This looks pretty fun, but really similar to Zombie Apocalypse. I hope Dead Nation can stand out enough to warrant a purchase from me.

it would be nice if Sony would ever fix this thing called a browser as i still cannot watch these video postings on the blog. if they have the technology to have 3D, then they should be able to do something about this problem. it’s only been since last october that this problem started.

I love the zombie genre, with that I just have 2 questions about this game:
1.) Will there be online multiplayer or local only?
2.) Is this an arena shooter like SmashTV or more stage driven like Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Left for Dead?

@2 Your logic fails…what is it that drives you to type something like that. This game is by Housemarque creators of the amazing Super Stardust HD I have Burn Zombie Burn…that doesn’t mean I won’t be picking up Dead Nation.

Will it have Online Co-Op?
REALLY wish this game wasn’t taking so long to come out. And no online co-op would be a deal breaker.

The whole idea of you representing your country and having a stat-tracker showing how many zombies each nation has killed and how far we’ve driven down the infection is pretty neat.
Price is going to be key. This looks better than zombie apocolypse (one of my favorite psn games) with more zombies, more zombie variety, more weapons, bigger maps, better visuals/lighting. I tihnk I got ZA for $15 so I’m interested in how much this will be. Also, only 2-player? 4-player was key in ZA.
Please fix the Video content update blog post. The blog wont load past the embeded video in IE(even in compatability mode).

it’s useless to post videos that aren’t able to be watched by the ps3 community and then expect us to search online for other sources that may have it in a compatible format .

What is Dead Nation? With a title like that Jeff, you simply could have ended the blog with the following:
“…only the greatest arcade-style twin-stick zombie epic EVER!!”
And it would have been perfectly accurate. I’m having a hard time picking my digital game of the show with titles like this, Scott Pilrim, Shank, etc. Dead Nation is so damned good…I kept checking all the vehicle trunks, loved finishing off the undead with melee kills.
Looks outstanding, hope there’s as much of a story as possible. Will buy on day one either way though.

That’s pretty freakin’ cool. It’s kind of funny how some people are saying “enough zombie games” when just a few years ago they were begging for more. Ironically, I’m betting the reason there are so many is because of the constant begging and the length of a development cycle for new game development.

Oh, but as for those asking whether or not it has online co-op, I think you already know the answer. If they DID have it, they be announcing it from the rooftops- it’d probably be the key selling point.
By the way, I own and have played Zombie Apocalypse: I was bored with it two hours in- it doesn’t even stand up to Burn Zombie Burn (an admittedly great game), so it sure as hell doesn’t stand up to this.

I’m probably going to but this even though I felt burnt by dead nation. Superstardust was way better than DN so I hope this lives up to that.
Online + Offline four player co-oop would be my most wanted feature.

Are Burn Zombie Burn and Zombie Apocalypse just repetitive arena-based games with nothing else to do besides run in circles? Yes.
Is Dead Nation being developed by Housemarque, the genius developer behind the first truly masterful PSN game, Super Stardust HD? Yes.
Does Dead Nation put the competition to shame with vastly superior visuals? Dear god, yes.
