Yes, the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial really is coming! Just like its predecessor, the multiplayer mode for Killzone 3 will be put through rigorous testing at the hands of the toughest, most demanding critics in existence: you, the fans. The Trial starts on October 25th and access is limited to 5,000 U.S. Plus subscribers, so please read the following instructions carefully if you want to know how to secure a spot in the Public Beta:
- Be(come) a Plus subscriber
- With the exception of a handful of key media partners and selected PAX feedback participants, access to the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial is limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers. If you’re not enjoying the many benefits of Plus membership yet, now’s the time to sign up!
- Download the theme
- On October 19th, an exclusive Killzone 3 XMB Theme will appear in the Plus section of the PlayStation Store. The first 10,000 Plus subscribers to download this theme (5,000 U.S. Plus subscribers and 5,000 European Plus subscribers) will receive access to the Public Beta Trial.
- Check your email
- After you’ve downloaded the Killzone 3 XMB Theme, you will receive an email on Oct. 25th containing the Public Beta Trial promotion code and further instructions through the address you registered as your PSN Sign-In ID. Make sure you’ve set your notification preferences to accept emails from SCE, or we won’t be able to contact you.
Those of you who make it into the Public Beta Trial are expected to provide honest gameplay feedback, report bugs and glitches, and help test our network code in real-world scenarios. In short, we’re counting on you to help us improve Killzone 3! In return you’ll get a good taste of the multiplayer mode, including its brand-new Operations game type, party system, and jetpack and exoskeleton vehicles.

I paid the money for PS Plus under the conditions that I would get exclusive beta access. Only giving away 5,000 keys to PS Plus subs in NA is ridiculous. It should be all PS Plus members or none at all.

Last weekend i change my 32 inches Sony Bravia for a PANASONIC 50 inch. No more money from me Sony. You lied to me 3 month ago when i suscribe to PS+.
My job is very close to game industry, and i make sure that everyone knows the experience i had with PS+ was a BIG scam from Sony.
By the way dont you know that Sony is selling the 20$ PSCard 23$ to some retailler. Everytime they sell a card they lose 3$. The console 160GB = retail 299, Sony sells it 305, total lost of 5$. Sony is on the top of the world…
Will you add new solider weapons like sub-machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles etc…? Will there be more then one sniper rifle?

90% of the PlayStation Plus subscribers don’t even know how to report a bug, lol.
They will just say “I went through a wall in [insert level name] here.”
If your expecting people to have to pay to get into the beta, the least you could do would be to tell people how long the beta will last ( I saw the comment about however long is needed, but you should give a minimum of 3 weeks or something)

As an early adopter ($600.00 ps3 + $200.00 ins) I expect to be given a K3 beta invite.
Invited to K2’s beta. Sony may choose not too send me an invite. That’s ok. I can also choose to continue purchasing my games used, through Amazon and Gamestop.
The only thing that bothers me is that most of us have SCHOOL, and I can’t come up with a good excuse for being late because I wanted to get into a beta… Still hoping I (Somehow) get in.

personally i think 5000 US players is weak!…. it should’ve been alot higher then that like 10k or 15k. you have to assume that only a small percentage of those 5000 players will even contribute any feedback let alone even want to take place in the beta. i will be expecting the usual game patches and server side patches after the launch date to fix the online issues.
I have a question: How do we set our email notifications to accept emails from SCE? Im not sure mine is set. and it will send the email to the address we use to sign in to PSN correct?

the people that complain about sony forcing gamers to pay for ps plus so, they can be apart of certain beta’s. you guy’s seem to forget that sony is a buisness just like any other co. so, why are people so surprised when they see sony trying to make profit. it would be nice if sony gave us everything for free and all we have to do is give up ps network, the psp’s, ps move, all are sony exclusive games, oh yeah…and are ps3. plus more stuff i’m not even mentioning. i don’t know about you but, i’ll keep paying sony so they can make that money and they can pay there dev’s to come up with new ideas for sony exclusives and entertainment for us.

seriously i paid 50 dollars for a 1 year of ps plus ( and 3 months for free (yeah !)). giving only 5000 beta keys is wrong. the beta should be available for all ps plus subscribers. when i read about ps plus it said: exclusive betas for subscribers! the only beta that all subscribers have is assassin’s creed brotherhood.
There is no way anyone that does not have a ps+ (including me) is going to buy one just to play a beta. Sure I would love to get a chance to play the killzone 3 beta, but Sony you should really think more of the people that dont have ps+. Blackmailing us by setting up a killzone 3 beta to only subscribers to ps+ in order for everyone that DONT have ps+ to subscribe to ps+ isnt the way to do it. I thank you for the offer but I think I’ll pass on this one.

ok here are all my questions which could concern others in some way:
1. I’m living in EU atm but I have an aussie PSN account, will i be able to download the theme at an EU appropriate time for first 10k?
otherwise i will create a UK or something account and get PSPlus there. [for normal time to download]
2. Will you announce the time the theme will be uploaded on PSN? It’s a waste of time for us sitting in front of the PSNStore all day pressing O and X opening and closing PSPlus section.
3. How do you refresh PSNStore properly? do you have to close the application or can you just look at the sections and go back to store top?
4. Will the estimated upload time of the theme be the same in all of EU/Australia or will it be uploaded at a “normal” individual time for every country? if so, i will create a UK account.

what players think of the controlls i’m sure they are going to release a demo for everyone on ps network
i like how people complain about it only being for ps plus members that flatout said this kinda thing would happen and the more dedicated players who are willing to put out the money for plus are finally getting what we deserve killzone 3 beta, Deadspace 2 beta, assassins creed beta. just stop complaining no one cares if you dont want to put the money out for it and its not their fault you have to work or your doing whatever. they are looking for the more dedicated players for the beta’s. and that 50 bucks gets you way more than betas if you dont wanna put the money out fine just stop complaining on the blogs cause no one cares. if you look at it from a business standpoint the only people that really matter are the ones shelling out the extra money.
i also like the people who say ps plus members have no lives that not true either its not out fault we have money and you dont. get a job and quit being a lazy bum. and like brasco75 said sony is a business and they need the money to keep going and for the people who are complaining about there only being 5000 keys and saying thats wrong no it isnt if they gave everyone a key right off the bat, the servers would take a dump instantly always happens. im sure they will have a public beta later if not then sucks to be you if you dont get a key.

i read on the kz site that it the theme was coming out today. ive been looking at the ps store since 4 and i havent seen the theme anywhere. people are saying they already downloaded it, what the heck is going on? is anyone else from US experiencing this?
