ipad 3g network is only 30 bucks

@188
But still, paying that much monthly, PLUS the initial 300-400 pricetag is just over the top. This would be the biggest sony fail ever

dumb, why does there have to be a data limit with 3G? I swear, when will mobile company’s stop grapeing us?

Critizin said:

It depends what carryer you go with…. some will only sell you 3G acess if you buy there whole package… at least in canada most only sell if you buy the whole package…

Even 30$ a month… on top of a 400-600$ price tag.. will kill this.

i hope their atleast discussing the whole cfw ordeal .. i could care less about new systems.. even mentioning a new console now would just piss people off.. like me

i certainly hope they dont do that multi-platform bs w/ franchises like they do now w/ games like resistance and syphon filter.. i would have bought every damn syphon release if it was on ps3 but no .. they stuck it on the lame old psp

If ANY monthly price is necessary for this, it will most likely be a failure. Somewhere under $100 yearly may not be so bad, but no more. I already feel the system is going to be overpriced in the first place.

Caustic_Angel said:

I think the 3G data will be optional…hopefully. Like, if you have the money, you can use a carrier’s 3G plan to use it everywhere.

John-Shooter said:

January 26th, 11:39 pm

but wait.. the handheld might be decent.. Sony Gaming/Android 3.. best cell phone OS.. best gaming entertainment..

the best of both worlds.. but at a price..

Critizin said:

January 26th, 11:39 pm

New tech is always over priced.. im going to guess the debut price is going to be 499-599$ and you have to pay for 3G monthly theres no other way if you want internet on ur NGP… and with out this being a phone it wont be worth it.. you can use hot spots and [DELETED]… but its way less accesive

Caustic_Angel said:

The Ngp with near is going to be using a huge amount of data, there’s no way any of us can afford this…. you’d have to be a millionaire^…

Budapesti said:

I suspect the 3G will either be optional or free. Sony got burned with the PSP Go, which was an unmitigated disaster or, as Sony like to term it, an ‘experiment’.
The thing is going to be expensive, sure. That’s why they’ll do everything they can to keep the price down. When PSP launched, the market was very different – the iPhone didn’t exist and so many thought Sony would destroy the DS. Admittedly, the terms ‘Sony’ and ‘humble’ don’t go together very often, but they’ll do everything they can to make this a bigger success than PSP, and that starts with an appealing price point in a market with so many options.

looks like the playstation device will just be full of rehashes of ps3 games rather than the innovation the industry needs. Looks like i’m getting a 3ds =D

Man, i want this so bad. hopefully it’ll be under $300. i choose this over the 3DS any day. Any idea on launch day releases with it?

pitythefool852 said:

Cross-platform!!!!

Bloody hell… this is really surprising, and could be a complete game changer.

So, that little logo in the corner of the leaked Xperia Play means PlayStation Certified.

I’m really impressed by Sony this time… really really impressed. For them to focus so heavily on software, platform and experience is really un-Sony-like.

The PSP2 looks great too.

DarkUkame said:

January 26th, 11:50 pm

@Critizin ummm you do know you can play music in the background right…..it’s up to the developers to enable that content or not…not sony….

WaveCom said:

The mobile gaming sector is the fastest growing sector in gaming. Sony needed to make sure that they have a powerhouse in the arena and it looks like they will!
