  • Nothing there for me. Here is hoping for next month.

  • Cool! I’ll be picking up Stardrone since it’s so affordable and such a great concept.

    – @K1rkpad

  • wait. Assassin’s Creed. the 1st one? now im certain Brotherhood is gonna go Digital…COME ON!!! DOOOO IT

  • damn i want to join ps plus now just because of the yakuza theme

  • Nice. I was planning on picking up Dungeon Hunter anyway, so this makes it a little easier to do. Hopefully it isn’t offered as the free title sometime down the road. >.>

  • now we have to wait about 2 weeks to get the marvel vs capcom 3 avatars when you guys said we will be getting them yesterday, what gives!???

  • Yay Sonic 2! If Sony could get Revenge of Shinobi, that would be awesome :)

  • Nice been waiting for news on when Dungeon Hunter was coming out and to get a discount to boot just makes it that much better

  • Ah, just bought Sonic The Hedgehog yesterday and now Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will be out. I would get it, but I’m not a PS+ member, so I guess I’ll have to wait awhile on that.

Oh nice! a Yakuza 4 Dynamic Theme! Defiantly getting that! =D

  • GUYS…WHAT IS DUNGEON HUNTER?!??! ENLIGHTEN ME PLEASE

  • This means no more free avatars?

    • Hi Yung Shep – Plus will still offer free avatars. The offers rotate typically every 4 weeks. Keep your eye peeled on 4/26 as I believe we should have a new free avatar offered then.

  • Assassin’s Creed 1!? Does this mean trophies patch finally? =D

  • OH YES!! DUNGEON HUNTER YES!!!

  • We’ve only had two free exclusive avatars since launch and EU has gotten about 20. Can’t we get some free Plus exclusive ones here too?

    • Hi SpyDudeFX – See comment 11, we should have a new free avatar offer on 4/26. We try to stagger the offers, but since launch we’ve had over 20 different avatars offered for free. Thanks for your feedback!

  • So far thanks to PS PLUS

    1. Castle crashers cost me $10.50 instead of $7.50 during the spring sale (actually it was the psn game winner maybe)

    2. I impatiently bought scott pilgrim after getting sick of waiting for scott pilgrim to go on sale. The sale finally came…cough cough (but only for PS PLUS subscribers)

Thanks to the creation of PS PLUS i feel it hurts more helps

The only upside that i can find is that i don’t have to pay to be online but PLUS is definitely lowering my expectations with sales….

  • NVM just saw a review on youtube, its an IPHONE app! and it was recommended if you like games like Diablo : ) sweet! i do need a really solid rpg game..so this could work

  • So, us long time subscribers are at least getting one new Mini for the month. I can settle for Sonic 2 in place of a second Mini, or the PS1 game, but considering we should be getting one new full PSN game, two minis, and a PS1 game each month, getting just a PSN game (Comet Crash), one mini (Duael Invaders), and a Genesis game (Sonic 2), the month is still lacking.

And no avatars, no add-ons (although SCEA has been ignoring that promise since day 1). Getting a trial for an ancient game isn’t helping either.

Still lacking in terms of what we were originally promised each month. I’ll remind you…

    1 PSN game
    2 Minis
    1 PS1 game
    Dynamic themes
    Avatars
    Full game trial
    Qore
    Add-on DLC

Of course, I’m sure nobody at Sony really cares as long as new subscribers don’t notice.

    • Hi El_Hoardo – Thanks for your feedback. We definitely care about keeping our promise in regards to monthly content offered in Plus. We’ve never had a time yet where we haven’t kept that promise.

As for the minis, you can expect 3 minis for this month. Check back on Apr. 13th for the Plus blog post covering what the new minis will be. I know we’ve got offers lined up for 4/19 & 4/26.

      Thanks,
      Kristi

  • What about Red Faction: Battlegrounds? I thought that was a free download for PS+ subscribers starting April 5th…?

  • @15 the unique thing about ps+ is you have to take advantage of the offers when they’re present. the amount of game trials i’ve had since i’ve been a plus member is overwhelming. Qore publishes once a month so if its not in this update you’ll still get it, and the free games whether they’re minis or psn or ps1 games. i have over 20 ps+ games free, so be patient. ive been invited to 3 betas and got free avatars and free dynamic themes, its all about timing, and last month was probably the best month for ps+ subscribers. PATIENTS IS KEY

  • Thanks Kristi, I know Plus has offered many free avatars and thanks for that. However we haven’t seen any Plus exclusive avatars since launch. Exclusive as in ones designed just for Plus members, that you can’t get anywhere else ;)

  • Kristi, is AC1 gonna have trophies patch now that it will be available via PSN? Thanks!

  • last PS+ update was kinda weak.. I think its a dumb idea to have a 38 avatar bundle when most people will only use one or two of them. Much rather have 4 free like the Pocket Streetfighter ones.

