PSP: Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties

Next on the agenda, we have Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! now available for purchase on UMD or for download as of last week. For those that have played their way through and didn’t get a chance to unlock Asagi Wars, we have good news for you! PSN has already released our DLC, which will allow you to get a special code to punch in that will unlock Asagi Wars for you. Prep your button mashing thumbs, dood, it’s time to aid Asagi in her quest to be the main character!

Last but not least, we’re proud to bring you some fresh info on Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel, dood! The hit title has finally landed on the PS3 and is ready to go out with a bang in the final installment in this epic series. With a jam-packed Blu-Ray disc (seriously, it’s almost a full Blu-Ray), you can expect an extremely in-depth and satisfying epic tale!!

Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel for PS3

While I won’t spoil the entire plot for you, I’ll provide a brief synopsis. Within the world of Sol Cluster, there is an imposing Tower controlled by the powerful Clustanians, who are all Reyvateils, and they are oppressing everyone else on this Tower. For some reason, they have decided to capture a young girl named Saki to further their own machinations. Their pursuit of Saki lands on a young boy named Aoto’s doorstep, and being the stud he is, he steps in to save her. Due to this heroic act, they all end up on the run from an entire army. They all soon will learn that both Saki and another special girl you encounter, Finnel, are being sought after due to their importance and power! I dare not spill any more information, as you all must enjoy the final chapter on your own, dood!

Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel for PS3Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel for PS3

First and foremost the battle mechanic is more action-oriented versus conventional turn-based game play. What it does is actually help tie in the most important part of the battle system which is to attack corresponding to the rhythm or beat. This dynamic, much like previous Ar tonelico games, is paramount to building your meter up to unleash a super-strong attack for your Reyvateils. With a more action-based approach, it allows you more control in regards to timing your attacks to the beat, thus helping you build your Harmograph.

Lastly, a more scandalous addition to the battle mechanic is the fact that the Reyvateils now will get stronger by shedding their clothing. So in essence, by losing layers of clothing, they will become more powerful and able to do incredible amounts of damage! I suppose this is why the game may have gotten a stronger ESRB rating, so needless to say, please use discretion if you are squeamish to the shedding of clothes. Otherwise, it’s pretty great. :-)

Lastly, please check out the official Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel! website that will go live later this week on www.nisamerica.com, as within you’ll get more in-depth info on characters, more story points, and last but not least, information on the Reyvateils’ sensual powers. If you haven’t already, please sign up for our Prinny Bomb Newsletter as we will announce the site’s unveiling within it! I just wanted to thank you all for reading, and make sure to check back soon as we are working hard on getting more screenshots and the trailer ready for Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel!

So is Ar Tonelico 3’s release confirmed to be March now?

Also, is that Hyperdimension Neptunia LE going to be able elsewhere? Similar to how Rorona’s LE was also available at GameStop.

While I’d love to support you guys, your S&H costs at your store were outrageous last time I purchased something directly.

    Greetings!

Ar tonelico 3’s release will be early spring, 2011. I can’t give you a specific date just yet, but it’s looking to be March!

Neptunia’s Premium Edition will be shipping to Gamestop much like Rorona Atelier!

We have had a lot of feedback in regards to our S&H costs, so please take advantage of our free shipping within the U.S.!!

Randomly generated dungeons…. relic from the 90’s…. not sureI care for that aspect of this game very much. It discouraged me from completing certain games like Tobal No.1 Are the random dungeons persistent for each play through (they don’t change until you start a new game) or are they always changing?

    Ryan Phillips's Avatar

    Ryan Phillips said:

    January 19th, 2:16 pm

    Hey KazeEternal,

Neptunia’s dungeons all have set layouts. Maybe you are thinking of ZHP’s randomly generated dungeons. If that’s the case, then yes, ZHP’s dungeons are always randomly generated (except last floor where the boss is located)- ie. constantly changing.

Neptunia’s dungeons are all pre-set, including the quest dungeons. ^^

    Hope this helps!

