  • Damn it! I just got a PSP 3000 for Christmas! LOL That new system looks pretty cool though!

  • Give me a way to transfer my UMDs and I will give you my money.

  • @IvanDoomer.
PS3’s used to be BC (Backwards Compatable) They stopped doing that around the time that they released MGS4 and they reduced the size of the HD. I have yet to find one out there from the old days when they were BC

  • lol, they should let people preorder before they announce the price.

  • 4G not 3G Sony Please!!!

  • im not really in the touch screen thing but the dual analog is fine u know what they should of added lol an l2 and r2 button lol

  • Is this going to a Phone (PSPhone)?…anyone???

  • It looks nice! But the question is, does it reads UMDs??? Otherwise I might wait till it drops the price… Thank you for sharing!

  • I have a few questions.

1.) How will we be able to convert all of our UMD games we have now to the PSP2?

2.) What’s the price of the PSP2 (NGP)?

3.) Will we still have some of the PS3 features like Net Flix and Hulu Plus on the PSP2 (NGP)?

4.) Will there ever be the option to have a phone service on the PSP2 or some type of Skype functionality?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Also this is my first post on the Playstation Blog.

Glad I finally signed in for the first time.

Most of the time I just view content and leave.

    :D

  • Now just give me a price so I can buy one already!

  • Blog Noob this is my first blog but here goes…how much internal memory does she have…I saw in Game Informer it was rumoured to have more internal mem than the 360….I sure hope so…

  • Any news on internel memory or will it use the Memory Stick for the PSP 3001?

  • I read in GIU that the PS Phone would be seperate from the NGP or as GI called it the PSP2

  • Sounds good. Cant wait to get one. Will be talking about this on my youtube channel.

  • a vibration function would be cool!

  • This looks great! I don’t mind the UMDs going away, it really drains my battery and there is no big benefit to sticking to this old format, but I’m glad they didn’t use the same crappy idea as the PSPgo to do digital-download only. I’m still bummed that I’ll likely not be able to reuse all the accessories I bought for my PSP-2001 (my favorite toy to take on ALL trips) but I have faith that Sony will at least preserve some kind of compatibility with the AV cable that connects to the TV or even the power supply connection.

  • You had me at “Dual analog sticks”.

  • OH MY GAWD!!!

    Dear PlayStation,

    im broke.

anyway, if NGP turns out to be below $300, i am buying it. day 1.

but yea, i am impressed with the features and all the stuff on it. crazyyy year for Sony.

  • Hi,

will this have TV output to use on your TV?

  • Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!!

  • IS SONY GETTING RID OF THE XROSS MEDIA BAR?

  • will the psp2 support my ps3 trophies or will it be separate?

  • Loving everything about this handheld outside of the UI which i hope will change very soon. However, please realize that even consoles don’t do all that well past 300 bucks so hopefully for your sake and mine(i’m not interested in the 3DS at all so i want this to at least have comparable if not more success) that there’s at least a sku anywhere from 199-249.

  • so with NGP being so powerful i would imagine every ps3 game will be remote playable now that it has the hardware i would just love it if i could take DC Universe Online Anywhere i go.

  • Looks and sounds great, any kind of video showing it off anytime soon? I’d like to see this in action, I also want to see the gameplay from Uncharted that was shown!

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Day 1 buy. Looks so awesome and looks like SONY’s doing EVERYTHING to make it the end all of all other mobile devices. Good job.
can’t wait to see what hideo kojima is workin on for both this and the PS3. its gonna be sick.
also, to have uncharted, killzone, AND resistance (my fave series of all time!) is mind blowing.
MIND BLOWN. thank you. 2011. best. sony. playstation. gaming. year. ever. (or all other consoles for that matter)

  • I have never had a psp but I might now, I like how Sony has always taken some ideas that have already been created and then makes them better and on top of that they add ideas to make it an awesome device, they should make it compatible with some android apps so you can use them on the touch screen and they should really work on the camera because sony is the only company with a device like this that is a big name in the camera industry and they could finally make the device that has a camera that works just as good as a regular camera because we haven’t seen that yet in the DSi or the iphone cause the new iphone camera is hd but still doesn’t look that nice.

