demo of Heavy Rain.
This is as close to a game is ever going to get to the movie “SEVEN”, I can’t wait!
The Jayden chapter is pretty cool. The P.I. chapter is kind of boring, though it does have a combat scene.
Read the review on Kotaku, and I’m heavily anticipating this game now.

geez this game is horrible. aside from the story and graphics, it’s like they barely tried. and i think MGS4 and UC2 has better graphics. rather, i know they do.
@105- uncharted 2 doe have better graphics but heavy rain craps on MGS4 graphics are you crazy? The gameplay is amazing with the choices you get to make and the interaction with objects.

Personally, I think it’s a fantastic game and differs greatly from what’s already out there.

played the Euro demo (sorry Sony I cheated a bit ;p ) It was fantastic, I have not played a game exactly like this before (though it reminds me are a more interactive Broken Sword or Shadow of Destiny). I can say that not everyone will like it but this is a game changer, much like Shenmue. Heavy Rain will influence and move the rest of the industry forward.
Will we see the MLB 10: The Show demo tomorrow (02/11) as well?

I will try it out I download all demos..but just to let you know I have played and beat well over 1,000 games in my time..maybe thousands of them..most take me 1 week to beat..all the Tomb Raiders took around 2 weeks each on PS1..I find a lot of games are not that challenging intellectually to me..sure some are hard but don’t require too much thinking really..this game has got some of my interest and I will give the demo a fair shake :)

I pre-orderd the game at gamestop about a week ago. How does the DLC chapter work that comes when you pre order the game? Will it be ready the day of the game or later?
I hope everyone in the U.K. has pre-ordered the special edition from HMV as it’s the same price as the normal edition and comes with a code to download the soundtrack a dynamic theme and the first part of the DLC.
IGNs review was the most thought out so far. its been getting excellent reviews except of course Destructoid but thats to be expect they cant stand the PS3. They love those rehashes though.

I was really excited about this game when I first read about it, because I’m a big mystery buff. I played the demo already a few times trying to see all the possible actions. The thing is, I was a little worried that the game would give me nightmares…not sure what my tolerance for violent video games is since I’m not usually interested, So I read the info at the esrb site. Now I’m concerned about so much nudity. I might rent the game, but I’m not going to buy it right away. Any chance they could team up with square enix and use the same mechanics for a final fantasy game? THAT I would buy. Now back to littlebigplanet…
@PantherX: Good to see someone else read the Destructoid review ^_^ Yeah, they tend to do their “brutal honest reviewing” like that so I don’t pay much attention to them most of the time (got linked to this one though). Still, I was quite surprised about how positive the review was.

The positive reviews are piling up for Heavy Rain. Now we are going to count to see if they out do even the great and powerful Uncharted 2. Well i expect Sack Boy and Girl outfits (even tho im boycotting LBP 4 now) and a Home personal Space. and a new dynamic theme that shows the faces in the loading screens like in the game!

Wtf gives, Sony and Quantic Dreams? You promise us the demo on Feb. 11th, but here we are and no demo to be had. Seriously, don’t entice your customers with something and then fail to deliver; all you are doing is pissing off fans and driving away customers. Just because you don’t have the money to spend on this title, doesn’t mean others don’t.
But we all have the right to upset, we are all excited about this title. It just seems any other demo would have been out on the network by now.
You may have the money to spend on it but being anal about a date that was as vague as “February 11th” and getting your underwear in a bunch over what time of day it’s released is a bit much don’tcha think? As far as I am concerned if it drops at 12:00pm it still was released on Feb 11th.

@ ICcold. If you want to be entirely literal, then yes, Thursday could concievably mean any of the 24 hours, but come on! We’re all gamers! When they said the Playsation 3 would be released Nov 11, they did not mean at 5 pm. People lined up at stores KNOWING that the system was going to be available at 12 am, Nov 11. It is part of the language of gaming: if something is scheduled to be released on a date, it is understood that that means at midnight!
this is getting ridiculous. If they don’t release it by 9pm tonight, I might lose faith in all humanity.
