Starting soon, the PlayStation Network will be inaccessible for several hours for maintenance. The server maintenance performed at this time represents a crucial step in the full restoration for PSN, including the PlayStation Store.
During this maintenance period, users will be unable to sign in to PSN, though those that are already logged in should be able to remain online.
Resumption of full PlayStation Network service is still on track for this week in most regions.
Thank you once again for your patience as we work to return PSN to the highest level of service.

Really appreciate the heads-up *before* the PSN became inaccessible this time. As a precaution I logged in to the PSN to hold my spot should I want to play later in the day.

Why does that sound like another delay coming, i remeber the maintence last week was signaling the return of the ps store, Sony isn’t fooling me, I’m not putting any stock into what they say after missing several deadlines.

They gave us a generic “by the end of the month” estimate. When the end of the month came they said, within the week (between monday and friday). Keep your pants on kid they’ll get it up.
ppl sure as hell dont read, this is a STEP to get the psn store back up some time this week.

Wow. Sony actually is posting some info on their progress. Not much, but at least they’re acknowledging that they’re hitting a milestone today. We don’t know where it is in the grand scheme of things, but it’s apparently a significant step.
As I’ve said before, what Sony needs to learn from this experience is that they need to do a better job of managing customer expectations. When something is wrong and the company only provides silence, the customer base gets frustrated and/or mad. And, I don’t think any company wants a discontent customer base.

You know, I wouldn’t have minded this if you’d said something about it being fully operational after the maintenance was done. Actually, since I have even turned my PS3 on in two days (work and leisure have been taking my time), I guess I don’t mind all that much either way. I just don’t like the principle.
