Hi everyone,
We’re building up some momentum in 2011 with our second PlayStation Plus publish of the year, offering three featured games along with a handful of discounts on PlayStation Network exclusive titles – all coming to you on February 1. Mix in an automatic download that gives early access to an upcoming PSN-exclusive, and this update is sure to have something for everyone.
Kicking off this PlayStation Plus update with an auto download of a demo of Tales from Space: About a Blob, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting the first look. This upcoming PlayStation Network game developed by DrinkBox Studios follows a race of alien Blobs that encounter a foreign planet and are looking to devour everything. As a reminder, PlayStation Plus subscribers can turn on the Automatic Download feature under “System Settings” on the XMB. This feature will update your PS3 with firmware updates, patches to recently played games and other select videos or game demos.
In addition to the early access to Tales from Space: About a Blob, we are also discounting several PlayStation Network exclusives. PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive 50% discounts off both versions of Fat Princess, the comical, multiplayer brawler. After storming the castle with your friends, be sure to download Kung-Fu LIVE for 20% off. You too can join Jeff and Rey as you show off your Kung Fu skills with this new PlayStation Eye game. PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be able to download a full game trial of Assassin’s Creed II Deluxe Edition, which includes the two DLC sequences (Battle for Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities).
Finally, we are also offering three featured games on the next PlayStation Plus publish, including the updated classic Digger HD from Creat Studios; the new mini from StormBASIC Games, Karimogi; and Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, a great follow up to our previous featured title, Spyro the Dragon.

My decision to stop buying PSN games is paying off. I REALLY wanted Lead & Gold as well as Digger HD but now I’m glad I waited. Looking forward to free Spyro 2. Kung Fu live should get a better discount.

@All Complainers, do you people really have nothing better to do than to complain about a year old BD disk game being released on PSN? Seriously? There are plenty of people who haven’t played AC2, and the ‘Deluxe’ edition is a new product. If you complain about it being released on the PSN, go hit up steam and see if anybody listens [or cares what you think] as it’s been released on there too.
@Even more complainers, Just because you don’t like what is being released on PS+ doesn’t make it a bad release. There’s times I have most of whats released, I just deal with it. Grow up.
I suppose I should get used to it, the internet nowadays is for complaining by people who have nothing better to do with their lives.

I would use autoupdates if you made the demo push feature optional. I usually don’t want any of these demos so I keep autoupdates turned off.
Dear PS Plus,
So far, we all have received above & beyond the cost of PS Plus. While that is all well & very good, it’s still a work in progress.
Mini’s.
I am not a huge Mini fan. Yes most are “cute” and basic, some are not but getting them FREE is always nice, they get downloaded & mostly forgot about.
There are 0 reasons to play a Mini, except that it is FREE game. Since most PS3 or even PSN games garner our utmost attention, where a Mini is a “fill in”, or a “need to pass some time game”.
There are NO trophies for any Mini.
If you want us to PLAY the Mini’s you give us for FREE in PS Plus, but what your really doing is a disservice to those companies, MAKING their Mini’s.
I may or not play any of them. If we are to PLAY any of those Mini’s, we get a “feel” for the company that makes them. “Said” company wants people to play, like and enjoy they’re games, but what redeeming value is there, to play a FREE game, that garners little interest, except that it’s FREE.
Please, ask this Co.’s, to add in Trophies. We don’t need 20 of em, just give us some start, middle, finish ,that’s it.

PS: Can you PLEASE, ADD a character counter to this, cause I’m sick of writing something, hitting submit, only to see the message that says I have more then the 1250 characters allowed. But when you go back a page, everything typed, is now GONE.

@ whoever was asking about fat princess vouchers, I”m pretty sure gamestop sells them for 7.99. It was discounted on amazon for $8 as well, but its gone back up to full price there.
Hey great work on planning there Sony! Just odnt let these pessimistic people ruin your plans. I think PS+ has better value over XBL and Ive been with them for 7 years now and I still havent reaped as many benefits or swag just for being on the team. At least you allremember who the “console” is really for…….. THE GAMERS and not advertising to grannys and people that never play games on average totally. Really I can use facebook and twitter at anytime free it just so happens though I dont but, I had to pay for the service and I dont even use it. I still haven’t renewed my subscription yet. PS paving the way! Just take what strengths they have as crossgaming voice chat and PSN ID changing and boom the world of live has to do better than that trash they got now. Dont get me wrong they had a good plan but, they are too greedy and not listening to the people that made them what they are today and for that SONY is my running mate now!
YES!!!! Spyro 2 =) I was just about to buy it since you guys gave the first Spyro to us for free. If you guys give us Spyro 3, PS+ will be complete and worth the money.

eh not my cup of tea i’m seeing that PSN plus is starting to become a waste all the stuff i do want is not discounted so i wind up paying for it full price. Still no cross game chat no worthwhile update, i can see why people cross over only thing that keeps me afloat is good games but updates and psn plus incentives are not really interesting me over all. ah well hope you all make some improvements. sony if you want people to stop hacking your console implement things the people ask for not just crappy throw-away ideas, you’re not too intouch with the people’s wants.
Plus is a joke. Not renewing. Garbage content, and if you already own it, too bad Sony says.

PlayStation Plus still manages to give me that warm fuzzy feeling of great value and content… Well worth what I paid.

Spyro 2 and Digger are two games I’ve often thought about buying, so I’m happy to get them free during my subscription.

I can honestly say i wont be buying PS+ next year. I understand the value its saved some people, but to be honest half the junk they release on PS+ is stuff most people wouldn’t buy to begin with or are so popular that they’ve already been bought. The 2-3 year old content getting thrown up there to is a slap in the face.

for anyone who wants to get fat princess, get it!! the community is very much alive. i bought it the other week from amazon when it was for 42% off. now @50%, it’s definitely a steal.
I have a serious question about PS Plus. When will Sony’s PlayStation Network start trying to compete with Xbox Live. I mean on a serious level. For example Call Of Duty (COD) Black Ops and almost every COD prior, Microsoft work deals with the Developers and get the Map Packs a month before PlayStation players do. COD is one of the biggest multiplayer games out, and Modern Warfare 2 holds the record for the best selling game to date. This is one large part of what serious gamers play. PlayStation Plus doesn’t seem targeted to the serious gamers. For us that like playing the newest and hottest games. For us that have owned every PlayStation that has ever been released. We are looking for PlayStation plus to offer better multiplayer connections vie better servers or what have you and more serious game add on exclusives. Exclusives like Xbox has been doing for a while. That to me would make PS Plus worth it.
No HD space limits for me. A year ago I bought a 500GB Hard drive & popped it in. I still have about 250gb left :)

And PS+ is like 1 McDonald’s value meal a month -cheap. I’ve enjoyed a few of the free games so far, & like the auto-update feature. Today when I popped in Black Ops- it was already updated. Nothing more annoying then having to wait to download that before I play.
SONY: Suggestion for PS Plus:
Allow members to save games to a ‘cloud’. That way when we visit friend’s houses we all will have our saved games if we log into our account on their system.
Plus it would be like a great back up service…just saying…