  • @Kristi HI! LOL in response to @11 post lol

  • God of War phone game should come to ‘Minis’ next month exclusive to PS+, than everyone else later like what happen to Sonc the Hedgehog.

  • Ditto on Assassin’s Creed re: Trophies

  • as much as i like my psn + for its perks, enjoy the beta and discount.. slappin a sega game with trophy support dont feel like it counts as a psn title.. it was not what i sign up for with ps+.. I expected a fresh new psn title every 1st tues of the month.. and as much as i do enjoy sonic.. i know their 4 more sega games coming.. :/ .. mmhh.. is any one else here on this with me ???

    • Hi Rotsujin- In addition to the Sega GENESIS, we’re still offering a free PSN title for the month. Comet Crash was the last PSN title offered for free, and the next title will come out on 4/26. Hope that helps.

    • Typo – meant ‘in addition to the SEGA Genesis collection’

  • So, will AC1 support trophies since it’s PSN-ish available? Enlighten us all please!
Aw, and I really wanted that MvC3 avatar bundle. Then again, Capcom had to delay some stuff before ’cause of the earthquake…
Please respond to my [and tons of others] question concerning if AC1 will support trophies now. Thanks!

  • @26 i kind of feel you, but as gamers we are too spoiled and just can’t appreciate what we have with that benefit. at least you can gripe, most people don’t have ps+ and still complain because of what it can’t do, lol. however too much Sonic in my opinion, i got my eyes on Streets of Rage 2 in May : ) they should of mixed up the Sonic titles because between Altered Beast, Streets of Rage and Sonic i would choose the others over Sonic anyday of the week. plus i feel weird playing Sonic on anything other then a sega genesis..

  • any chance on the killzone 3 avatars from eu coming here. ive been waiting for so long for some then i see that eu got them kind of disappointed

  • Dungeon Hunter seems promising, but ill have to watch some videos, or play a demo to see if its right for me or not.

While im still a fairly new users to PS+ i just cant seem to find the point of these Full Game Trials. there are usually a ton of GB of data which would mean you need to spend time downloading/installing them, but you only get 1 hour to actual play/enjoy it. Just a suggestion, but can we raise the limit of when we can play because its a feature i would like to use, but i just dont see the point in wasting hours downloading a game im only going to play for only 1 hour.

  • @30 GO TO YOUTUBE, ITS AN IPHONE APP AND ITS LISTED AS DUNGEON HUNTER 2. IT LOOKS GOOD FOR THE ASKING PRICE

  • How about some worthwhile add ons, the majority of them have been for old games? also would be nice if another deal like Sam & Max was offered for Jurassic Park or Back to the future. My thoughts on these Genesis games being released on PSN is that the majority feel half assed.. really they couldnt up the resolution?

  • The righteous indignation of some of the plus kiddies on here is disgusting. Not every bonus offer is going to appeal to you, and you may already have purchased much of what goes on sale or is awarded for free, that’s how it’s designed.
It’s a dollar a week for Christ’s sake! You are getting way more than your money’s worth, trust me.

  • Btw the automatic download has been barely used.. why not set it up so every week all of the free content on PS+ is automatically downloaded? could also even add demos and videos from the regular Store update as well.

  • wait, in order to re release AC 1 on the store.. don’t they have to add trophy support? I could have sworn that that was a rule?

  • @Kristi

If we are getting another mini for the month, I’m happy. Giving out the two old ones, and seeing every comment go unanswered on the previous PS Plus post gave the appearance that we wouldn’t be getting any new ones that long time subscribers didn’t already have.

I disagree though when you say the original promise hasn’t been broken. There have been absolutely no game add-ons offered since the Warhawk bundle in the third month of PS Plus. I don’t believe there have even been any discounts on add-ons. If was something clearly advertised as a feature…

“Each month there will be dynamic themes, premium avatars and premium game elements/add-ons for you to download and many will be exclusive to PlayStation Plus members only. These are yours to keep forever once you have downloaded them.”

That’s a quote from the very first PS Plus post on the PS Blog. And I’ve even seen “add-ons” in a PS+ advertisement on the PS Store recently. The Warhawk map pack bundle was the last, and basically the only “premium game element/add-on” that we’ve ever been offered.

    • No problem. Here are some examples of add-on offers in Plus:

Discounts – Fat Princess Fat Roles, Resistance 2 Aftermath, Super Stardust Team & Solo, LBP Monster Costume Pack, Red Dead Redemption – Liars & Cheats, Nitemare Pack, and Legends & Killers, Tom Clancy Hawx 2 All In One Pack, R.U.S.E. The Chimera Pack, MAG Starter Kit,

Free – All Tik-Games add-on (5 titles), UFC TUF Unlock, High velocity Bowling Move Add-On, GOW III – Dominus Skin

  • @30: I agree entirely. The trials actually take up more memory than the actual game in cases. Take PS Move Heroes for example: The game is 6.5 GB, whereas the trial is 11GB. What gives for the extra memory filler?