Freakin’ Atlus has Catherine releasing next month in Japan yet Atlus USA still hasn’t announced plans for localization. I can’t tell you how much stress they sometimes give us.

But you guys! While we love Atlus USA too, I just wanna hug you guys!! Disgaea 4 was revealed in Japan and you guys immediately announced it would be localized! I’m delighted by your confidence in our support.

Disgaea isn’t up my alley but I’ll make sure to buy at least one NISA PS3 title this year. So far, I think it will be AT Qoga!

Can you confirm or deny if there will be a Premium Edition for Hyperdimension Neptunia in Europe?
Anyway I thank you for bring yourselves, even with the standard edition, these titles in Europe, without wait for us fan.

And why can’t you post these blogpost on the EU Blog too so we know the new news about your title pertinent to our market?

    Hey X_Weapon!

Hyperdimension Neptunia will come with standard retail packaging and a soft-cover illustrated art book as an added bonus item in Europe(depending on retailer). The only real difference between the Premium Edition in the U.S. and the European release will be the U.S. Premium Edition comes in a differently designed/sized box. The content for Europe won’t differ too much, except the art book will have a soft cover.

We will definitely look into posting on the EU Blog in the future, dood!!

Any comment on more Sakura Wars titles? I know it could’ve sold better, but I don’t know if it’s a “We’ll do things differently next time”, or a “There’s not going to be a next time” situation.

Either way, NISA did an amazing job with Sakura Wars, thanks.

Still looking forward to Neptunia and Ar Tonelico Qoga, Ar Tonelico especially has turned out to be a great RPG series. Can’t wait to see what Gust is working on now!

For the moment, we don’t have any new news for the Sakura Wars series. We definitely are looking at Sakura Wars on PS2 as a success as a lot of people really enjoyed the game. I’d love to see it move up on to the PS3, but at the moment I honestly don’t have any news to confirm or deny.

On a positive note however, Neptunia and Ar tonelico are both coming out before the end of the first quarter, so they both are something to be really excited about if you like JRPG’s, dood! Both are unique in their own way and are a great addition to any RPG lovers library.

Already preordered my premium edition of Neptunia from your store! Free shipping is nice :)

I can’t wait for ATQ.. but what if I don’t have rhythm, will I be in trouble??? lol

Also good job on bringing these releases to us! I noticed you guys are announcing localizations sooner (like with the Imageepoch titles) Are you guys aiming to get as close as possible to simultaneous releases in Japan and US for upcoming titles? If so, that would be amazing!

    Hey xBarritx,

We’re getting really good feedback about the free shipping! The idea definitely came from fan’s comments and suggestions!

For ATQ, don’t worry, I too don’t have much rhythm. It’s pretty forgiving during battle ^^

Like I mentioned to a few other fans, we really like keeping the fans in the loop with game announcements, as we like to keep as many people as happy as possible! As for simultaneous releases, that would be awesome! We have been getting faster with the localizations, but to some degree the game has to be a fairly finished product before we begin the localization process. Let’s keep our fingers crossed in the future!!!

I’m sort of interested in that first one since I haven’t exactly played a decent jRPG in the longest time. Final Fantasy XIII was alright, but nothing to call home about.

Hyperdimension Neptunia (?) looks really cool, so I may keep my eyes on it, maybe check out some gameplay, story and whatnot. It may be my first jRPG since, well, the release of Final Fantasy XIII (I imported it in December). Hoping it turns out good.

Definitely check out our trailer available either on our website or through youtube! As for more in-depth gameplay, you can always take a gander at the original Japanese footage. There’s a bunch circulating around on popular video sites! The battle is pretty fun as you can create your own combinations.

Since the entire store is a parody of the gaming industry and interactions between each “Goddess” aka console, I think you will appreciate the levity and subtle gamer jokes our editors through in there.

Will there be a demo for Neptunia? It looks intriguing and I’m interested in the LE of it, but a demo would solidify the decision for me.

