We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security.
We thank you for your patience to date and ask for a little more while we move towards completion of this project. We will continue to give you updates as they become available.
This is precisely the reason why we shouldn’t have a console that depends on online updates. THANKS A LOT SONY.
What needs to occur is that the PS3 needs to be free to play games and do things with out involving updating the thing or having to access the PSN Just to upload to youtube and face book. that is a complete waste of recourses. allow the thing to do it naturally.. Don’t make it so complicated. Why should we have to log in to 2 accounts just for face book and youtube?
But then after waht you guys did to us users of the Other OS wasn’t fair..and Enough with
the security risks. it was never proven how ever Financial incentives were proven.
So I think the Karma has came around and bit you in the rear. “Bad Karma given to us”= “Bad Karma Given right back.
Now don’t take me wrong, I would never wish what happened in Japan to any one, not even my worst enemy. But when a company goes around Hurting there consumers something has to give.

I was just happy that I had went into the menu for Qriocity and told it not automatically renew my subscription before the psn went down. Though i do wish I had gotten to use it for my full free month……..

@data I don’t see how we are dependent on online updates with the PS3. People are just upset they can’t game online. Its not like it is some sort of thing where if we are not connected to the PSN we can’t use our PS3s.

@Lopez9577 (post 383) Amazon is currently offering a buy one, get one 50% off, through at least today. Including Mass Effect 2 in the list. So if you’re thinking of buying, and a disc copy is an option, its a good route to look into. Their accessories are part of the list, so you could get the game and half off a Move controller even for example. Anyways, everyone have a great day and Happy Easter!
@+ kingotnw eh try uploading pics using the PS3 to”FaceBook”. it requires both PS3 Log in and FB Log IN. eh that is what I am talking about .Same thing with “You Tube” and “Picassa”
@ Lopez I am very happy with the PSN updates we have been given. I don’t see why you guys don’t just go to the otgher console if you are so hell bent on talking smack about this one. I have all systems… We’ll see how you like the crap 360 UI updates. PS3 has been pushing their system to do more. In truth… I have a 3DTV, so the recent update that added 3D support was a god send for me. Just because YOU PERSONALLY don’t like the updates does not mean the rest of us don’t. Quite seriously… if you don’t like your PS3 then just go to the Microsoft side of things and stop making ours days worse with your drivel.

@Data but who cares?? You would run into the same problem on the 360. Just use your phone or your computer for the couple more days the PSN is down to do it. You guys are way bent out of shape over nothing. Not to mention, that in no way shape of form qualifies as the console being dependent on a network connection. That qualifies as Facebook being dependent on a network connection, which is a given as you need a net connection running in order to use it. You also need a OS, like WIndows or the MacOS in order to access it. Should we send them hate mail too?
@Data also, Youtube, Facebook, and Picassa all require three separate logins on a PC as well… They are all owned and operated by separate companies. Asking for a unique login for everything on the net is unreasonable to say the least.

if these people are so ready to abandon the ps3 let them go they are the exact type of people who belong on xbox when they leave and the network comes back up there will be way less name calling online and we will have a gamers utopia of fair play and encouragement so even though im hoping for the network to come back asap if it stays down long enough to get rid of these people it wouldnt be that bad

Instead of going outside its probably a good time to try out MMO. Just picked up Guild Wars and it done wonders with destroying my social life. Being a spawn of evil has its benefits >:)

Nice, Guild Wars is awesome. Played from the beginning up to the 3rd expansion then I lost interest, but I do go back on occasionally and get my ass handed to me in PvP.

Still very much a noob to the whole MMO world. Kind of just soloing Guild Wars until i figure out most of the games features. I do love playing a lot of fighting games on the psn though (Blazblue, MVC3). Actually looking forward to update for Blazblue next month (new balance and character). Also got mk9 copy tuesday but i have yet to play it online with any of my buddies lol

ME3 seems like it’ll be good! I’ll just mooch of my friend if he buys it while I attempt in getting Uncharted 3 (perhaps a Collector’s edition of it) if Assassin’s Creed 3 is coming in holdays this year
I plan to pre order both ME3 and UNCHARTED 3 for them extras.
I want UC3, Resistance 3, Mass Effect 3 too many 3’s & maybe dead island I hope its co op like l4d because that would be awesome
