101 7

Hello Everyone! Here at Ludia we’re excited to invite you to COME ON DOWN to play The Price Is Right on your PlayStation 3. I know that pretty much everyone has seen the show at one time or another since it’s been on the air for more than 38 years. Luckily, you don’t have to be sick or playing hookey anymore to get an awesome Price Is Right experience, as we’ve faithfully recreated the elements you know and love from the TV show into the game. There’s nothing quite like being called to Contestant’s Row by Rich Fields!

The Price Is Right is one of our most successful titles, and Ludia’s first game show game for PlayStation 3, so we’ve packed it with tons of pricing games (19 to be exact) including favorites like Plinko, Hole In One, and, of course, Cliffhangers. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to spin that Big Wheel to get yourself to the Showcase for a chance to win the most fabulous prizes, now is your chance to find out.

You can download The Price is Right later today from the PlayStation Store, and please be sure to let us know what you think of the game. We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it!

  • One Dollar!

  • wait wat how much iz diz B ii aint tryin too get ripped off BIG dawg hook me up just 1 time HOOD

  • I wish the host was Bob Barker! Still, it looks like it could be fun. I hope after every game they at least ask us to “spay and neuter our pets” lol.

  • Is there an online mode? If so then this sounds pretty cool!

  • I cant wait to come on down

  • The show everyone watches when there on a day off or a sick day. Thanks whomever greenlit this!

  • This… actually makes me smile. Can’t wait for some of that Plinko.

  • Is it free? Because when it’s free, The Price Is Right!

  • Anyone else find it funny that the only rating “warning” is that there are references to Alcohol? And no Plinko tease?

  • Awesome! I love the price is right! If it has an online feature, I will surely download!

  • I see a massive lack of Bob Barker.

  • And the price is right? How much? :)

  • Will there be an unlockable Bob Barker skin?

  • Is the price right?

  • hmmm looks cool will bob Barker be an unlock-able skin?

  • Its kinda weird to advertise a game like this then not say its price, especially when the game is The Price is Right.

I actually might get this, I used to watch it when I was a kid.

  • I love how TPIR has never changed their cheesy 70’s music!!!

  • My mother loves this show so I will probably have to pick up a PSN card today :). But how much is the game I noticed no price tag on this one.

  • I dont know how fun online would be if you had to sit back and watch other contestants play games while you waited to see if you could possibly make it to showcase showdown. Something tells me this will be leaderboards only. Would like to hear more about the features of this game but it does have my attention so far. We’ll just have to wait and see if the price is literally “right”.

  • I’d so buy this if Bob Barker was in it. =(

lol but anyways, how much is this gonna cost? Is there online play? 1080p?

  • LOLOLOL
when i only read the title of the article i thought the ps3 was having a price reduction…price is right…

  • Can you promise me Plinko or the Mountain Yodeler game?

  • I know they have a console version but on the Wii so it will more likely be the same price on the PSN Store.

  • Seeing as the entire game show is based on an advertisment of all of these different products, shouldn’t this be free?

  • P.S. “Don’t forget to spay or neuter your pets today!” — Bob Barker

  • I may have to pick this up…if the price is right. (Bad pun intended)

  • I will get this, if the price is right!
I hear Press your Luck and Family Feud are also coming soon, according to Ludia’s website.

  • It actually predates the Wii version. Both that version and this one are based off the iPhone game. It’s fun, though. Just don’t expect high graphics quality or a very long game. If it’s more than $4.99 it’s a rip-off.

  • @1

    Best “first” ever.

  • Man I hope you can spin the big wheel using six axis!

  • ehh…. cartoony…

  • awesome news, but first give me my modnation racers demo!!!

  • lol! My grandma would love this game

  • Looks fun. But you guys really really should have made the graphics better it looks awful…

  • Got this game for the Wii; it sucks!

  • @1 & @29
    AGREED

    Ill Bid 2 Dollars!!!
Doesnt that just piss you off? Shouldnt bid 1 Dollar so quickly, ill just cover your bid with 1 more Dollar!

  • A Wii Port? Really? I wouldn’t expect a rousing success with this one.

  • I loved this show growing up, I really want to pick this up.

  • Awesome, though im disapointed it’s just a port and graphics wise it doesn’t look that great.

If the price is right i may buy it..haha

  • What are some of the prizes? I hope to win a toaster! Or a new car! Or a Bob Barker plushie!

  • I hope the price of the game is right:p

Serious question: Is Punch a Bunch in the game?
(and is there a dude behind there putting $ amounts behind the punched holes in a way that makes for better TV):p

Seriously that game was so clearly rigged.

  • Family Feud.

  • Not sure how The clock game is going to work.

How am I going to be able to go:

    750? Higher
    760? Lower
    751,2,3,4,5,6 ding ding ding?

    • It’s actually works nicely with your dPad or left stick.

You select which digit you want to input, then hit up or down to on the number to increase/decrease it. Hitting X enters your value, the host answers if it’s higher or lower, and you enter your next value.

Since the value you enter doesn’t clear and your cursor position remains the same, you can just highlight the last digit, hit X, then up to quickly increase your bid.

  • You should give out real prizes to promote this game. And let Canadians win, Canadians cant win anything. Come on, Canadian developers need to help the Canadian gamers out in this respect.

As I figured its the same as the iPhone game. I was so happy to play it when I got it and it was a let down, just as this will be. Had I not played the iPhone version I probably would have bought this. Looks like I just saved $10-15 dollars.

  • IGN gave the wii, pc, and ds versions of this game really low scores. Unless they made some substantial changes to this game, I’d recommend skipping it.

  • Same here- I thought this was an announcement for a PS3 price drop. Strangely, it wasn’t actually a good feeling that overcame me…

  • This looks cute, who’s hosting Bob or Drew?

  • According to the press release on Ludia’s web site, the price will be $9.99.

Canadian laws make it difficult to open many contests to the Great White North. (And Quebec likes making things even more difficult for the ones that try to run them up there.)

If the contest were hosted in-game, then it might work, since they could argue that it’s a game of skill rather than a game of chance.
