  • It’s not letting me download gravity crash…

  • The Stooges on RB makes this a 5 star update for me.

  • @Rakis

They update according to PST. That means between 9am – 5pm PST which is the average working day here. Just because the updates aren’t set according to your timezone, doesn’t mean they aren’t professionals. Seems to update at around 2pm – 5pm PST.

  • Long time reader, first time poster and plus member. Really am surprised by the lack of comprehension skills of some people here. Plus is $50 per year with 1 PSN game, 1 PSOne game, and 2 minis per month. In addition to this, there are dynamic themes, avatars and discounts on select items throughout the month. Once the month is over, the items are gone and new items will be posted. Then there are the advanced demos, advanced beta invitations. Is this so hard to understand?

And exactly what are people expecting? To pay $50 for the year and get $50 worth of goods per month? Sony is in the business of making money and offering products/services to its customers not in the business of running a charity or a fire sale.

  • Does anyone know the release date for Blacklight: Tango Down?

  • @132

So what are they doing the other 4 days of the week that prevents them from updating earlier? Cause it’s not work that’s for certain.

  • You guys whine more than my 3 year old son.

  • Yeah I have to so Ro either doesn’t have a clue what a “real” ps classic is, or he has no clue what’s coming out. Fail classic/fail update.

  • FOR ALL THE PPL WHO TLK ISH ABOUT PLUS I HOPE PSN GOES PAY FOR ONLINE FOR THE UNGREATS THAT YALL ARE.

  • wtb edit feature :(

  • you shouldn’t say anything Xbox live does this method mostly on their demo exclusivity and Xbox live is still an success.

  • not my fault they promised something that they said would be released this week polo155

  • Motor Toon Grand Prix…Really? Sony…I don’t get it. How or why do you put up so much junk quality “PSone Classics” when you should instead wait and spend the time and resources required to get some AAA PSone Classics that you know thousands of us gamers would buy and download from PSN like…

    Chrono Cross
    Mega Man X4
    Mega Man X5
    Mega man X6
    Parasite Eve
    Parasite Eve 2
Xenogears (Japanese PSN got this quite a while ago)

And when are you guys gonna get PS2 B/C up on PSN?

What are these rumors about PC-game engine (or something) and NeoGeo games going up on PSN?

And what about the rumor about PSP games being playing on the PS3?! If that happens, I think a lot of sales will start being seen on PSN. Heck, I wouldn’t mind getting all my PSP games again through PSN as long as my save data works.

  • With the new MMO’s coming soon.It would be a nice incentive that PS+ subscribers don’t have to pay monthly fees or 50% discount on them.

  • so it’s oficial psn+ = no good updates for everyone… the only demo is for psn+ and it is no interesting at all… there is no reason ton enter ps store since long time ago shame on you.

  • could the store get more naruto games for download i wanna get a game for my psp go

  • yeah i havent seen a naruto game on the psn for psp just a dumb demo

  • I did have a problem with the Auto-Update getting the Kane & Lynch 2 demo. My system did turn on fine and download it, however it installed it as “corrupt data”. It wouldn’t try to download it again. At least I can get it now that the store updated.

As for Plus complainers, it is still the first month. They’ve delivered what they promised for the first month. PSN game (Wipeout), 2 minis (Fieldrunners, Age of Zombies), and a PSone game (Rally Cross).

We’ve also gotten free DLC for several games (Cuboid, Magic Orbz, Mahjong Tales, and Smash Cars), three dynamic themes, three regular themes, seven avatars, and some games put on sale.

  • Vampire Knights ep.1 and Godzilla 2000 free not announced, but much appreciated

  • Thanks Grace for your efforts. Just be glad you do not work with or for some of the babies that comment at this site. From someone who bought this new Playstation system in October of 1995 for 299.99, I am impressed with how far this has come. Thanks! and Lighten up you dorks!

  • @145

Godzilla 2000 was free before this update

  • Ha. Gawd, i had to creat a US account, and then use the Search feature to find that US Air Force theme.

CANADIAN USERS -> If you want that free dynamic theme, just do that.

  • Glad I didn’t throw away $50 already on p$+. Looks like I would be wasting every cent of my $50 on crappy games, games I already own, and crappy dlc that came out almost two years ago (Resistance 2 DLC 1/2 off…C’mon!) Give me xgc and maybe I’ll consider it…until then I have skype.

  • ThreeLeggedFreak

Ro Hernandez, Motor Toon Grand Prix is NOT a classic.

And how come Europeans can download LBP and we can’t. What the hell man?

