If you’re heading to the 2010 Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, Washington this weekend, we’ve got a bit of a treat for you: Killzone 3 will be there, and YOU can go hands-on with the game’s multiplayer mode! This will be the first time the Killzone 3 multiplayer mode is accessible to the public, so we’re really anxious to hear what you think. To make sure as many people as possible get a shot, we’ve got 16 multiplayer pods set up, with 8v8 matches rolling over constantly. On top of that there’ll be seven single-player pods available, three of which sport glorious 3D! We’ll be giving away Killzone swag bags at the booth so make sure you get down there early since quantities are limited.

  • I mean KZ2…

  • I cannot wait for the Beta :)

  • So other than exos and jet packs are there any other vehicles? I’m dying for there to be a jeep/buggy x_x. Well?

  • Will we be able to customize PS Move sensitivity and the size and shape of the scroll window? (For example, I would like to have an imaginary narrow, vertical rectangle where the camera is fixed when I point in it. When the cursor moves out of the rectangle the camera starts to pan in that direction.) I wish I was at PAX to see KZ3’s display!

  • I can’t make it to pax… :(

  • So there will be a beta for all? Will it be specific to some players or will there be multiple ways to get in like in KZ2?

  • Oh, and if you’re open to changing the eye-colors of the Helghast (completely reasonable), could you look into changing their primary clothes colors to bright pink? Imagine the humiliation of your opponents. And having different colored enemies would make it easier to mark the more annoying ones for death, rather than having them be interchangeable. (This actually started out as a joke, but seriously, character customization. Most every online multiplayer game allows for it. Probably too late now, but come on.)

  • Wow, I knew there was a beta coming, but this is the first time I saw anyone confirm it. My brother and I are PS+ users. And he is probably one of the most hardcore Killzone fans I know of. He supported you guys since Killzone 1 on PS2 (which is his all time favorite PS2 game) and played (& beat) every game since, not to mention he knows the lore by heart.

He is actually one of the guys who was able to talk (well it was typing in the Killzone Forums) to one of the developers about how Vaulting and the Context sensitive (now called Brutal Kills) melee attacks should have carried over from Killzone 1.

Anywho, here’s to hoping we get to play in the Killzone 3 beta. Cheers GG!

  • I look forward to the beta. Hopefully I will get in.

  • @Devil Boy: LOL, COD never runs at 1080p! not even 720p! its like 640p

Anyways I hope PSN + members get the beta.

  • Can we get a beta code without going to PAX? i live in Spain and i think Europe must have an access… Guerrilla is an european studio so… i hope to have acces at one beta here, at Europe!

    Thanks!

  • Getting into the Beta is my top priority, I won’t be driving 5 hours to Seattle and arguing my way through immigration just for a ‘chance’ to win a beta code though.

I won a 7.1 surround sound HTiB and a 55′ 3D TV with glasses, I will buy PS Move as soon as I get this game or get into the beta.

    Choose PS+ subscribers!

  • Aryeh, I totally wish I could go to PAX (or any of the conventions for that matter), but don’t live near any of them anymore… Killzone 3 is probably the top on my list for next PS3 game. I mean I may check out the Move, but Killzone was awesome, Killzone 2’s storyline was epic, and I’m just dying to see how 3 is gonna be!

  • This game is gonna kill it!

  • I agree beta for PS + Subscribers!

  • 1.) I absolutely LOVE Helghast propaganda posters.
2.) We NEED more Killzone avatars for our PSN ID.
3.) Also, Dynamic themes would be pretty rad. :]
4.) I would also like to thank everyone who made “my killzone” on Killzone.com possible. I’m looking forward to visiting it again when killzone 3 is released.
5.) As grueling as Elite mode was, I had a blast playing through it (well, up until the 2nd checkpoint in the Radec fight, that just made me bleed liquid hate from every bodily orifice.] I just want to thank everyone at GG who, after hours of arduous labor, found the perfect balance of “challenging” and “fun” and I hope Killzone 3 doesn’t disappoint :]

Quick question, will our partner AI be….at the very least smarter than the enemy AI?

