We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.
If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.

@131 – I don’t think they’ve taken credit for anything, they’ve just said the problem is resolved.
And besides there’s nothing they could have done. You can’t just write a patch in a few hours.

I’ve paused to sync every single trophy I’ve ever collected knowing eventually something would prevent a sync and an eventual loss of trophy data. Some weren’t so lucky and eventually it will happen again.
Stop putting the onus of responsibility of your network on the users of it.

yeah so after an hour after my ps3 simply logged out of the psn (thinking maybe just a connection error, no biggy) I realized that I didn’t get a few trophies in Lego Indiana Jones 2 the adventure continues, these unfortunately were complete all the bonus and treasure areas, not incredibly difficult, by all means time consuming, on two different levels, I checked the list, synced, nothing, then I stopped playing, went to sync and gone, uggh, came online found out a prob, turned off the sys, waited, once fix I load, no trophies, sync. no trophies, insert game, nothing, so i go earn an easy trophy, sync, bam, trophies! but wait, the ones that took forever aren’t found!!!!!! I’m out that time and this sucks! There’s not like a save point I can go back to in this game, to go back right before the point I earned them, I’m going to have to spend more time going back through them! It was one thing when trophies were released and I had to play uncharted again
to earn them, but this is bs, I’d like to say I’m still a fanboy but come on, it’s hard this day and age, damn trophy sys sucking me in

Sure they aren’t saying they fixed directly but they’re taking the thanks of it being fixed. They didn’t post anywhere to make it sound like they did nothing. Sony says they verified the problem? Then why don’t they fix it? I’m assuming it would occur within 4 years. But what if it happens every time it goes to the next month? They need to do something to prevent this.

Just put the disk back in. Your trophies are still there.
Wow everyone is so ready to be upset and angry over this. If you actually too a split second to try, instead of rushing over to complain on the blog, you would have noticed that yourself.
This does leave me to question whether or not this will happen again 4 years from now.
Putting the disc back in only will bring up what was last synched.It won’t bring up anything that happened during the clock screw up and no I don’t think they fixed anything.They verified what was wrong and waited for it to count to March 1st and all better.Notice again how they’ve said nothing about bringing back trophies as they probably don’t know how or they would have quickly addressed that issue instead of remaining silent.
I’m glad everything worked itself out. I did lose some data, so far, 1 trophy that was not synced with PSN.
With such a huge fiasco that it was, only losing 1 trophy? Okay, all is cool on the homefront, Sony. I can deal with 1 trophy being lost.
When will we be getting firmware update to address the issue 4 years from now? :)
Personally I like the ability to control when my trophies sync. I much prefer hiding my progress from some friends that I am in constant competition with about total number obtained.
If you include auto-sync trophies, please make it optional – just like the auto-login for PSN on start up of the PS3.

A rather empty apology given that it seems SCE did nothing to correct the issue besides merely waiting it out like the rest of us. Will this occur again in 2014? Can we expect an actual fix to this issue? Or, does Sony figure that YLoDs will sufficiently weed out the ‘phat’ herd in the next four years?
I suppose the Home managers could arrange to gift users a funny hat or something to commemorate the outage. Criteria would be not logged in to PSN during the 24h window!

Anyone able to connect to the Battlefield Bad Company 2 store. I keep getting “unfortunately the store is currently not available, please try again later.” and it doesnt matter what time I check.

Sony’s explanation just doesn’t make sense to me. I had no problem with my PS3 until around 4o’clock(Mountain) in the evening of Sunday Feb. 28 not at midnight when the clock changed. any thoughts?

Sony Playstation 3…. It only does everything, but keep the correct time and date.
I have been a heavy supporter of sony products especially the playstation line but I am really starting to be annoyed as an owner of a lauchps3 phat system. This recent incident furthers my frustration and I really believe that those of us that supported the product at launch are being pushed aside in favor of the slim models. I guess I should have waited to buy a PS3 slim since I could have bought 2 with the amount of money I spent on my system at launch. Anybody want to buy a 60GB launch PS3 with full backwards compatability?

I lost all but 3 of my trophies from Heavy Rain but my Flow and Street Fighter 4 trophies r gone. Until I put the SF4 disc in my trophy slot for the game was even missing. Sony step ya game up…Thats why people “Multi-Platform”…u slippin ( get it…step ur GAME up…i made a funny)

heres one issue that hasnt been adressed. RENTAL GAMES. say u just spent a good 27$ for 3 games at a national rental outlet for a 5 day span. and you have your reciept. but now you just lost 1/5 of that to the air.the major rental chains throughout the US were not notified or told to compensate for this error. and if u want to fax the reciept in to sony for reimbursement, you have to pay more(assuming you dont have a way to fax it yourself free). why couldnt they be notified?
Since you clim it is fixed but the problem didnt go away… those trophy didt sync’d during psn error which i originally didnt know about on that day.. I would like you take a close look at this problem.. Im sure others had the same problem. I have tried to sync from server but no go at all.

and im currently on NG+
Playing Borderlands during clock block.
Lvl’d to lvl-50 during, only noticed when there was no bing!
Lost all trophies, 98% complete.
On restart the next day, trophies returned but there’s no Bing 50 or the Plat.
I am now running around as lvl 50 but no trophy. Does any1 have suggestions?
Am downloading General Knox to see if the 51 trophy can resolve this but I’m not holding my breath.

Assassin’s Creed 2 was NOT restored although it seems all others were. Ubisoft will offer no trophy support. Sony obviously doesn’t either. Ricky on support said “We can’t just hand trophies out.” I responded “Well you can’t just take them away either… and you did.” Sony’s support on this and my broken system has been so pathetic I hate them.
Flame on children, but I have a job and will not play through AC2 again collecting 100 feathers.

If anyone else has legitimately had problems and YLOD during this event can you please leave me the details in the playstation forums you will see a thread there for poor customer service I myself YLOD’d at midnight on march first and did not know there was an issue until after the fact.

I agree with the lack of support shown for those of us that buy things at launch. Paid a ridiculous amount of money for my fat 60GB. It happens everywhere with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo DS, Apple, and many more.
Oh and also, my PS3 stopped working hours before midnight eastern time, so their reasoning makes no sense to me. I bet someone hacked their servers and don’t wwant their consmers to know we were vulnerable. Two weeks from now they will release a statement saying all our credit card information has been comprised.