  • Enjoying Gravity Crash and Fly Fu.. considering Archibald’s Adventures. Looking forward to the Gravity Crash DLC levels. Hopefully soon?

I’m hapyp with the PSN update this week. :D

  • Now when are + members going to start seeing their moneys worth? I don’t want free avatars and themes. Should have spent my $50 on Xbox live.

@49 its BS because as usual Sony promised the world with + and so far have delivered nothing of what they promised. Seriously $50 dollars for a few free avatars and some themes..oh sorry and one crappy PSX game and 2 minis…The auto update feature is crap, no cross game chat and the discounts of a couple dollars on garbage titles and add-ons they are trying to sell because no one would buy it in the first place doesn’t sound like premium service too me.

  • To Sony – Thank you! 12 games on sale, at least $9 worth of PS+ Content (not counting freebies), a PS1 game from the eventual creators of one of the greatest racing series in history, rock band and guitar hero tracks, 7 new avatar packs, boatloads of DLC and videos. Awesome update! While I’ve never heard of the Toon Racing game, it’s legacy is undeniable.

To the whiners – All I can say to you people is stuff it and quit whining. Waaa Waaa. This update wasn’t tailored specifically to your every whim. Get over it. This was a really good update. If you aren’t happy with your PS+ subscription you shouldn’t have jumped on until you saw something you really wanted it for. That’s your fault, not Sony’s fault. Personally, i’ve already saved well over half of the $50 I spent.

And “ZOMG Zony won’t responzzzz to my inane wining POSTZZZZ! YYY????”. I wouldn’t respond either, because I would probably make a very unprofessional post (not unlike the one i’m making now) and you would just get even more angry that I’m not pandering to your childlike mind with some fancy bit of butt-kissery.

I’m looking forward to next week’s update. Thank you, guys!

  • I think whoever is responsible for PSN content needs to be replaced. XBLA is getting the Summer of Arcade with great indie games like Limbo. What’s PSN getting this summer? I heard Sony didn’t get back on SuperMeatBoy and missed that. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is another that seems won’t make it to PSN. On PSN there is pretty much nothing comparable coming out, just overpriced iphone games.

  • @150 completely agree. I saw their strategy a mile away. Give us games that no one ever bought or free dlc and themes that should be free anyway. BS pr crap about saving hundreds each month…saving hundreds on games that I would never have bought.

  • xbox live is still number 1
    then its the wii shop
psn is last on the list…

but i still enjoy the games i buy that arent on the psn store

  • totally disapointed in psn plus. seriously. a month now and i feel like sony was completely unprepared for the kind of content they wanted to deliver out of the gate for plus.

this automatic update/download stuff is a total failure. I arranged auto-update for 2pm (EST) which should give enough time for the ps3 to download & install any large demos, videos, etc etc. and i get home and there is no content autodownloaded or installed. So i have to manually download the items from the psn store. Not that i mind doing this, but if you’re going to sell me the automation functionality, why aren’t you delivering on that?

What gives? If your software release date is tuesday and there is no push content available at the time i specify my ps3 to check, then CHECK AGAIN LATER. I have suggested this to ps blog share, and this idea never passed the screening process. Meanwhile “super mario for ps3” passes the screening process.

I look forward to nothing in regards to plus, and i purchased a year on total blind faith. UK PSN plus subscribers are getting fantastic deals, and we’re stuck with themes and avatars. I would rather pay 50 cents for the avatar and call it a day.

  • Man, I agree with all of you. first, this was a pretty lame week(the past weeks have been pretty lame too). Second, All we get this week for PS Plus were some avatars and themes?? What the hey! I signed up so I could get FREE games, and BIG price drops! I mean c’mon, 50.00 dollars!!! Thirdly, why did the updates happen at 5:00 PM PST TIME?!?! Like someone said up there, why can’t Sony have a set time????? I sure hope Sony even reads these comments…

  • I like the fact that they continue to pump out Trinity Universe DLC…. if I COULD FIND THE FRIGGIN GAME! It seems to be sold out everywhere T_T

  • I knew this was coming, now that PS Plus is out, Demos are gonna be hard to come by; if you don’t have PS+.

  • Sony isn’t even selling the psn plus right. I love that all these games were marked down, but i hate that these discounts are not exclusive to those who shelled out the cash for plus. You’re making me feel like my investment in plus was a waste since there are generous discounts already to those who did not subscribe. What better way to persuade people to subscribe to plus than to make temporary store discounts a “plus only” privilege? Then you can show people the value of a subscription.