  • @18 It was for new subscribers that got the email about the offer.

  • @36 I agree with the add ons comment… EU got all of the Fallout 3 DLC for free and we have yet to get something worthwhile as far as add ons go.

  • im going on a vacation for 2 months next week and im a ps+ subscriber. I obviously cant take my ps3 so i was wondering whether its possiblr for ps+ to automatically download the ps+ content onto my ps3 when im away??
since I c demos automatically downloaded, there must be a way to download games such as comet crash right??

  • @34 if you have any games you haven’t played in a while and it has a patch required for online play, etc. start it up and then quit. your automatic download will patch the game for you when your away. its really a good feature and seems like the time it takes to download is reduced alot when you use that feature. try it, its really useful and its saves alot of headaches having to wait to play something.

  • @39…man, as someone who recently beat FO3 and saw the story stop dead in its tracks, I could really use that free DLC!

  • @Kristi

You got me on the discounted ones, but the free ones are still awfully weak.

Those Tik-games add-ons I believe have just been offered since day one and their appeal is awfully limited. The UFC thing was originally a pre-order bonus, the HVB add-on was basically just a patch, and was eventually made available to everyone, and the GOW skin was just a skin.

A Warhawk map pack was the original monthly offering and I made my purchase of Plus based on that. I was expecting similar content each month. The ones offered are very minor, and don’t come close to something like a Warhawk map pack in terms of value or appeal.

And again, Sony’s wording was “each month” but you only listed a handful of add-ons. Quite a few months have gone by with nothing at all, and nothing has ever come close to the value of the Warhawk add-on.

By comparison, Europe has gotten five Fallout 3 add-ons worth $50, a MotorStorm: Pacific Rift track pack, and a Killzone 2 map pack, and it was all entirely free.

    • :) El_Hoardo you’re killing me! That wasn’t the full list of everything offered. The list was just to set straight Plus has has offered DLC discounts often and regularly.

  • Was just about to join Plus, but noticed that the 12 month lost the extra 3 months.

Any chance this promo coming back?

  • I’m glad it was cleared up that Sonic was not the free PSN game of the month, I was about to be very upset. It pays to read comments before posting your own. It’s nice to see you guys replied to the concern about it as well.

  • @41 you didn’t read what I wrote at all. I do use the automatic download feature.. yea its good for downloading patches, but it is also used to download “select” content which isn’t decided by us (i.e MK Demo). It would be great if it could download all of the FREE content that is posted on PS+ and the PS Store when they are released on Tuesday. They wouldn’t have to force everyone to use this, just add it as an option to turn on that way I wouldn’t have to go through the store to download stuff when it will be downloaded on its own.

  • Please any chance of the MLB the Show 11 themes? As the season does start tomorrow and they’re only available in the US store :-(

  • Whoa wait – UFC TUF pack is free? Or supposed to be?

How come it isn’t for me?

  • @Kristi I am pleased so far with PS+ and if I were to do the calculations.. I believe it already returned and gave me more for my $50 investment. However the FREE add-on content offered is a bit skimpy.. I do notice that some of the discounts were great such as the RDR DLC.

Free – All Tik-Games add-on (5 titles), UFC TUF Unlock, High velocity Bowling Move Add-On, GOW III – Dominus Skin

This does not match what our European counterpart has been getting for free.. I would suggest adding the AC2 DLC or even match EU and throw in the Fallout 3 DLC to the list of free ones.. I understand that it isn’t always possible to get the latest and greatest since the publisher just released it and obviously wants to make a profit not to mention that it would be tough to get it on there. I would also like to see an upgraded version of the Automatic Download as I have previously commented on. But with titles such as Stacking, Sam & Max and Shatter… PS+ is well worth it

  • @Kristi

Haha, sorry. It’s just that you’re the first to ever respond to me, so I gotta make my point.

Maybe there has been some other DLC offered, but I’m 100% positive nothing comparable to the Warhawk map packs, or anything like the MotorStorm, Killzone, or Fallout packs Europe received have been offered for free. The little things like the God of War skin are nice, but they just aren’t comparable to bigger add-ons like map packs.

I saw that Warhawk map pack available when PS+ launched, and signed up based on that, thinking something comparable would be offered each month.

I don’t want to make it sound like I’m expecting something like the Call of Duty First Strike pack on release day each month, but I’m sure there is some older stuff like the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift packs, or Killzone 2 packs, or Uncharted 2 add-ons that could be offered for free.