Also, if I pre-order from your online store, am I guaranteed to get that limited edition deck of cards? I’d really only be pre-ordering for the cards, so if that’s not a guarantee, I might wait to pick the game up then. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, the only thing we have currently that shows actual game footage is from our official trailer. I do believe you can find footage of the Japanese version through online sources. So you can maybe start there ^^

As for the preorder bonus, since they are in a limited amount, I won’t be able to guarantee that you will get a set unless you preorder really soon. Preorders have been rolling in on our store since yesterday when we announced it, so if you’re really set on the cards I wouldn’t wait a few more days. ^^

Thanks for answering me. Just wondering, since it just popped into my head…

Any chance of you guys ever doing HD PS3 collections of some of your PS2 titles? I know I’d certainly a buy Soul Nomad/Makai Kingdom as a pack, or if you still have the license, an Ar Tonelico 1 & 2 pack (hopefully, with certain, ahem, bugs fixed). You guys have no idea how anxious we are to give you our money. Seriously. No company other has given more love for PS3 owners, imo.

So, if you ever feel like asking us to double dip and say, pick up, Disgaea 1 & 2 HD, I’d be the first in line to get them. Just an idea.

    Heya clupula668,

I’m all for remastering previous games that we localized, especially the older Ar tonelico games and Disgaea! The only thing is that it’s usually up to Nippon Ichi Software Japan for development. However, now that the newer versions of the PS3 don’t have backwards compatibility, that is a pretty good idea.

    Thanks, dood!

Although I’m not interested prinny or hyperdimension I still appreciate what games you are bringing over and caring for fans. I will definetly be picked up ar tonelico 3 when it releases in the UK. I love the series and am intrigued with the new battle system ^_^

Also one more thing (its been asked loads) but if namco presented you the chance to localise recent tales games would you take up the opportunity? is there any way you could discuss this with them?

Many thanks! you guys are amazing!

,Kerry

    Hey Kerry!

Be excited for Ar tonelico, it’s epic, dood!! As for Tales games, we do get a lot of requests for this series, however it’s just not in the cards at this point. We have definitely considered it, however there are just too many factors as to why it’s just not feasible at this point in time. I know it’s not an extremely straight answer, but for now it’s just not going to happen.

    Hope this helps!

Already got my Neptunia pre-order in, morning after the e-mail got sent out. That free shipping is a godsend, I tell ya. Between this limited edition, the Ys promos, and the PS3 bonuses of Portal 2, my wallet’s gonna be SCREAMING.

But how can I resist personified game consoles, huh?

    Hey TJF588!

We are really happy to bring free-shipping to all our fans! It’s about time, right, dood!?

You’re going to enjoy the story for Neptunia, I think a lot of the references jammed into there are pretty enjoyable, hehehehe.

    Enjoy Neptunia, dood!!

    Best,

    Ryan

With the recent Imageepoch Partnership you guys made, what games are you going to localize? Hoping for Last Ranker and Tale of the Last Promise :)

Hey Onvertic,

We haven’t officially announced any titles from the Imageepoch partnership yet, but hang tight as we will be back on the PSN blog hopefully soon with some new information on upcoming releases!

We always announce (sometimes sooner than PSN blog) releases in our Prinny Bomb Newsletter. The sign-up is on our main website page, so by all means check it out. That way you’ll get our press releases as we make them!

Best,

Ryan

Around how long it take to finish the game ?
If it’s under 30 hours i won’t buy it but if it’s more i will probably buy i’m tired of wasting 70-80$ for rpg game and it only take like 20-25 hours to finish…

You spelled Qoga wrong in the tags. This also applies to one other article. Just nitpicking. :P

Any chance that font in AT3 will be changed before release? Preferably to something a bit wider and bolder… and less seriffed?

Just pre-ordered Neptunia from NISA’s online store. Thanks for the free shipping option. :)

Can’t wait to get this.

Can’t…wait… ::fidgets uncontrollably::

I’m wondering, what exactly are the dimensions of the artbook? And the Premium edition box, in general.