    Not happy.

  • The good and the bad. Let me start off by saying that I like the psp price drops. Oh and gravity crash for psp. Other than that….it is starting to get quite disappointing to be a ps+ member. Please tell me how I will be getting my $50 worth of content whenever most of what I’m offered, I either own already or don’t want in the first place. Seems like there are better deals for everyone than there are for ps+ members. I’m still waiting to be impressed………..Still waiting. . . . . Oh and I see the people who cry about complainers are back……welcome back @$$holes! Intended sarcasm for those who catch on a little slow.

  • Rakis | July 20th, 2010 at 3:40 pm

How about we start getting PSN store updates that we can set a clock by?

You know, to make it look like the people behind the PSN updates are paid professionals and not high school dropouts that lack time management skills?

Three plus years and the North American PSN store still can’t update at a set time – people should be fired.

    Seriously.

IAWTC. Seriously. This is insulting that you guys can’t have a set time and so it’s basically “wait until 5PM-12AM Tue-Wednesday for the store to update and then be disappointed because:”

  • -Sony has a PSN+ Gold exclusive demo (WTF, leave that bullcrap to MS, plz)
-Sony can’t seem to get it in their heads that people want:

    Breath of Fire 3
    Breath of Fire 4
    Dino Crisis 2
    Parasite Eve
    Parasite Eve 2
    Vagrant Story
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
    Arc the Lad Collection

over “Motor Toon Racing” and “Spec-Ops” and “Disney: (subject shovelware here)”

    On the PS+ note:

    DZORMAGEN | July 20th, 2010 at 3:58 pm

I’m really starting to regret being a PLUS Member. I spent $50.00 to get Free avatars, and themes?

Should’ve regetted it the day it came online and realized you own NOTHING other than purchases, the discounts are a JOKE and it’s nothing more than a $50/yr overglorized rental service.

  • These updates are nothing compared to the Japan’s PSN store updates. They update almost twice as much with content you would actually enjoy. The US’s PSN store expects you to remain satisfied for months with little content. You may think that sounds spoiled, but it really isn’t. It’s called “lack of updates”. Not everyone is going to be interested in the new PSP mini and even if you bought it, they won’t be playing for months on it.

Another thing, get some freaking games up on the PSP PSN store that have been out on UMDs years ago. If the PSP PSN store can’t supply gamers with “new” content every week, actually start thinking and get some UMD games on the PSN store. Not just for the PSPgo users (although this would actually be a nice motive to start with..). Some people prefer to keep their games inside a memory stick, conserve battery power, have faster loading times, and have no scratchy noises while playing the game.

Those who seem happy with the little games and updates sound like fanboys out of the actual audience. I’m surprised there’s still any fanboys left for Sony. If you are actually content with these small updates (DLC aside), you are not much of a gamer.

  • ParanoidUnderdog

I guess its safe to assume that if you havnt purchased Plus we will get crap for demos that are actually good. Was hoping for the kane n lynch 2 demo but thats a notta. Thanks for the Blur demo tho. They kno how to make a good demo to,its not 15 min of boring.

  • @prizefighter – Complaining about complainers is fun. especially when they are so rampant. most rational people dislike entitled brats who whine because things aren’t going exactly as they planned. In order to get your money’s worth out of PS+ you only need to save 96 cents per week. 78 cents if you are an early adopter with 15 months subscription. maybe some people jumped the gun and bought into it too early. Maybe you own all the games already, but it’s only week 3. You’ve still got 49 (or 61) weeks left to get your money’s worth.

Basically, if Sony were to offer 2 avatars a week to PS+ subscribers, they would be offering us plenty of content to cover our costs. As is they are offering us far more content for our money. You won’t be able to take advantage of every offer, every week. that’s just life, and we (collectively) have to grow up and get over it.

  • Why are my comments still awaiting moderation? I make the best points here.

  • I’m sorry, but this disappoints me greatly.
Will get the LBP pack though. :)

  • I hope we get Newer games next month.

  • Holy cats! What a bunch of whiners.

  • My god… I’m astonished at how much people complain, and over such small things.

    Grow up guys. Seriously.

  • Can you PLEASE lower the price on Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines for PSP Go owners???

  • Do you all look at the Wal-Mart weekly flyer and say the same things? So there’s not a lot this week – WHAAAAAA!

You could get no update at all. Would that be better?

  • oh look…another failure of an update…

  • Amazing update.

If you are regretting subscribing to Plus you’re an ignorant fool. Quit whining and moaning like babies. :P
