You’ve been requesting it, so for the first time, we’ll be broadcasting the entirety of the PlayStation press conference directly into this Blog. Additionally, we’re setting up a mini-studio in the PlayStation booth, and we’ll be bringing in developers while the show floor is open for interviews, live demos and to answer your questions via a built-in chat module. It all starts right here on June 6th.
UPDATE: We’ve got several hundred more entries than we’ve got spots open, so we’re cutting off the entries now. We’ll grade the papers over the next few days and contact winners by email. Thanks for entering!
Since this is an LA event, we’d still like to do something for some of our Southern California fans. Because our press conference is already at capacity, we unfortunately won’t be able to get anyone into building (again, everyone can watch the livestream right here). However, we were able to secure over one hundred 3-day passes to the E3 Expo, where attendees can visit our booth and go hands-on with NGP and our stellar PS3 lineup as a guest of PlayStation.
We want to make sure only the biggest local PlayStation fans get in, so instead of having folks queue up in the unpredictable Spring weather (as has been the case in past years), we’ve created a web quiz you can take from the comfort of [wherever you are sitting].
Here are a few things to note:
- E3 takes place from June 7-9th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, so you’ll obviously need to be in SoCal during that time to attend. Don’t bother taking the quiz if you won’t be there!
- You must be 18 or older to attend E3 – that’s their rule! Your ID will be checked when you go to pick up your badge, so if you’re under 18… don’t bother taking the quiz!
- E3 badges are non-transferable, so if you’re not sure if you’re going to be able to attend… don’t bother taking the quiz!
- The information we’re asking for (name & email address only) is required for all attendees by the ESA, who run the E3 Expo. We won’t ask for any additional info!
- We’ll grade quizzes and select winners by late next week, and contact winners via email with information on how to pick up your passes.

@Mcbuttz – take a look at my previous post on page 4, 188, too much to spam the blog with again. No it’s not their fault but people who want to use it/ spend money through it are very curious to the status, and we’re not feeling very confident or listened to when we say that input was a bit too long ago and not very clear in the first place. We just want some regular, day by day updates on the project, and some sincere mention of gratitude for turning to Sony for entertainment in the first place. The least someone in PR could do is just say they see all of the questions, and do what they can to remind consumers they really do appreciate our continued interest and exuberance for their services. If anything it’s a compliment to Sony that so many people take the time to post about their services – means that people were happy enough with their product that they still want it. Imagine if no one posted, no one cared about it – that’d be a bad sign for Sony if the store going down didn’t generate any response at all.
And Jeff – you made 15 replies in the first 100 posts, but no love for everyone after? Sadness!

@ 238Also isf bought insurance you can get another one if you have the original reciept for the one you lost..I think for up up to 7 days i think. I dontknow if they still do that at sony..

@MCbuttz – you can only deactive it by manually connecting it to the PS3 – I tried that already…
And, I did buy a PSP Go! I really love it, it’s a niche product but man do I fall into that niche! And I was able to download my games via the PSN through my download history, so I was able to play some of my fav games again. I’m surprised Sony hasn’t mentioned that about psp (or is it just psp go?) users.
Well bigbaddoom let me claify where I stand and most everyone els stands. We want some sort of REAL update on the status of the store’s restoration, may it be good or bad. The fact that they refuse to give us one dispite thousands of blogers asking for one. That, along with all the other crap thats been going on, is what has frustrated me to the point of bashing the company. Their lack of communication is unacceptable. I mean how hard would it be to give us some kind of real information on the status of the store? The only explaination I can see is that they don’t care and that they have a “you don’t need to know” attitude. Having said all that I think is not inappropriat to unleash a little harmless blog bashing. Join the club.

@ 255 its for all psp’s I think. Also as far as i know its a day to day up date. Thay dont to do much butpost maitence is happening for the servers and the store. Yea i know that suck but thats the law of the internet.
They only have upto date us day to day or every 24 hrs.. And i agree i have 2 psp a psp fat and psp go.
I put a chain sting on my psp so it wont slide out my pocket or get a phone case and line into my belt for my pant line a phone holder,

@251 I don’t understand why that is done as well, but then again after so many posts and seeing ssdd you might stop as well. Yeah it would be nice to get an update every once in awhile but they can only say what they are allowed to. Companies learn from the past and may decide not to post anything but something can come up. And no I’m not an extreme follower or will agree with anything people say. I haven’t agreed with certian things but kept my mouth shut because what I really want to say would get deleted and that’s more at people posting. Maybe people should try to think about what they would do if they were in the companies shoes and had a large amount of policies/practices they have to follow to the letter.

He had huge body guards around him . i went to shake his hand and say hi. and this guy about 6’8 300 odd lbs step right front of me.. Now im amiltary man im not small but this guy was huge arms big as whole body..

I’ll be sure to come here for the stream during the press conference. Hopefully there’s a deccent amount of good qaulity first party PS3 games at the show.
And hopefully there isn’t any problem with the streaming due to a good bit of folks coming here, wanting to see the conference as well.

@nick. alot of us here really dont care those kinda blogs. Its nice here almost 90% of the time.Unless itsa dev who rip people off like activision. Activision is a very greedy company . They also talked us down on thier web site. told jeff to make rules so they can be treated with respect here..
