The wait is nearly over! Treyarch and Activision are happy to announce that the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike Content Pack launches worldwide for the PS3 on March 3rd, 2011. Battle it out in four all-new multiplayer maps including Berlin Wall, Discovery, Stadium, and Kowloon. Expand the cooperative fight for survival in Ascension, the latest chapter within the terrifying Zombies saga.

josh we dont give a damn about call of duty black ops and the dlc. by march i will be playing Killzone 3 which is a better fps. i hope u see all the hate in the blog and understand that black ops on ps3 is broken and everybody here hates treyarch and the dlc is overpriced with this price i better get bf vietnam which is better than black ops too.

I bought both MW2 map packs @ $15 each and I regret it everyday of my life. 15 bucks for 3 new maps does not worth it whatsoever.
there are many other great FPS games that I’ll be spending my hard earned money on… Killzone 3 & Battlefield 2.

I think the map pack is a bit over priced.
I think it should be $10. Plus Killzone 3 is coming out soon, and its already got a DLC release pretty soon. So I don’t think the map pack is going to sell as good as 360’s did.
And MW3 is coming out in a few months…
So Black Ops is about to die as fast as Myspace.

I only bought black ops to play it with friends. I would never even think of supporting a company that screws over its customers by signing exclusivity deals, and having half their users wait a whole month before access to a mediocre map pack. Also, $10 = a full game with trophies, thus $15 should NOT equal four maps.
Now that killzone 3 is coming out and everyone is gonna get it, consider my business lost, and I will not be recommending black ops to anyone.
Unless there is a formal apology on treyarch’s or activision’s part in the form of this DLC being free, Bye bye treyarch. You were never fun.

Yo Josh , I’m really happy for you I’m going to let you finish but killzone 3 is one of the best fps of all time…one of the best of all time!
I went to the midnight release of the game in November just so I could be the first of my friends to play it. I told them all about how awesome it was and how much fun it was. Then the problems hit. None of my friends or me will pick this game up now. There are no dedicated servers like others and it is such a waste. So many disconnections and lagging people that it is just to much of a pain to play. We have all switched to Killzone and find it much better than Call of Duty. There is no way I will pay another $15 for a game that I already paid $60 for that still doesn’t work. Treyarch and Activision, you have wasted my time and money for the last time. Fix your game and treat players on both systems equally, or don’t bother at all.
I love playing this game but if treyarch could pull it together like infinity ward did with their gameplay. Just sayin Josh you guys own on Zombies but your gameplay is really cheesy.

you got the whole thing about treyarch right they don’t seem to care about connectivity. Infinity Ward was much more dedicated to that, and it is a disappointment that XBOX gets their stuff first because I already pay for internet so why should I pay again to play a game. So with all that said it sux that they get maps first and yeah it sux to get disconnected 70% (not an exaggerrated amount) of the time and have to put up with getting charged more to play for stuff 6 months after the game comes out

The AI and the trophies are screwed up in single-player mode. In multi-player mode, the servers can’t handle the load on weekends. When you do get a good game going, usually some annoying punk is using their headset to annoy others while some other punks are glitching and cheating. Fun? Not! And I find it unacceptable that inviting friends times out. Did they even performance and load test the game?
I usually enjoy DLC for my games, but in this case, I don’t see the need for purchasing First Strike. One new zombie map and a couple of multi-player maps for $15 is a waste of money. Especially since it’s going to be released as an afterthought on the PS3 and there will be TONS of new games coming out that will command my time and money.

Anyone else notice that they just took MW2 multi-player and ‘stuck’ it in Black Ops? It’s the same code with new maps and doesn’t even ‘fit’ in the framework of Black Ops. Like I’m even going to try to rank up to prestige after spending hours doing so on MW2!?!?! If I wanted to play MW2 multi-player, I’d stick that disc in instead. Treyarch contributed zombie mode to CoD which is killer and that’s it. Infinity Ward obviously did the heavy lifting with the multi-player game.
And if any of the developers are reading this, don’t be so lazy with the programming next time. Make my allies work with me, or GTF out of the way. I die more often from my allies because I get pushed or blocked into the line of fire. They need to fix that or allow me to turn off allies. I understand that this is a game, but please do try to make the AI a little more realistic and not something that frustrates players to the point they want to smash the disc.

Anyone ever notice how a game or DLC pack will come out at a high price, noone buys it and a month later it goes on sale for half price? That will happen with blockbuster DLC if everyone doesn’t line up to overpay on day 1. I will be passing this one up on principle alone. Get KZ3. I would bet the first map pack for it is under $10.

Allowing this blog post was a bad idea lol. Great PR for Killzone though, and deservedly so. Killzone is like the little engine that could, and will likely stand king once the dust settles from a credibility standpoint.
I’ll never understand how absolute rubbish like this sells. People are truly sheep, and wouldn’t know a quality shooter if it bit em in the sac. Call of Duty hasn’t been fun in over 3 years, and so long as you keep supporting these tyrants, they will continue to fill your gullet with their empty calories. You’ll eventually feel fat, stupid, and guilty you got involved in the first place.

But any chance Activision will let up on cracking the Call of Duty whip so hard on you guys and perhaps allow you to develop something else? I’d love to see you guys return to the Ultimate Spider-Man series, the one put out by your studio last gen was easily my favorite Spider-Man.

Black Ops is a broken, throw back of a game that brought nothing new to the FPS.
I went back to BFBC2 and MAG after about a day of playing this laggy, cheap and nasty POS.
Roll on Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm, but I think Battlefield 3 is going to be the shooter to beat after seeing those advanced screens. Frostbite 2 and Destruction 3.0 are going to make COD look like a kiddie cartoon.
Is 15$ worth it all? IDK
already sold Black Ops and I don’t see me going back to a CoD game. K3 and R3 will hold my shooting needs until Respawn Studios brings the CoD killer.

Too late. Maybe I would have gotten it if it came out when it did on the other console, but at this point I’m too busy playing other games and with Killzone 3 coming out, no way I’m going to go back and play this.
Got my glitched platinum today after replaying a couple levels of the campaign (luckily I didn’t have to redo the whole thing) and I’m done.
I don’t understand all these “problems” you kids have had with this game. I have had BO since day one of its release and have not had many issues. ALL games have bugs, ALL games have glitches. Black Ops is not “broken” you just suck at playing. Stop blaming the game when you suck. I aim, shoot and hit while running (never a problem). Most of you people with a problem with this game either suck at playing it or hell you just may be on another company’s payroll. I LOVE BLACK OPS AND WILL BE BUYING THE DLC !!!! !!!!