  • What about internal memory? Does this still take the pro duo memory stick?

  • Boy, what a bunch of fricking cry babys. I’m not saying everything is perfect or that I’m overjoyed with everything I’ve seen, but sony has listened and tried to add a lot of things people asked for. still most of you moooooooaaaaan about every little thing they couldn’t incorporate.

why add a UMD slot if they are abandoning UMDs?

screen resolution won’t be spectacular come holiday 2011, but I’m sure anything current (at that time) would fetch a premium price.

why use a entirely new design when this is sonys design…the only handheld to survive (and profit) next to that other company’s machines

touch screen and 3d? I hope you guys “SEE” why that wouldn’t work..maybe in games that don’t require touch, maybe an attachment could be used over the screen.

the price…will be high, I really hope that sony shoots for 250 – 300, anything higher is pc and tablet areas.

people shop b!tching…this thing is awesome.

  • needs a sd card slot

  • I didn’t see anything about an HDMI port….hopefully I overlooked it

  • Day one purchase for me, I just hope this thing does not cost more then a ps3 even though it might be worth it. I still want price, release date and battery life is a concern as well.

  • I just don’t see this beating the 3DS at all.

While the design maybe aesthetically pleasing, the buttons seem a little small in order to fit the dual joysticks. I feel Sony is behind again in advancing gaming. The 3DS has the novelty of 3D which most individuals will flock to, while the NGP is an upgraded PSP, unless it can be upgraded to 3D technology without the use of glasses; which Sony needs to announce soon to take that novelty away from Nintendo as well.

  • PLEASE MAKE THIS THING HAVE APPS FROM SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES. Facebook & Twitter would be nice. Also a web browser with Flash Thanks Sony!! :D

  • Word on the street is that the battery is not user replaceable due to the extra touchscreen on the back. Please tell me there will be some sort of a program to send in a NGP to have the battery replaced WHEN it eventually dies. I don’t want to have to buy a new system just because the battery is dead.

  • So I’m guessing the rear touch pad/screen can be used as the R2/L2 buttons? Other than that… what’s the rear touch pad for? A new type of battle ship game?

  • Sounds great. Hopefully they’ll keep the XMB or have the option to have the XMB.

  • I hope REMOTE PLAY is better implemented on the new system.

  • this is aw awesome!!!

but does it have a current flash player YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Storage, HOW MUCH STORAGE? Embedded, expandable, everything!

  • Dear Sony, it would be awesome if you could allow a low res or port of your PS3 disc purchase to play on the NGP so you can continue with your game progress on the move, im sure you could do some clever stuff.

    I want one please!

    DTS MAN

  • w0w, I’m speechless….

  • NGP = Nintendo Got Pwned!!

  • Se ve espectacular, esperemos tenga una bateria como para un par de dias sin cargar por lo menos

  • Oh crap! I’m totally on this. I saw PSP games, videos, comics, PS minis, and PS1 classics. I didn’t see Music or photos. I’m assuming there is picture/photo support because of the cameras. It’s probably a stupid question, but I just want to make sure. There is Music support right?

  • So, since this has an OLED screen, does that mean that Sony may be able to make some shutter glasses to enable 3D on it? It could even connect to sync them, right?

  • Can it play UMD’s?

  • daym now i dont know if i want a 3ds or this NGP. i need a price and release date for the NGP plz.

  • @ #344 DZORMAGEN!!! THAT IS AMAZING MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IM TOTALLY STEALING THIS!

and fyi this is the first thing i woke up to today! and boy was i going crazy! sony listened to the people and gave them what they wanted! i will be buying this no matter the price on day 1! dont care how long the line is!

way to go SONY i tip my hat to you!
