  • should put up psone games people actually like

  • Out of curiosity, Why id it that things like avatars and themes (dynamic mostly) never come out (if at all) on the same day in US/EU/JP?

I ask this because i don’t think there can be any delay with translations and stuff.

…I wanted that Shatter dynamic theme…

Is it just to spread stuff out so there isn’t a ton one week and the following week, nothing really?

  • Number 67 is an idiot. An IDIOT, just like the other losers who won’t ditch some other OS bs.

“I can’t give you any more money to a company that will not even give a decent response to the out cry of some of it’s loyalest customers.”

Oh really? This, from the hypocrite who says “I love my Linux more than games.”

Hopefully Sony does nothing to appease these fools. But also, I hope they reroute all the resources that go into their PS1 “Classics” division and put them to work on AVATARS for just 1 week! You will be unendingly forgiven, Sony. If you can stop doing shovelware PS1 games, which I thought was beneath Sony, you’ll realize that your fans love to spend money on DECENT PlayStation products. Every poor choice of content that you allow translates into money that you don’t get, on a weekly basis, it’s time to turn a profit already! I for one am more than willing to be bled for every last dollar when Sony decides to appease the customer.
NOTE: I said ‘customer’, not people who are against progress for the sake of…whatever the hell they think makes Linux worth more than a PS3.

  • woah… starting in may psn update will be every tuesday! :D

    well done sony

  • Can we please get a price drop on Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines or God of War Chains of Olympus???

  • Awesome update. Still.. I’ve been dying for Final Fantasy IX in the store. It’s really hard to put the discs into my PSP. lol

  • Where is my Demon’s Souls Dynamic Theme that’s been out in Japans PSN store for nearly a year now?

Recently Atlus published news that Demon’s Souls as sold 3 times of that they had forecast in NA…release the damn theme already so those of us who purchase the game can get the long overdue theme…Seriously who wants a damn Megaman 10 theme, or a sushi theme FFS…

  • Metal Slug XX? Is it already on the store? No? Let’s see, I’ll ask again… You do know there is a new Metal Slug game, right, Sony? For the PSP? Or am I delusional?

    I might be wrong, though.

Ah, yes! I remember! It’s correct name is Metal Slug 7 and it’s for the NINTENDO DS! Foolish me, no wonder I cannot find it here.

My mistake. I’ll get the correct version, then. You know, the one that does exist. Thank you, Sony and sorry for my misinformation.

  • Another bad week for psp users. bought a dam 20$ card cuz i thought we where getting some price drop on good games! whata waste…..

Werent we suppose to get a price drop on like tekken or Soul Calibar?

Seriously when are we psp owners going to get some dam support?
I understand that the ps3 is sony main income, but dont release a portable system (and a portable system that only relies on Psn updates) and not support it.

It cant be that hard to get games on the Psn seeing as how you can get games no one likes!

All im saying is stop alienating some of your fans.

  • I want some new avatars already!

  • cool the updates on tuesday from now on

  • Can some one please explain why There is a World of Outlaws Sprint car theme, (Which has been out for weeks now) but no game?!?

Seems to make more sense to release the theme either with or a week or two after the game is released.

  • Where’s the Skate 3 demo?!

  • So…I added Wipeout HD to my shopping cart, then paid for it and now the only thing in my download list is the Unlock, but not the demo? Furthermore it’s nowhere in the store? What’s going on…it was even removed from the Spring Fever Sale section?!?

  • Why doesn’t Final Fight Double Impact play when I’m not signed in? I get an error message.

I find this very troubling, I hope its fixed.

  • Bought KillZone Liberation last week just now noticed I have none of the email options checked…will I still get my code?

  • Yeah…where’s the Demon’s Souls theme guys?!!?! C’mon, it’s been a YEAR already…bring it over!!!

  • Yes, 67 is a complete idiot, you are right.

1st he calls himself a loyal customer, and in the same breath says Linux is more important to him that PS3 games……LOL.

