MLB 10 The Show AL Central Predictions

Baseball fans –

Next up on our divisional predictions series is the American League Central. This division hasn’t had a repeat champion since the Twins in 1994 and there looks to be a lot of parity again this year, so first place could be up for grabs.

With a new ballpark in Target Field and a reigning MVP (and MLB 10 The Show cover athlete) in Joe Mauer, the Twins look poised to break this trend and repeat as division champs. The Tigers are looking to redeem themselves after last year’s late season collapse and hope perennial All-Stars Magglio Ordonez and Justin Verlander are ready to lead the charge. The White Sox should be contenders this year as well, with a stellar starting rotation in Mark Buehrle and Jake Peavy. The Royals, on the other hand, have finished over .500 only once since 1994. I’m not sure if this year will be any different, but at least they have an ace in reigning Cy Young winner Zack Greinke to give the fans something to cheer about. And then there’s the Indians…we’re not expecting much this year, but with Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner anchoring your lineup, I guess anything’s possible.

Here’s a look at our final AL Central predictions video showing you which teams will come out on top this October according to MLB 10 The Show.

There is no way the Indians are going to loose over 100 games!

Um, hello? The Twins won it in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Not to mention 2006 and 2009. Do your research, please.

Okay, the video had it right, but the article had a typo.

Even with all their young talent there’s no way Cleveland finishes in a tie for last place with KC. Being the youngest team in the majors with a whole new coaching staff gives them the sense to prove themselves and they will not go away so easily. It could very well be MIN at the top but CHI, DET, and CLE are all so close that those 3 could easily swap places because even with the addition of Omar, Chicago is still just too unreliable with their defense.

@3 You may have a point with 2002, but 2006 and 2009 are invalid because the video was talking about back-to-back wins. Even then because they were talking about back-to-back they really only have to count the last two years of the run so they are entirely in the right for leaving out 2002. They did their research, you just failed to comprehend.

I can see number 3’s point though, the article makes it sound like the division is always up for grabs, when really the twins have dominated for the last ten years or so in terms of titles. And that’s kind of a silly error on the part of the person who wrote that, I mean 1994 was the first year the AL Central even existed, LOL.

I would love this SO much — if baseball didn’t bore me to tears that is.

Absolutely. I read the article before watching the video. The video does indeed get it right, however. But the Twins have won it back-to-back a couple times since 1994, and the post says the Twins won it back-to-back in 1994.

Reasonable predictions but KC finishing about Cleveland? We shall see about that.

Any chance of getting an update to the PSP version of this game? There are some serious issues with the AI and it would be nice to get an update.

Also, yes, please update the PSP version as there are some major fielding bugs in RTTS and I want to be able to purchase training points via PS Store. Thanks!