Also, where are the Helghast women?
    [are they hot? :P]

  • I haven’t finished Killzone 2! Mock me!

  • @Aryeh Loeb sorry im late, im a big killzone fan, I got them all, quick question Can you pass my idea on to the Guerrilla Games team to look at, if they have time, my idea on share is the link attached. Being able to access replays, rankings etc. from the game would be awesome, instead of using the buggy PS3 web browser that doesnt support the videos. Also like others said, Avatars(yours is my favorite btw) and Dynamic Themes are also a welcome too! Thanks for reading.

  • @Aryeh: I’d like to wish you an early Shana Tova!

    1) Will Killzone 3 be shown at NY Comic Con on Oct. 8-10?
    2) Will PS Plus subscribers be automatically granted access to the MP beta?
    3) Will there be any online co-op modes in Killzone 3?

  • I’m not sure if this was asked already or not, but will PS+ subscribers get early access to the beta?

  • This is going to be exciting! I can’t come to PAX, but I would love to get my hands on a Beta code!

  • Is the beta going to be on Playstation3 store anytime soon

  • ATTENTION GG!! Please put Game Status mode in. Example…….games like Modern Warfare and Modnation racers have it where it tells you what game mode you are playing.
eg…Killzone 3 Playing Team deathmatch on Warshed.

Please for the love of God add this.
    Thanks

  • I really want to see this multiplayer for myself. but i have a question. I own killzone 1 & 2. So minus the modes & melees, will this feel pretty much like killzone 2? Will a causal gamer be able to enjoy this?

  • Ok so I see beta’s are going to US and Euro… But what about Canada?

Canada is always left along :(

  • Well i’ve counted four ablities of the medic: 1.revive gun 2.revive self 3.health regeneration 4. medic bot. Are you saying the six abilities for each class includes ablities that carry across all Careers? That and where’s our long MP trailer?!

  • If there are 2 things you need to fix from KZ2, it’s to bring back the Assault class to its former glory: the problem wasn’t the extra armour, the problem was that you could equip Assault, run around and when you get shot just shoot at the ground with your rocket launcher. If you killed yourself you saved your team a point against them, but you could still kill the other player and PROFIT from such a bull**** tactic!

And the MAIN thing you need to fix is the length! KZ2 was the best online multiplayer game I have ever played…but easily the shortest. It took me 2 weeks and I was 100% done with online! You need to add more stuff to keep playing, not just levels that give you nothing.

  • Also, I have a signed copy of KZ2 that I won + a picture of myself with Steven ter Heide and Eric Boltjes. Does that give me any sort of entitlement? :D

  • Is Guerrilla Games planning on implementing unlockable multiplayer skins based on characters (i.e., Col. Gregor Hakha, Colonel Mael Radec, Colonel Tendon Cobar, Cpl. Shawn Natko, Cpt/Col. Jan Templar, Evelyn Batton, General Armin Metrac, General Dwight Stratson, Scolar Visari, Shadow Marshal Luger, etc.) featured in Killzone game installments from the past and present in order to be playable on Killzone 3?

  • u should add co-op or think about adding it maybe not for story mode but on multiplayer offline something like on the first killzone, since it wasent added on kz2 for us classic kz fans as well.

nd are u going to mention wat happen to Col. Gregor Hakha, and Shadow Marshal Luger?

  • Nice to see that Gorrila is still perfecting this game to create the ultimate FPS. I would like to know if there will be more Guns in this game or will it be Just the same guns as KZ2… Also it would be awesome if the characters did not have so much going on in their outfits it makes them look so out of place in the Awesome maps.

  • Sick! I love it! I’m more than down to play this!

  • Has the first person perspective been fixed so Sev doesn’t look extreme short when he shouldn’t be?

  • Are there more vehicles awaiting us aside from the ones already mentioned?

  • What if I attend PAX but I made the trip from Canada? I don’t even get the chance to get into the beta?

