Continuing our goal to provide the most content-rich entertainment platform in the living room to the PlayStation community, I’m excited to announce that beginning today, the preview of Hulu Plus is available on the PlayStation 3 in the U.S., the first and only console with dedicated gaming functionality that will offer Hulu Plus this year.
If you don’t know, Hulu Plus is Hulu’s new subscription service offering full current season runs of hit TV programs from ABC, FOX and NBC, adding even more premium video content to the more than 23,000 movies and TV episodes already available on the PlayStation Store.
So how do you get Hulu Plus? Well, starting today, a select group of PlayStation Plus subscribers can gain access to a preview version of Hulu Plus. All PlayStation Plus subscribers may download the free Hulu Plus application from the PlayStation Store and, within it, request an invitation to the exclusive preview. If you are accepted, you can access Hulu Plus for an additional $9.99 per month (the fee that Hulu is charging for all Hulu Plus subscribers) and start enjoying its library of television shows and movies from nearly 150 leading content companies streamed on demand in HD.
As Hulu Plus becomes generally available in the coming months, all PlayStation 3 users in the United States will be able to download and subscribe to the full Hulu Plus service and it will also be available on wide range of Sony Electronics Internet-connected entertainment devices, including select BRAVIA TVs and Blu-ray Disc players.
Netflix $9 a month and a netflix disk, no psn plus needed. No ads.

Will The Free Version Of Hulu Be Available On PS3 as well?…..and if Hulu can have app on the ps3, why cant netflix? we need a disk to access netflix…….so many questions that need answering. I’m confused.
Well here’s the honest lowdown for me…I will buy it soon but the free preview is TERRIBLE. I finally made the jump to PS+ and watched a few shows I wouldn’t watch just because I wanted to see Hulu+ in action. I watched Supersize Me even though I saw it a few times already.
Now if you look around (PSN, Amazon, iPods, etc) TV shows cost $2 an episode or so. It is a bargain if you watch two TV shows because that will be 8 episodes a month.
Netflix is totally different, I have had it a long time. It is mostly anything that has been out long enough to be on DVD. The only plus side I see to keeping it are movies and the DVD service when your movie isn’t in digital yet.
Then the downside to Hulu+ is that there is a lack of networks on board. And the fact that I could just go on the computer a few feet away (or HDMI it to the tv) and get more from Hulu for free.
Yeah.. hulu isn’t worth 10 a month. I could be wrong, maybe it’s just me.. but why the hell would i pay for this when i have netflix, a much better survice. Sony, invest more time improving netflix and youtube. This won’t sell, no matter what console it’s on. sorry hulu.. maybe next time.

and the last time i tried to launch hulu plus, i got to a black screen and the ps3 froze.
i deleted the app, again. i am wondering if it is worth trying to install it for a third time…
oh, and to everyone who keeps saying how awesome netflix is – i have had three ps3 netflix discs stop working. (i do like netflix, but it’s incredibly stupid that it requires a disc to run on the ps3.)
ok we cry about 9.99a month for hulu , thats crazy we pay 4 to 6 times that with cable or satellite.the comercials are 3 to 4 minutes long sometimes and we cant really just go and turn on what we want when we want .yes its free from the pc so get ride of your cable then . i dont know it dont seem to bad to me .

Yeah, I mean, we COULD purchase Playstation Plus for $50 per year, and then pay for Hulu Plus for $9.99 per month. Orrrr… We could just get PlayOn for a one-time fee and get Hulu for free. Tough decision.

I have two PS3s at my house. If I use the Hulu Plus,on one PS3, I can’t view it on another PS3 for 24 hours.
How crappy is this?
Can I use Hulu Plus on my TV, then on my IPad in less than 24 hours?
If I can, why can’t I view it on two different PS3 systems, both in my home, at the same time?
I do have Play On, and am thinking of upgrading to the PlayOn premier pass. The problem is that you can’t watch brand new shows on Hulu. I think you can only watch the brand new shows if you have the Hulu Plus account.
Or am I wrong?

Am i able to pay with playstation network cards ? thats my only form of payment
tetrisphere, I had the same problem. I called Hulu support, and they told me to switch my date/time to “set from internet”. This actually worked. Try it out. I think it is “Settings->Set Data/Time->Set Data/Time from Internet” or something like that.
This whole Hulu plus is a scam. First it was free to view via PS3 then suddenly it wasn’t because they said “It wasn’t intended to be played on a TV” Now all of a sudden [for a fee] you can view it again using the PS3. Anyone who pays for a free service needs their head examined. Sorry SONY, I have Netflix already no need to pay for junk. And I bet it streams as bad as the MLB.TV does. Thanks, but NO-THANKS. They are grasping at straws at everything they can to justify having a premium PSN. What I’ve seen so far makes the service a major JOKE. Just Saying…
