I like the new update and people need to stop complaining about cross game chat. If you like to talk to your psn buddies that much then chat without playing different games. Sony might be waiting for Playstation+ to get up to speed and offer CrossGame Chat along with Plus subscriptions

I tried out the video editor today… it’s great! But I can think of a few things to improve. Like, maybe make it possible for us to use our own music? The stuff you put on there is really lame (:p. And maybe a little more user friendly??? But its a good step I like it alot, great stuff!

God shut the hell up already. If you can’t afford PlayStation Plus, don’t buy it. Don’t cry about not being able to get it. There are a bunch of features added this update that aren’t related to Plus. Also if you come to an OFFICIAL PlayStation website expect the site to tow the company line. Stop being idiots and think about where you are and what you are doing here. Don’t complain about it when someone who’s checks are signed by Sony say nothing but wonderful things about Sony.

Am I missing something?

Does the video editor not work with the playstation eye’s videos?
And does it not capture video?

Even after recording with the new firmware (through the playstation eye’s software), the new editor will not load it.

guy209 said:

The trophy level displaying on psn id is cool but can you have the percentage to next level on it. And also in the ticker box when you get a message can you display how many messages we have that are unread. Also on friends list can we have more detailed gamer cards. Another feature is cross game chat. deleting 0 percent trophies off of trophies list. A faster in game xmb as in no load times. But this is a great update. You just need to pay attention to making things more detailed and using commonsense with certain features!!!

I agree with ART-IS-WAR. I mean with the whole 5 account rule. There honestly shouldnt be that constricting of a limit. There has to be a better way to do this. A larger number or an easier way to deactivate you account from all systems at once. Something would be better than getting your new ps3 and then not being able to download because you forgot to deactivate your account.

Sony’s Not Dumb If We Do Get XGVC It’ll Be A Plus Feature. Watch All The Belly Aching When They Do That. Alot Of PSN Users Are Used To Free Ish But If Paying For Plus Help Sony Build A Better Network I’m All For It. I Just Hope They Add More Stuff To Home For Plus Members Also, There’ll Be More Belly Aching If They Do That. For The People That Think XGVC Is Useless Don’t Use It. No 1 Is Forcing You To Conversate. Signed Up For 1Yr Of Plus Last Night, Use My $50 Wisely Sony Lol. The Gaming Gods Require Sacrifice So For All Of Those It Should Be for Everybody Folks Pay Yo Fare Or Sony Don’t Care LOl. Just Be Grateful You Can Play Online & Access The Store For FREE. It’s Free To Us But Cost Sony $. And To People Crying About Plus Saying I Can’t Keep The Stuff I Bought, What Stuff Did You Buy? We Are Basically RENTING All This Content. If You Buy Something With Your Plus Discount It’s Yours To Keep, Not The Free Dl’s. I’d Love XGVC Because I Have Real Friends On PSN.

PS+ is awesome, ratings system is awesome, photo/video crap is entirely useless. I messed around with it a while and found it completely worthless. WHY do you keep giving us crap that nobody asked for and has no purpose while TAKING AWAY things that we all want and use?!? Look at the share site you gave us, READ what we have to say and GIVE US THAT STUFF!!! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, SONY!!! THIS UPDATE IS CRAP!!!

Wow, features?

YOU are ADDING features?

At least now you are attempting to give people a reason to upgrade.

Still not anywhere near good enough.

The hackers lost, give us back OtherOS.

June 29th, 1:56 pm

I agree with #10. These things should be on top of the things that we ask for. I don’t recall anybody asking for this. They are good though but even better as additions.

The video editor isn’t very useful at all. A YouTube or Facebook XMB app would be more suitable. This may be too much clutter on the XMB.. That and the extra PSstore logos under other categories.. We appreciate the new features, but when it doesn’t work out.. It’s painful. Should’ve just kept Linux for the PS buyers and the U.S. Airforce; Also, focus more on PS2 compatibility and stop making PS2 models. The PS3 will not survive.

I really like the Video Editor & Uploader

This is very useful for me doing videos

for instance like using a EyeCreate Software and my PlayStation EYE
And then I will be to use my PlayStation EYE to do capture videos
and then use the Video Editor Feature to upload the recorded video
to Facebook and YouTube.

This is my favorite feature in the update.

Very happy with it.

MasonF123 said:

I like the video editor, but one thing that’s HUGE for video people like myself, is for in-game screen recorders. If you could add some sort of program that would allow us to record our game play that would make a lot of people happy even if it was a plus only feature. Along with the capability to listen to music from the XMB in game.

I want the ability to set what gets automatically downloaded. After setting the auto download to stop at 6am, it was still running at 6:30 – downloading 2 game demos . . . for games that I already have the full version of.

Please put in the option to disable different types of downloads as I am not interested in game demos, and am on a capped internet plan.

Photo Gallery: Please let me select “no music” for a slideshow. While viewing a slideshow, let me zoom in on an image, as well as pan the image. Let me create a playlist from Facebook photos. Also you’re going to have to do some caching with Facebook – I have fewer than 100 friends yet it still takes like half a minute to show each one of them. For extra credit let me copy images from FB to my PS3. I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to enter a Facebook comment on a photo right from my PS3.

Video: Can’t say much about it other than I can’t get it to work. It wouldn’t import existing videos, even those from MLB09 or EyeCreate, saying that it couldn’t use videos created with system software prior to 3.40. I can’t think of any valid reason for that, but whatever. I used EyeCreate and the PlaystationEye to record a new video. The video editor wouldn’t add that one either, giving the same error message. What exactly is this thing *supposed* to work with?

Would be great if the video editing tool could be used to edit videos recorded in game, the work around is to just copy the clip to a memory stick and back… why would you want to restrict peoples creativity :P

So this update has ruined my PSN network experience, I am able to be on the network for 5 mins before getting the (Keep getting the error 8002A535) and then booted off the Network.

Any suggestions why this is doing this? I have run the network settings, and re-did the net work connection. Give me a rollback on the update cause this sucks.

Sony still hasn’t provided any reasonable way for me to get together with my friends and game online.

They keep adding random features that would be associated with having online friends to play games with. Yet the overall functionality is still unusable.

I need to be able to talk to my friends at the system level, decide what game to play, get into the game, and play it. That is what cross game chat is about. Without this ability, I can’t get any sort of gaming going with my online friends without resorting to some outside method (like telephone)… and that’s clunky and awkward, and it rarely actually happens because it’s clunky and awkward.

So at the end of the day, I barely game with my online friends at all. And I want to.

Sony, please take a look at how your system is actually used. It’s not just about having the list of features, it’s about being able to really use them together in a meaningful way. I think that concept is getting lost in the shuffle sometimes.

I have now the ability to UPLOAD videos from my PS3 to Facebook.
I also have an EyeToy with EyeCreate with the ability to CREATE videos.
Fix this problem if at all possible please.
I noticed that I can use my Sony CyberShot to put videos from my camera to the PS3 to Facebook, but I’d rather just use my EyeToy.

The “Group Content” feature for the PSP is great, but could you please patch it so that it saves your settings? Every time you exit out of the XMB it resets and you have to group again. PS3 saves the setting, please make it so for the PSP as well.
