SOCOM 4: Meet Your Squad

68 0

Hey SOCOM fans. Back in March, we announced SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs and shed some light on the single-player campaign, storyline and central characters. Today, we’d like to provide some intel on the key members of your squad…

SOCOM 4 squad

Cullen Gray (“OpsCom”)
Force: NATO ISF
Age: 36
Leading the charge is Operations Commander, Cullen Gray. Born the son of a naval analyst and a civilian geologist, Cullen Gray’s service record is the stuff of legends. While renowned for quickly and quietly resolving some of NATO’s most tenuous situations, psychologically his profile is still something of a mystery. Routine profiling shows that he is withdrawn and cynical, choosing to socialize little with colleagues and showing a distinct lack of empathy for those unwilling to comply with his directives.

Park Yoon-Hee (“Forty-Five”)
Force: South Korean 707th Special Missions Battalion
Age: 30
Park Yoon-Hee got her start in the Southern Korean 707th Special Mission Battalion. Within eighteen months she was attached to the 45th Special Forces Brigade after the Korean military relaxed restrictions for female officers, allowing them to serve on active duty abroad. In addition to her quick thinking under pressure, Park is an expert in covert operations, CQB and has considerable experience working in hostile environments.

Dion Wells
Force: U.S. Navy SEALs
Age: 34
Dion Wells is a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy SEALs, where he specializes in security operations, explosives and HALO. Despite his laid-back demeanor and patience noted in personnel reports, Wells has a solid combat history and is highly regarded for his ability to assist commanding officers with unit direction and tactics in the field. Self-considered as a “right hand man”, CPO Wells has established a strong affiliation with OpsCom over the course of several operations.

Eric Schweitzer
Force: U.S. Navy SEALs
Age: 30
Eric Schweitzer grew up in a reclusive Western Pennsylvanian community, and records indicate a long and troubled journey through several schools. Eric was accepted into the SEALs just three years after being recruited into the Navy as an EOD technician. Cynical and highly vocal, Schweitzer is nevertheless a competent operative, allowing teammates to overlook his attitude in most cases. Generally deployed as a Heavy Weapons Operator, Schweitzer is in his element when combat is at its most intense.

Chung Kwan
Force: South Korean 707th Special Missions Battalion
Age: 25
After a short career in the KNP’s S.W.A.T division as an electronics countermeasure specialist, Chung entered the Korean Armed Forces at the age of 23. Honed by his police experience, Chung brings considerable tactical and analytical skills to his work. Commended for his abilities as a forward observer, Chung was given an opportunity to join the 45th SF Bridgade in their task to provide reconnaissance and technical skills for allied operations.

  • @ Gunwing

How do you know they are using the U2 engine??
    Have i missed something?
Not saying you’re wrong, or that S4 doesn’t look good, cause it looks awesome so far, but i was just wondering if this had been confirmed somewhere?

  • well we will see if its a grate war game./. i bet it will not be that good… as B/C 2

  • at above…

Have you ever played a Socom game before??
    Socom:Confrontation doesn’t count.

  • @x-former is socom:confrontation dosn’t count then i never played a socom game,,,,,, oh wait it does count

  • @Ol-BOY-66 metal gear solid 4: guns of the patriots is my fav shooter game ever, 1000000000000000 times better than BFBC2

  • I kinda surprised to see that the two korean folks are listed with their surnames in the front instead of having that “romanized” and placed behind their “first” name.

  • Hi Zipper!

I have ONE very important request that really would be of great value if you could have in consideration.

I Know that you guys are in full production and have all the key scenes in Single Player done and the script well implemented in the game. BUT I really hope that it is a good and engaging Single Playr that stands out! Right know I fear that it will be the traditional military shooter where you infiltrate a sub marine base or attacking a camp in a Forrest. That have been done one thousand times. I really hope that the story is modern, fresh and keeps a good level of amazing et pieces. The best would be if it could take place in modern city’s and not in a TYPICAL BORING urban city in Afghanistan. SOCOM 4 have a great opportunity to be a great way to get a good slice of the market share in FPS/TPS market. But if you make the same boring levels like the latest SOCOM on PSP or every other PSP/PS2 games in the past you will have a low sales.

    So to recap:
PLEASE make the story interesting and engaging and not the TYPICAL shooter that everyone is bored whit. Make it modern, make it fresh, make it awesome.

  • can’t wait 4 da game XD

  • EASTC0AST_GH05T

Looking forward to this game I have faith in Zipper I know they wont screw this one up like the last devs did with confrontation. This will be the real new Socom game all of us die-hard fans have been waiting for.

  • Boomer? He died in CA. lol. I just started re-playing the SOCOM series again this past weekend. Still a ton of fun.

  • Please don’t make the PS Move make this game bad.

  • is a beta needed?

Socom confrontation and MAG were basically beta versions of socom 4. sony was good at milking our money! they copied call of duty where they would release a half ass game by another developer and then release a full game after. socom confrontation was possibly the worst made game ever and i’m not even one of those socom freaks! give us a full product to justify our $60 purchases!

  • Looks good though the player models look a little to clean. My suggestion is to dirty them up a bit.

  • Please tell me you guys are going to use a better lobby system than Confrontation used. Operating a server side lobby is extremely annoying to navigate. Also not being able to access specific features on the retail disc (movies) unless servers are accessible was a terrible idea. Having to navigate large clan and friend lists just to access menu options was another poor idea.

Having a campaign alone is enough to justify a purchase and any co-op play would just be a huge plus. If the online lobby system isn’t an improvement from SOCOM: Confrontation, then I will be selling the game after completion.

Can’t wait to see more SOCOM4 footage!

  • The Sony Move will ruin this game. A point and shoot device will make it easy for a noob to use it to play the game, but putting it in the hands of a veteran player obviously provides a big advantage. Its common sense. If your a fan of SOCOM online play I would RENT FIRST!

  • My biggest “hope” is that Zipper brings back the skill required to play that this game it built its foundation of loyal and enthusiastic fans on. This is the game that the adults love to play because most of the A.D.D. and RESPAWN (it just sounds gay…) centric games that our substance deprived youth don’t have the patience or the smarts to play avoid. There is a difference between the real deal SOCOMer’s and the easily appeased COD dweebs. PLEASE embrase thr skill, challenge, realism, and effort, required to master this once GREAT game we all loved to play religeously.
GIVE ME BACK MY SOCRACK! GIVE ME THE GAME THAT DRUG MY ASS TO WORK DOGGED OUT ON MONDAY AFTER A BI*@!IN CLAN MATCH THAT I SWORE I WOULDN’T STAY UP FOR… AGAIN! LEMME SEE THAT GAME I PLAYED TILL THE SUN CAME UP ON A DAY I HAD WAY TO MUCH TOO DO… AGAIN! I WANT TO ARGUE WITH OTHER SOCOM NERDS LIKE ME ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THE GUNS SOUND REAL AND HAVE SIMILAR RECOIL TO THE REAL THING! BRING BACK THE TACTICAL!

LETS SEE SOME FREAKING EFFORT TO MAKE THIS AS EPIC AS WE ALL KNOW IT SHOULD BE! BRING BACK SOCOM!

Sorry for the rant. 1st post ever and probably the last.

    Cooter aka Anti-Seal out.

  • put a training with instructor mode for multiplayer and a shooting range like in metal gear solid 4 and take off the crosshairs like in flashpoint:dragon rising hardcore.
