The Resurgence Package is here! The second game add-on for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on PSN, and brings with it five additional multiplayer maps, including some of the most unique and awesome places you’ll ever have a firefight.
As always, we’re focused on bringing a little something for everyone in the Resurgence Package. Take Carnival, a desolate and large amusement park that’s perfect for objective gametypes and offers some amazing vantage points atop the wooden roller coaster “Dragon’s Den” or the looming sniper spot positioned high above “The World Of Tomorrow.” This place is like nothing you’ve ever seen in multiplayer before, with distinct locations all around the map which are perfect for calling out enemy positions and working tactically with your team.
Fuel is a sniper’s haven in this massive desert oil refinery with wide-open areas and extremely long sightlines. If you’re running and gunning, stick to the buildings in the center or take the underground tunnel route to get out to the snipers in the surrounding rocks and oil pumps. Trailer Park is maze of thin sheet metal fencing, torn up trailer units, and cluttered recreation areas. Trailer Park is ideal for the FMJ mod, and offers some insane Headquarters matches due to the soft cover points and thin walls that surround the objectives. We’ve also brought back two more fan favorite and classic Call of Duty 4 maps; Vacant and Strike. We’ve made some key tactical changes to both maps that veteran Call of Duty 4 players will pick up and start taking advantage of immediately. Such as the opening of the back room by Objective point C in the marketplace on Strike, and the now more accessible top floor of the flower shop overlooking the main street. On Vacant, the back gate of the office complex that leads to the hallway will now be open on specific gametypes like Demolition to give the defending team a faster route to the objective.
That’s just a bit of the new details you’re about to discover when you jump online and start exploring the five new locations the Resurgence Package adds to Modern Warfare 2. You’ll also notice we’ve changed up the playlists to introduce some new game modes and accommodate the new maps. You can now choose to play exclusively on the new Resurgence maps by choosing one of the two Resurgence playlists at the bottom. Just like last time, Resurgence and Hardcore Resurgence offers a variety of game modes to play. We’ve also introduced two completely new mosh-pit style playlists called “Barebones Pro” and “Objective Barebones Pro” which both have Killstreak Rewards disabled. So set up a new create a class, strip off Cold Blooded because you won’t be needing that, and see what it’s like to go head-to-head with no air support to worry about.
Most importantly though, let us know what you think. We’ll continue to change up the playlists based on YOUR feedback. AntoniusCaliber, your right we should have gun pack updates. It would make the game much more fun, and maybe do something like RDR did where you can pick your person, that would be the best. but other then that ^, i have no complaints about MW2

YES! thank you! you know what I did when people ask to play headshots? I said sure, let them get a few then shoot them with a RPG!!! They get pissed and either cuss at me then leave or still play hoping to show me who’s boss.

I never heard of him. I don’t really look up videos of the game lol but i will some time soon. Seriously though, IW needs to bring back Cage Match. If i bored of the game, instead of turning it off I can just go on cage match and play 1v1!
your so true… i feel the same way. and like us, many others, i´m on ps3 and it´s getting hard to enjoy this game as i once did… one more thing, isn´t iw supposed to improved or put in new stuff to the game? so why are they taking away? wtf… i really don´t understant. i have waw, it sucks online, but look to what they did to the playlists, why don´t iw do the same??? IW???? WHY????
we have the same feeling towards the game! When i first bought a ps3 off my friend he gave me cod4, and since that was the only game i had i’d always play it! I became in love with it! A few of my friends came over and we made multiple different songs and jingles. Then i got WAW, i was disappointed. Zombies was fun as hell then MW2 came out. I still play it but its too easy. If the gameplay coud be like cod4 I would be a very happy guy. Now what you were saying. IW should only add good things into the most played game.

