Jeremy here live from E3. Last night at our press conference in LA, we revealed Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest, a brand new game title for PlayStation Move from Zindagi Games and San Diego Studio, the same team that brought you the best selling Move title, Sports Champions. So you know you can expect best in breed motion controls with an emphasis on fun gameplay. Medieval Moves is the first action adventure game that uses a unique set of motion controls to seamlessly transition between throwing stars, sword fighting and archery for an intuitive and immersive gameplay experience.

The story behind Medieval Moves involves the evil Sorcerer Morgrimm who has invaded Prince Edmund’s Castle and plots to take over the kingdom, raising an army of skeletons from beyond. While trying to stop Morgrimm, our hero, Prince Edmund is also turned into a skeleton! Now named “Deadmund”, he must fight to save his homeland and defeat Morgrimm and his minions to restore order to the kingdom.

You control your character’s actions with the Move controller with a slash of the sword, shooting an arrow, or flinging throwing stars and much more. There is no cumbersome inventory system or weapon selection screen, you do the action and it just works. For example with an enemy in your face, the sword and shield are perfect. Swing your arms to swing the sword and hold the Move button to position your shield. If you see a distant enemy, reach back for an arrow from your quiver for pinpoint accuracy. Sometimes quantity counts, so grab a throwing star or three with the T button and let them fly as fast as you can throw.

This is only the start, there is so much more to be found in Medieval Moves! This Fall you will be able to face off against a relentless army of skeletons and experience an all new action adventure with your PlayStation Move! Stay tuned for more information in the weeks and months ahead.

I hope that they were just working on the motion controls for this demo and will make movement be player controlled for the final game. It really makes the difference between having the potential for being an excellent game and being a throwaway game. Even if they’re interested in implementing dual-Move support, I think they could put movement in with the face buttons or something. Otherwise it just has the same shortcomings as those on-rail Kinect games…

  • Wow! How long has it been since we saw a Medieval game?

I want cross game chat just to shut the people who talk about cross game chat….ugh!
I wonder how many begging for it will even use it? Or if it’s made a plus feature, how many would subscribe…and how many would threaten to switch consoles?

  • Please NO cross game chat!

  • And thanks for another sweet looking move game my daughter got really excited when she saw this game so did I a bit but I want more as always. I would love to see a first person rpg in the spirit of oblivion it seems that game had about everything the move is about i remember playing it for the first time and thinking how cool it would be to have a controller like the move. I also remember playing a demo for the eyetoy on ps2 that used color tracking for casting different types of spells. just think on it sony :)

  • Where was SORCERY? Where was SPORTS CHAMPIONS 2!!! So dissapointed, sad to say this game looks worse than both…

  • I almost thought this was a new “MediEvil” game with Sir Daniel Fortesque. This looks pretty decent, but you guys got my hopes a little too high.

I’ll still be waiting for Sir Dan’s jump to PS3.

  • Ya know, if it wasn’t on rails, I’d think it was really cool, but if it is only on rails, I’ll pass

  • on-rails is cool so long as there’s a puzzle element to “solving” a battle — something I really liked from Costume Quest!

hopefully it has better graphics than Sports Champions, which was just plain emeberassing.
