Starting soon, the PlayStation Network will be inaccessible for several hours for maintenance. The server maintenance performed at this time represents a crucial step in the full restoration for PSN, including the PlayStation Store.
During this maintenance period, users will be unable to sign in to PSN, though those that are already logged in should be able to remain online.
Resumption of full PlayStation Network service is still on track for this week in most regions.

That’s cool I will be at work anyway, maybe the store will be up tomorrow so the complainers can complain about something else. I can already see it now. “Dang it Sony! You bought back the store and didn’t give me a free avatar! How rude!” :) Keep up the good work Sony!

wow, so no time of when this maintenance will be… just “some time today”… really professional. i’ll just shut my ps3 off until Saturday, i highly doubt the PS store will be up and running today, more like “end of week” aka Friday evening or something.

Yeah GOLDENEYE was the game to play, didn’t have multiplayer unless you had your room filled with people taking turns. LOSERS GIVE UP THEIR STICKS

We need maintenance or we can’t have the store, so why don’t you be patient, while they fix it for us.
@364 You need to call Sony. The only way to deactivate a PS3 is to deactivate it from the system Account Management menu before you get rid of it or have Sony reset it on their end. I had mine YLOD which prevented me from deactivating it on my end, so I gave Sony a call. Emailing them is a waste of time. All you get are canned responses.
at 364…you’ll have to call sony to deactivate a system you don’t have anymore, I did it for my systems and PSP’s that were linked to my account, and they took them right off. Just call them, it doesn’t take long, just have the serial number on your current playstation(s) ready so they don’t get taken off of the list!

I used the PSN is DOWN excuse with my son during the BLACKOPS double XP weekend.
If it takes a long time they should have the store and the map pack ready
