Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

All you guys (bloggers) can do is, always demand for this or that. demand for an apology, a date, i want, i want, i want….. All of these demands and suits for what Sony gave you to begin with, FREE GAMING !!!! At which, Sony in the end gave you !!! During all of this time, all Sony asked for was “Your patience”. But you wasnt willing to give Sony that. You all should be ashamed of yourselves !!! “We all owe” Sony an apology for complaining for something that Sony gave away for free to begin with… And for those that filed suits against Sony, give up your consoles since you dont want to be apart of Sony anymore!!!!! FIRST READ # 42 # 44 AND 45,then read this.There is a voice of reason amongst the noise. I find it suspcious that the first 41 comments had nothing but acolades (good things to say) for Sony. This seems more like (Sony) plants (people who are commenting who are on their payroll) or Sony filtering (choosing not to put in the “negative stuff”).
When a company or person does a wrong, the wronged party expects restitution (payback) and said party is not praised for “finally” fixing the said wrong. So let’s get this straight. A)Sony looses customers identity,B) Lie to their customers and drag on the onlinne restoration due date C)Deprave customers for over a month on services many use on a daily basis, and most people Thank them for that??????!!!!! (what kind of sense does that make?). No wonder Sony was able the sale the highest costing console in history. Clearly they know their consumers.

I would never do a stupid thing like buying a xbox just because of a short outage of a FREE service when the service of xbox is a “PAID” one and it’s was having an outage too in the past.
I don’t like the thinking behing games on xbox, the low variety of genres on it and the kid-oriented cod and all other games on it.
For the ones asking about the PS Store, read the whole posts here, it’ll be back on May 31at MAX, maybe before, what do people want the more quickly was able to play online, non? We got it, so, we just have to be happy to play online again for now.
For the ones here caring about the CC info, you do know that ALL CREDIT CARDS have a kingdof “no-fault” componnent that PROTECT YOU if something is bought with your credit card and it’s not you. Stop being paranoid with things as little as this, most people put their pictures, street adresses, phone number and even family lnks with the name of their mother and father on Facebook so your personal infos are already compromised, by YOUR fault!

@HawnKeez, like you said, Sony is a COMPANY. They’re allowed to have policies and all that crap all they want. One part of all that crap is that they don’t want people hacking. It makes the game less fun for other people. I was on Black Ops and I tried to shoot a guy, but it froze! When it unfroze, the guy disappeared!!! Same thing for other kinds of hackers. Sony has a right to a lawsuit against people who make the game less fun for others. I’m just saying.
Meh, America first when America is time wise behind Europe… really cheeses me off big time..

Thanks guys for the hard work. I really enjoy that Sony didn’t give up and tried their hardest. I knew it would be back online and I didn’t let people tell me XBOX is better. I am glad for the new security system. Another thing, do you have a confirmed date for when PS store will be back up?

@1655 Hacking? not at all All Pc’s store a form of Cookies that save frequently accessed web page, images, or forums.
every time you enter in a URL you PC makes a kind of place holder of that website, think of it as a kind of book mark.
also if that site has any form of log in, You PC can often save Pasword and account name information.
some sights even make it say by having a “Stay Logged in” option.
Hacking has nothing to do with it, it all depends on the persons Personal PC settings and Web browser they are using.

THanks Sony I never lost faith still remember trading in my nintendos and segas to purchase my first PS1 Destruction durby and Twisted metal black. Tried X-Box and sold it quickly Just wanted to thank you Ive been a fan since the begining. Now time for Black Ops See yall there!
