PlayStation has long been synonymous with technology and innovation and with the upcoming launch of PlayStation Vita, this year is no different. In addition to delivering an unparalleled gaming experience with PS Vita, we’re expanding the PlayStation 3 offering with a number of new products that will bring you some of the most immersive gaming experiences on the market.
Among the new technology unveiled at E3 is the 3D Display, which features a 24” LCD screen with full HD 1080p 3D presentation. Available at retailers nationwide starting this fall, the 3D Display is uniquely enhanced for gaming with a special two-player feature, offering best-in-class visuals in both 2D and 3D. The 3D Display utilizes an exclusive feature that optimizes two-player mode by delivering individual full HD screens, giving each person their own full screen view of the action on the same display while playing co-op or head-to-head. With an ultra-slim PlayStation inspired bezel design and built-in speakers and subwoofer, the 3D Display is big on image quality and sound and delivers all of your HD media simply by connecting to PS3, PC or cable TV box. It’s perfect for bedrooms, dorm rooms or wherever you want to play the best 3D console games.
We also announced official 3D Glasses, which are optimized for gaming with comfortable stylish design and built-in rechargeable battery – a perfect match for the 3D Display. You’ll get a pair of these with the 3D Display, but you can also purchase them separately for $69.99 (MSRP) – and you’ll probably want to, given the new exclusive feature on the 3D Display. In addition, the 3D Glasses will work with a variety of active shutter type of 3D TVs and displays.
Each 3D Display will include one pair of 3D Glasses as well as an HDMI cable and a copy of Resistance 3 on Blu-ray disc—all of $499.99 (MSRP)
Resistance 3, The Doomsday Edition is without a question the best way to experience the upcoming title from Insomniac Games. The bundle, which includes a copy of the game on Blu-ray disc, a PlayStation Move motion controller, navigation controller, PlayStation Eye, and PlayStation Move sharp shooter, will be available at retailers nationwide on September 6, 2011, for $149.99 (MSRP). Taking advantage of the sharp shooter’s authentic, ergonomic design and pinpoint precision with the PlayStation Move locked in, the Chimeran menace will have nowhere to hide.
Not long ago, we announced the official PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset

The TV looks pretty awesome. Will it be shown in any major retailers?
Vita+AT&T= Sucks
no bigger size than a 24 inch? and does it work as a tv also?
sweet
LOOKS AMAZING I WANT IT!
@#3
“the 3D Display is big on image quality and sound and delivers all of your HD media simply by connecting to PS3, PC or cable TV box.”
I’m So getting this TV,
I hope they make bigger ones too !
Also…can we have TV and PS3 at the same time? It would be awesome to be able to use the display for a baseball game, and a video game at the same time.
You guys don’t understand, they made the TV small so that it can be cheaper and also work with their split screen 3D co-op technology. They also boasted at E3 the idea of using it in dorms where you don’t have the room for a big TV.
I might be getting this for my other room, with another PS3 maybe :) Let’s see. Maybe there will be bigger diagonals too …
EPIC
Bought, you have my $499.
Or save that $500 and buy a real 3D display.
I want this. Thsi is awesome!!!! :)
Ahh prob tons of lag on these comments, but I’m re posting anyway! Epic Tv for an epic price! Way to go Sony! I will be getting this no doubt :D
Sony, you walked off the stage with e3 on a leash!
This is cool but is too small. Cmon make a Bigger one! 42″ 55″ etc plz !
Great deal.
Make a 32 inch bundle Sony!!!
Is it only Resistance 3 that will support the new no split-screen feature? And is it only 2d when the feature is in use?
Here’s the scary thing: I predicted this kind of multiplayer capabilities back in August of last year:
http://destroyedcontroller.blogspot.com/2010/08/future-of-multiplayer-split-screen-3d.html
The way that the TV works with 3D glasses is beyond my imagination. Kudos to you, Sony!
Yeah, I’d like to see a much larger screen. I’ve been holding off on upgrading, but I want to go at least 55″. That’s some pretty cool tech, though. And the Vita price is AWESOME!!!
I’m sooo sold on Vita. I already have a 3D set though. Can’t wait for R3. Any chance the 3D trailer will be up tomorrow?
$500 for a 24″ 3D LCD? Kind of pricey even if it does include a HDMI cable and pair of glasses. Its the 24″ size for the price that concerns me. Maybe a 32″ and I would buy it.
Does it work as a TV and a computer screen?
great work sony and you too jack, u took it all the way home. 3D TV and PS Vita was blow my mind.
where can u get this in canada?
Want…!!!!!!!
I HAVE A 19* ON MY ROOM since thats all that fits..I think this 24inch wood wrk better as my 19inch is too small when i sit far away and this t.v is 3d 1080 while my small t.v is only 720p
I might consider buying this t.v as i also have a 48inch HD 3DTV sony bravia and i havent bought any glasses yet..
Any word on it being sold in Canada?
This will be bought. I do wish the display was larger, but I am happy nonetheless. I’ll put this in my bedroom.
24 is my favorite number but
not for a tv especially for gaming!
i’ll wait for the reviews on this.
@3 why wouldn’t it work as a TV lmao honestly that was a stupid question bro
Would be worth it more if it was at least 32″ or 36″ :) I have a 65″ 1080p 3D that cost 2k so bring the price down or boom the screen lol
This TV is HOT!
can i use split screen 3D co-op technology in my 3d tv or sould i buy the new one ?
Is it safe to assume this split screen feature will work with the 3D Bravia i have? Or does this TV have different hardware to do it? I would think its still the same tech just output differently.
Can the 3D Sony Bravia provide this two player full screen view as well? Or is this exclusive for this 3D TV?
will it work on pc?
i’ll buy it . But i’m looking for a 32″ at least, i hope they will announce more sizes later.
two glasses and you have a deal
It’ really too bad this display is so small… If it was 32″-37″ and was $600 I would jump all over it. Oh well, back to saving up for a real 3DTV…
wow how the hell does the third one work?
they look super imposed and super cluttered…
still, awesome!
yeah will there be a bigger size tv? cause i got 22″ and thats pretty small.
Is the TV coming out in the EU also? (Specifically in Ireland, perhaps?)
By the way, what’s the price of the TV if you buy it separately instead of the bundle?
This actually might be worth it.
wow, those 3D glasses are the best ones I’ve ever seen too!
built-in rechargeable battery?!
stylish and extra comfortable?!?! wow again.
I hate being broke… );
Is there a way i can use this feature with my current 3D Bravia, i’m paying that over the next year :S
How much for the standalone tv? Im guessing like 400?
Will the 2 player tech be compatible with current Active 3DTVs as well? I just spent $2500 on a 59″ HDTV, and I’m not planning on buying another anytime soon!
That would look and be great in my room. Just need the cash for it. Dang. :(
