Check out the video walkthrough to see how it works:

With Music Unlimited’s Basic service, you can enjoy commercial-free, uninterrupted music across a variety of channels and genres and provide instant feedback on each song to ensure that the service is learning your music preferences and providing the proper recommendations based on your personal tastes. With the Premium service, you can access additional premium music channels, search the entire music database, play songs on demand and create custom playlists.

In addition to PlayStation 3, you may also enjoy Music Unlimited on your network-enabled BRAVIA TV, Blu-Ray Disc player, Sony VAIO or other PC and coming soon to Sony’s other mobile devices, including PSP. Music Unlimited will be available later this afternoon Pacific Standard Time (PST) for 30-day free trial of the Premium service, with monthly subscriptions of Premium at $9.99 or Basic at $3.99. • What about option to buy? Why can’t I press Triangle and choose to buy the song for U$.99 or the Music Video for U$1.99 or something? I’m not always gonna be connected to the Internet, what about when I’m on the plane or train?

  • why would anyone pay for this..its retarded.

  • I loved internet radio on the PSP and always wanted it for the PS3. I guess it was just evolving into this.

  • is this kinda like apple music store ? if so i get on the band wagon , see ill have to go to every other sights to get the music i want , example , like (file’s tube) just to download (one voice – never leave your side) or (beemp3) to download (amanda perez – angel’s) so i just hope this service give me my jpop like – kana & utada, kpop like H.O.T. & S.E.S or santana and that one mexican band that glee trying to be also charice

  • pretty kool but it took 4 yrs for sony to do this. hmmm…..

still no comic store in canada

  • wait is this US only?

  • If this was apart of PS+, I would get PS+ tomarrow.

  • yea you have to do a firmware update to get it its 3.56 soo thats all i did an up and running

  • Its up everyone. Its live.

  • I THink This Is A Good Thing And a Sign That Sony Is Gonna Finally Let Us Have In Game Music For Every Game We Play

  • Cool service! BUT… where is the discount for PS+ members.

  • why do you have to update the time and date to new york if you live in california kinda stupid and annoying if you ask me & doesnt make sense

  • Hm 30 day free trial BUT you still need a credit card… not everyone has credit cards… guess ill keep downloading music for free to my ps3 harddrive at wuzam.com :D

  • Credit Card needed. You could’ve told us that >.>…

  • Wow. No Mac support.

  • What’s up with the new agreement thing we have to accept?

  • @166 JuanPARADOX – Its because Ps3 was hacked, so sony released a new agreement stating not too mess with the software

  • “Song not yet available on Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity”
This is why Sony won’t get my $ for this service.
I want a cloud location to stream my personal collection thought this was going to be the one … I thought wrong.
Out of my over 8500 tracks Qriocity was able to add 3, this is pitiful I don’t have a lifetime to wait for IF the rest will be available, by that time Qriocity will be dead like Connect.

  • oops!
I spoke to soon now it has 5 tracks added …

  • @Enforcer_X haha goodluck man

  • when is it coming in canada???

  • Is this going to be a feature that will be added on to PSPs and also the NGP later on?

  • Pandora Is Free, I would buy PS+ if you implement this music service for FREE. thanks

  • This service is already helpful and I have barely even used it for 5 minutes. Once you download it and also download the sync application for your pc, it’ll automatically go through your library and save it on the cloud for you within your music collection. Obviously, it doesn’t do it at the speed of light, but so far it hasn’t skipped a single song out of my play list on my pc. I even looked up bands I didn’t even think it would have and it actually has it!

    I really like Qriocityyyy

  • this sounds interesting, but its too bad the Basic version isn’t free.

  • this is so awesome!! its going to save me so much HDD room =D

computer sync!! also if you could play the musics and play game on the same time…..did you guys thought of that? that would be awesome!!!

  • wait, you have to pay for basic??? lame….

  • this is awesome

  • The only thing I don’t like is you can’t browse and listen to the song you are currently listening to.

  • wack that plp have to pay

  • YES!!!! THANK YOU !!!! THANK YOU !!!!

  • No Mac support for music sync. g_g
This is a deal breaker for me.

  • I’m trying it now on my PS3 and I’ve got to say it’s an impressive application. However, the search function is probably the key element to the program- why limit it to only the premium members?

  • fricking awesome sony!!! by the way cool video with a lil DJ mix into the remix :)

  • The website only works with flash?!? Thanks for continually alienating your customers… Guess I’ll just have to wait for a subscription based iTunes.

  • Woah! It’s very easy to download and install this thing without realizing you’re going to be charged, in a month’s time, for using it.
You should probably make it clear that, if your PSN account is set up accordingly, funds will be automatically removed after thirty days. As it stands now, it’s very vague. I can see a bunch of people getting VERY angry in a months time, when their trial runs out and Sony automatically docks $10 from their PSN balance, or removes it from their bank accounts.
The application is good, but it needs and ‘opt in’ option after thirty days, not the ‘opt out’ option it currently has.

  • Lack of Mac support is really disappointing for Music Sync. It seems to be one of the key features of the service, but I’m locked out of it. The program isn’t that big. How hard could it be to port to the Mac platform. Lack of proper sync software is part of why my PSP is tucked away in a drawer somewhere, not even sure where.

I really love my PS3 and have been waiting for a service like this on it to replace my Rhapsody subscription but the fact that I’m locked out of a major feature really is not cool. Oh well, I guess this is one more tiny nudge back to Windows (it won’t be a Sony computer though).

  • Downloaded the program and the PC sync tool. The sync tool sucks. It can’t even find songs within the same album properly. Other than that, this is pretty cool so far.

  • Basic is $3.99 per month — I don’t think so. I would probably use the basic service if it were free, but it’s a complete joke for a stripped down subscription model. We can use Pandora through the PS3’s web browser for free!

  • I really think it would be a great idea to offer this to all Playstation Plus members. It would be a great way to boost sales of the PS+ not to mention being a great gift to all loyal PS+ subscribers.

  • Music Sync doesn’t support mapped network drives! I’m not moving 50GB from my NAS back to my computer just to sync (kinda defeats the purpose of the NAS). Also sad that you didn’t include a “disable auto-run” in the Music Sync settings.

    Qriocity…what could have been…

  • Yeaaaa Boyyyyeeeeeeeee… hearing me some Classic U2 “”new Year’s Day”!!

  • Well after an hour or so of playing around with this, I can honestly say for me Music Unlimited is too “limited” with such a small selection, and it sucks. The lack of Heavy Metal music will keep me from paying, as well a few CD’s I tried adding to my favorites weren’t even the band, and music which it’s labeled as.

  • Wow Sony, your really stepping it up this year!

  • Might be interested if that ugly hack freak of nature Gaga was not staring at me. Please someone cover it up – think of the children!

  • The interface is nice, but the sound quality is poor. Choral music sounds very distorted.

  • So does this mean Sony will be blocking Pandora from the web browser?

  • After using it for only an hour or so, it already smokes Pandora instantly. =)

  • I like this service… Other than the fact it won’t sync my music on my computer. But besides that, you know… The whole reason I wanted it, it’s great.

  • It’s great to know that yet again Canada doesn’t count as a key territory in Sony’s eyes.

At least I know I’ll never pay for the service if it ever does come to Canada; there’s already other services available here that can do the same thing and have been out for quite some time.