2ndly, I guarantee he doesn’t have Linux on his PS3 anyway. I had Linux on my PS3 a couple years ago, and not only is it a complete hassle to get on your PS3…..but more importantly, it is COMPLETELY USELESS. The 1 and only thing it’s any good for is having a proper PC browser on your PS3. That’s it, nothing else. Except for a limited amount of emulation, but that means he’s a pirate and a thief anyway……scum of the gaming community. It’s only other use is for trying to hack your PS3, which again makes you scum.

There’s no reason to want YDL on your PS3. It’s useless. If it had access to the PS3’s GPU, then yea, I could see being angry about it, because then you could play any Linux PC game on your PS3, but it didn’t and never would. People complaining about other OS are just typical inter-tards complaining about stuff that doesn’t even affect them.

  • Free Add-on for hustle kings = Win
    Sushi theme = Fail

  • @7 North America has the wkc dynamic theme. We had it well before Europe got it back in February. Check the dynamic themes section of the store you’ll find it there (it won’t be in the what’s new link to themes you need to go to Themes & Avatars option on the main menu then go to Dynamic Themes and it will be bottom row second item).

  • pretty good update actually i don’t know what people are complaining about.

  • Alittle dissapointed with Spring Fever this year. Just a bunch of discounts on 1-3 year old games and DLC. PSN hasnt had many good new games in awhile come to think of it.

  • SERIOUSLY SONY What is the problem with giving us New avatars? Is this such a difficult task? Can the PS3 handle a 54K size image?

We should have Hundreds of options for Avatars… oh yeah the update is terrible….

  • Great update. Sam and Max should make a lot of people happy. WipEout HD for $9.99 is awesome too. Those mini’s look inviting as well.

    Time to do some buying.

  • Final Fight….. definitely

  • That game is NOT a PSone “Classic”. When will you be able to get worthwhile games for that feature again? Capcom talked about adding a bunch more games last year and not much came of it once the RE games were up. How about Mega Man 8, Mega Man Legends, Capcom Versus SNK, Breath of Fire 3&4… you know, classics.

Aside from that serious gripe, the deal on Wipeout is too much for me to pass on, I will get that. I’ll consider Sam and Max as well, loved the games they had on XBLA.

  • I LOVE YOU SONY! I just read on Joystiq that the PSN updates in North America are moving to Tuesday in May! Fantastic news! Now I don’t have to wait till the end of the week at the end of the day to play demos and get new PSN releases. Any word on Dead Nation BTW? I passed on Zombie Apocalypse for it but geez.. still not out.

Also, I need to get the Fury expansion, they should lower that to $5 because I already have Wipeout HD.

  • Lol @ 67, if you loved linux more than games, why not buy a PC instead of a PS3?

  • Finally… You have redeemed yourself from last week. Awsome update and I spent over 70 bucks so good job. My only complaint is where are some hardcore god of war avatars and dynamic themes. Or Dantes inferno avatars.

  • PSN updates on Tuesdays starting in May? Win.

  • Wipeout, Double Impact and Monopoly are sure buys for me, there might be a maybe or 2 in there also.

What’s with the PSP only minis? I thought by definition those were for PS3 and PSP. I’m guessing it’s a developer issue, but either way, that completely turns me off from those games.

I’m giving this update a 3.5, but I’ll round up to 4 to make up for the negative nancy’s. It lost half a point for calling the Spring Fever week “Racing” and only having 1 racing game.

  • Um..idc one way or the other but..the general mood here is kinda..sad. Does someone (anyone) really read the comments here and um..care? You know you don’t have to give anyone what they want, its your business, run it how you want but really..do you care what people are saying? Just a thought..sorry.

  • do anyone knows if the Uno price drop is permanent???

  • Love the retro games that get rereleased with trophy support/upscaled graphics (while keeping the classic 2D sprites intact). I was really happy with Gunstar Heroes and Final Fight is downloading right now.

Also…XS Junior League Dodgeball? WHERE DO YOU KEEP FINDING THESE RANDOM GAMES? I could probably easily make a list of 50 or so worthwhile PS1 Classics that are actually classics and would sell. None of these random obscure bargain bin sports/casual games…

  • BE WARNED PEOPLE! Final Fight Double Impact does NOT work with game sharing. If you planned on taking out that game with a buddy to get trophies, It can only be signed on one console at a time. Once that player is done playing, the other has to wait 24 hours to be able to play it. Also, I was unable to get it working on other accounts on my playstation. There’s some new copyright stuff included with this game!

