Coming to PlayStation Plus: Free Content and Discounts Galore, Trials for Ghost Recon and EA Sports MMA

Hi everyone,

First of all, welcome back and many thanks for everyone’s patience as we worked to restore the PlayStation Store! It’s been more than a month now since our last PlayStation Plus update, but with the Store back up and running we have some great announcements about free games, discounts and exclusives for Plus subscribers – all coming to you in two publishes: June 3 and June 7.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to introduce Morgan Haro, Community Manager for PlayStation Network. Morgan joined the PlayStation team back in March and he’ll be answering your questions and offering feedback in the comments section.

Free Games and DLC
PlayStation Plus is offering the PS one title Lilo & Stitch for free on June 7, and the MAG Escalation Mission Pack add-on becomes available for free starting June 3.

Huge Discounts
Plus is offering 50% discounts for Tumble, Shank, Death Spank, Death Spank Thongs of Virtue, and Dead Space Ignition. All prices are listed below.

Exciting Exclusives
The June 3rd publish will excite all the mixed martial arts fans out there as we kick things off with the full-game trial for EA Sports MMA Digital.

The June 3 publish also includes the Resident Evil 4 – 10 Avatar Bundle for $0.99, and the June 7 publish includes the inFAMOUS 2 Dynamic Theme for free!

To round out the exclusive offers, the full-game trial for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 will become available in a special E3 publish on June 9.

When can we expect the promised “welcome back” package? Now that the store is up, it would seem there are no further barriers to this. It would be a shame if we all had to wait until June 6 for our Playstation Plus free trial, just so Sony can look like big heroes during the E3 press conference.

  Marketing Mode *on: You can get a year of Plus for $49.99 (that’s just over $4/month) or get a 3 month subscription for $17.99. Don’t forget that the Welcome Back package gives you 30 days of Plus as well, but any subscription you purchase during that time will be stacked automatically as well. Marketing Mode *off

When can we expect to see everyone that isn’t a PlayStation Plus Member to get there Free PlayStation Plus??

I hope they choose a different color other then a yellow Plus like us Paying Members… I would like it to be something other then yellow.. can that be possible please say yes.. I like to be an Elite Member not look like everyone else.

@22 @ballagh Call of Duty Black Ops struck a deal with Microsoft to have all the DLC content to be first on XBOX and It most likely applies to PC.

Just look at it this way.. they get to see content first but if theres a bug in that content they will be the first to experience it haha.. we should get the better end of the stick out of this and by my judge we do.

Not quite the PS+ return I was hoping for. Best thing is the inFamous 2 dynamic theme and maybe DeathSpank discount. Hopefully the next update will be better. Kind of figured the first month back would be big to try and convince non-PS+ers to keep it after their 30 days for PSN being down.

I almost forgot. I checked the PS Plus Q&As from last year but couldn’t get an answer. Hope you can help me.

I tried a full game trial(ModNation Racers). It expired. I can get trophies when playing trials but on the Q&As says trophies will not unlock until I buy the game there. My question is: Can I get the retail version(getting it new obviusly) and still have those trophies I unlocked during the trial version?