  • Hello, can you tell us if old beta testers from KZ2) will be automatly selected ? thx

  • Hey, Is the weapons customizable?

  • Are you going to elaborate on how the control scheme and “heaviness” has been fixed from the first game? I really want to play Killzone 3, but only if you can prove you’ve fixed the utterly broken control.

  • OK I totally love KZ2, still stuck on the final boss battle on Elite difficulty, but loving every minute of it. I hope you guys are open to suggestions, so that KZ3, is better than ever..

    1. 2 or 3 player Split Screen
    2. Ability to throw back grenades
    3. In Single player campaign, mix it up more. Some Metal Gear Solid 3 style stealth missions mixed as well as the usual heavy action sections would be great. With the already excellent AI, this should give the SP campaign loads of replayability. Just for context, The End boss fight in MGS 3, is my favourite boss fight of all time.
    4. Ability to go prone, maybe only if you are the sniper class.
    5. A Play Dead perk/ability.

Anyway, you guys did an awesome job on KZ2, and KZ3 is looking phenomenal so far, so looking forward to getting my hands on that early next year.

    Keep up the great work!

  • Ok the party sistem i wanted is there in KZ3 =)that was 1 of the main probs in KZ2 didnt really care thought, but the loading screens in KZ3 are they gonna be slow n we arent gonna be able to talk to people like in KZ2? or is that fixed or are you guyz plannin to fix it? This is my biggest concern of the game but other than that the game looks perfect. Plz reply and great jopb makin awesome games like KZ2 n the GOTY that is gonna be Killzone 3 =D lol well i hope.

  • Why aren’t you answering questions regarding Playstation Plus?
PS+ subscribers (EU and US) should be invited to play the beta.

    It’s only fair :)

  • fantastic! this game is my favorite

  • Elimination mode last 2 players alive drop there weapons have a hand to hand combat CQC/qte style .That would be cool imo.

  • when is your kz3 beta site going to be working? this week maaaybe ;)? AND PLEASE GIVE US CLOSE BETA INVITES FOR PS+ members!!! please!!!

  • And yet again the Europeans are screwed over big time!!!

Why not have the chance to win a Beta card at Gamescom??

I am from Holland (you know… the country GG resides in!!!).

So is there a chance to get into the Beta for us Europeans as well, or would one have to be a US gamer as usual???

GG also knows that NOT ONE single store in Holland has pre-order bonusses like getting a Beta card.

    Fix this!!

  • I’m a very big fan of BFBC2 – especially the variety of vehicles and the graphics.

Will there ever be a sequel to Battlefield: 2142 on the PS3?

  • FAO – Aryeh Loeb,

Hi there, nice to meet you.

I wondering about a few discrepancies between what you have posted in the comments section, and the Official Rules for this competition.

For example, you mention, “We will make sure to distribute Beta Access evenly between Europe and the US of course!”

    https://blog.playstation.com/2010/09/01/killzone-3-multiplayer-pax/#comment-447879

Whereas the rules state, “Void outside the 50 United States and D.C. and where prohibited.”.

So, my question is, can people from Europe use the BETA code to gain access to the Killzone 3 BETA without any problems if they win?

Also just a minor error, “11. PROMOTION RESULTS. You may request the names of winners by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope by October 31, 2009 to “Twitter Killzone 3 Feedback” Sweepstakes Winner’s List, 919 E. Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City, California 94404. ”

    The date is clearly wrong.

    Thank you for your time!

  • Hey Aryeh loeb this one is for you. Do you know if they will have co-op and, or split screen.? Would really look forward to it. Please reply.

  • Any way anyone can send me the specific intruction on were i could send the feedback and get a chance to participate in the beta? its not fair i can be at PAX i don’t live in seatle.

  • addressing character customisation: i think it would would be really awesome if we could have a new multiplayer slot that holds a custom character. such as helmet, basic uniform. also have you ever thought’ve putting in some melee weapons like swords?