  • I feel like everything that was promised at launch 06′ is being taken away slowly, one thing at a time…

  • new avatars would be nice. the last psone classic released i have heard of was FFVIII. it seemed like so many good games were released consecutively for awhile but the last 6 months of psone games has been atrocious.

  • The PS1 classics are becoming more of a pathetic joke with each passing week.

Even if I wanted games like this, I’d pay 50 cents at a yardsale for a physical disc, not $6 online for a download.

Someone please take a note out of Japan’s PSN. Please?

  • Please get amazon to update the spring fever sales!

  • @136, People actually use Amazon to buy PSN codes? Why not just boot up your PS3, open the PS store and purchase whatever you want and get to downloading. It seems to me you’re adding another unnecessary step.

  • Oh and everyone should notice my rebellion on the avatar issue.. I just got the cutest, silliest, most non-hardcore PS3 gamer avatar they had and rocked it as a sign of my cause. STARE INTO BIRDIES EYES!

I take that back, because there’s certainly lamer avatars, loads of them in fact. However, this one best reflects the childishness and futility of the avatar. Here’s a phenomenal idea. Make better use of the PSeye by allowing CUSTOM avatars. That way you never have to add more, you just let people take pictures of whatever they want. Sure you’ll have to take down the occasional sicko with a penis fetish. But other than that you’ll make a lot of people happy. Odds are you’ll never have a Brock Samson avatar.. and by golly.. I want a Venture Bros avatar like my Steam, Kotaku and everything else.

    /end

  • Hi, I am wondering if there are still advertisements in the WipEout HD game. After doing some research, I see there were some problems regarding those, and before I consider a purchase I want to know what I am getting into.

I don’t need an official response from a blog poster, so if anyone has any experience or other input and has the time, please send me a message (Same Name In Game!) as I would really appreciate it.

The real estate in my brain is much too valuable for commercial advertisement. :P

  • Oh, and I feel I have to add one thing.

If you have a Mini that is PSP only, you should bill it instead as a PSP game. I know you want have your cake and eat it, too (we all do) but, unless you’re hoping for some accidental purchases, this is only going to cause unnecessary confusion when people cannot rely on a definitive Mini being a PS3 AND PSP offering.

  • Just finished the first episode of Sam & Max. I liked it, its quite funny.

  • @67 You complete loser. Sony will surely miss your $20 a year money over Linux comatibilty. Grow up!

  • Love the Final Fight but yeah better ps1 games… Tactics Ogre? Suikoden 2? Hell Old smackdown games or even crash bandicoot anyone? And on another note way too much for the gta stuff its been too long and 9.99 would be nice for the LONG delay but 40 for both?

  • I was hoping for a racing week, but only so I could pick up WipEout Pure and WipEout Pulse on sale – like $20 for both or something.

  • From the look of things, we probably won’t be getting any new free avatar guys. Sony obviously wants to make money and charge for whatever they possibly can. Also, we probably won’t be getting any avatars from 3rd party games since Sony won’t be making full profit off of them. So we’ll probably get avatars from Modnation racers soon after its release. We already have GOW3 ones for free so it doesn’t make sense to release new ones and charge for them. We might actually have to beg 3rd party companies for new avatars. Whether Sony will allow them to be sold on psn is another matter altogether.

  • may i just ask why is it every single freaking ps1 classic is a freaking kids game?
yous do realize there are people above the age of 6 that want to play ps1 classics right?
wheres apocalypse, quake, doom, the suffering, silent hill, resident evil, twisted metal, driver, the getaway and so on?
honestly sony seriously fails in the update department this year.
the last thing i downloaded from the PSN store was the GOW3 video a few months ago!
come on sony, M$ is absolutely raping your a$$ in the downloadable games department!!!!!!!
sony + downloadable games = EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