it looks like iw doesn´t care… why foourzerotwo stopped replying? this realy sucks, i can´t guet a single good match, if this is how it´s going to be, i´m realy considering in stop playing mw2, i don´t whant to play a game that i have to spend all the time rage quiting becouse of boosters. and for your information iw, go check on ps3 how many players are in both barebones playlists, cage match used to have at least 3000, bareborenes doesn´t guet even closer. so once again, thank you very much iw…
After reading a lot of the posts through the last 10 pages it seems as though the thought process is the same, however; I am beginning to wonder if Infinity Ward is really responsible. They did create the game, but they may no longer have any “real” control over it. The issues need to be fixed (OMA, Rock on fuel, Play lists, etc) but maybe these complaints need to go to Activision, after all they are who really got most of our cash. Through reading there has obviously been a falling out between them, lawsuits are pending and they have more pressing issues. I hope that someone takes responsibility and fixes these issues soon before they lose the support of the people spending the cash for another game with no support.
Infinity Ward and Activision has equal rights to the Call Of Duty title, as you could’ve guessed. I used to LOVE playing Call Of Duty 3 on my xbox. That specific game made me a WWII fanatic. I love the guns of that era, and my favorite! D-Day. What I’m trying to say is that maybe Activision and Infinity Ward should get together and make an epic game like COD3. Not necessarily WWII but something just as good.
AMB_TUGA, you make a very good point. Cage match was the hands down the [DELETED]! I used to just play team death match or headquarters, if i get pissed about glitching or just plain sucking for that match, I go to cage match and win. Then go back to death match or free for all.

Sorry for being weeks late, I’m quite interested the looks on ‘Resurgence Map Pack, but isn’t it abit to overpriced and like should be $10 under, £5 under as I know Activision is in-charge of the financial business, but for 5 maps. 2 of them CoD4 maps just refurbished ‘from the dust, and the same made mechanics, tools, engines etc. extracted from CoD4 to make the new maps are abit over the fence. If being this price you could of provide us with more ‘guns’ more storyline missions or even so Spec Ops and more than 5 multiplayer maps being to provide this being additional-contant. What is your opinion on this Robert Bowling.

Looking forward to next map pack – apart from Carnival a bit disappointed with the new ones – too flat, need some more 3D thinking (height and elevation).
How about an old, very large mansion (Estate but 1000 times more detail) with multiple floors, dark cellars, family crypt, secret passages…

new playlists are now live to xbox… ctf came back, and you have now hc mosh pit, once again will have to whait i think a week to ps3 users. i wish i could know what the hell xbox as that we don´t. and after all the requests to bring back cage, iw looks like simple ignored. well if that is, for me i had enougth. i´m not playing mw2 anymore, just going to wait for black ops. i´ve grown tyered of boosters and iw desrespecting all mw2 owners, especialy ps3 users.
I downloaded and installed the resurgance pack but have no idea where it is. How do I get to it?!?!?!?

did you check if you downloaded the correct file for your game disc cod? blus… or bles… in my case i have to download the file with disc cod bles-00683
affter you install the pack you cannot locate it on the sistem, that is a file that installs on the game data, you will find it on the playlists, if you delete game data you will also delete your map packs
I live in an area that has no access to the internet other than dial-up (Buzzzzz!) or satellite. I have Hughes Net. Download restrictions are beyond a pain. Often have to update after 11 pm. Anyway the delay prevents me from ever playing on-line. Are these new maps for COD or Resistance only usable in the online mode (it reads that way to me)? I’d like to play on new maps in single player or have the option with co-op too. Am I out of luck as on-line is not an option for me.
PS:anyone know if cell G4 is fast enough to access on-line gaming? The Evo 4 can act as a router for up to 8 devices ($30 month) but it will be a few more months before it hits the Phoenix area.

@AntoniusCaliber i agree to the guns i feel that adding the dragonov and other guns in like a gun pack will also make some buck…… because if you think about it everyone is used to the guns…if you add new ones and better ones they will be forced to see that they need those guns and i feel that that will be another thing hitting the pockets of the psn….
I bought the upgrade on my PS3 and couldn’t wait to see the new maps. That was 2 weeks ago and I still can’t wait to see the new maps. What else do you have to do besides give up your money? I can’t figure out how to get it to work. Someone help a part-timer.

I didn’t see anything about blus or bles or cod or code when I downloaded, but like the other poster, I’ve downloaded at least 3 times.
can infinityward make an update so the AUGbar has a scope :) btw i like the carnival,its kinda spooky when somebody use an AC130 there hahaha MW2 is very fun game if there is nbo glitch
