KZ3 Edge Challenge Open Next Week, $40K Up for Grabs

Hey guys, we know you’ve been waiting for full details on the massive Get Your EDGE $40,000 KZ3 Challenge taking place on VirginGaming.com. Well, we can finally share those details with you today. Here’s what the battlefield will look like…

The qualifying round of this 3v3 tournament opens up next Monday, June 27th and will run for six weeks. The top 32 teams at the end of the Qualifying Round will move on to the elimination phase where the last team standing will take home a whopping $10,000 in cold hard cash. And that’s just for starters, as the top 20 teams will also get a nice payday once the dust settles. But wait, there’s more!

In addition to the main team-based leaderboard, you can also score some extra cash in a series of individual stat-based weekly challenges. Here’s how it works: Each week, check VirginGaming.com/kz3 to find out what the EDGE Shave Gel Weekly Challenge is. During your qualifying matches, you’ll want to keep the weekly challenge in mind and try to not only win the match, but rank at the top of the EDGE Shave Gel Weekly Challenge leaderboard. We’re keeping it simple for the first week: The player with the most kills at the end of week one is going to end up $800 richer.

So, there you have it – a total of $40,000 is on the line, including chances to earn some bonus cash with the weekly challenges.   Thanks for registering. You don’t’ have to do a thing once you’re registered. Once your registration is complete, Virgin Gaming will automatically add Killzone 3 to your profile and you will receive any and all important messages from regarding the tournament. Not to worry – they will arm you with all the info you need in order to get started when the tournament gets underway.

  You should still enter! We will be running weekly individual challenges so that people can win, even if their team likely isn’t going to finish in the top 20. We will be announcing the weekly challenges every Monday.
  
  The first week’s challenge (for the week starting Monday, 6/27) is most kills. Whatever registered player scores the most kills at week’s end, is going walk away $800 richer.

Ya, I’m not planning on entering. Some of you guys and girls out there don’t take breaks from this game. I don’t think I stand a chance to people who don’t have rent to pay :-|

I only play this game for a few hours a night if even that, with all the hardcore players who never put this game down for one minute, I don’t stand a chance at winning. Therefore there is no point in entering. I don’t have to time to play for hours upon hours on end just to try to win a contest I stand no chance of winning in the first place.

I think he simply means that in terms of things like ” most kills” he doesnt have the time to win . lets say he is beast and best player ever , he gets 30 kills a game no problem . He can only play five hours a week . 150 kills . someone who plays all the time even if averaging 10 kills per game will out kill him simply from playing more .

Still think it is nice to include extra cash prizes though . So thumbs up .

This would be awesome if I were eighteen years old or older. I’m going to ask a serious question: Is it possible for me to beable to play if I got one of my parents to approve of me competing in this challenge? That would be awesome if you could, but I would understand otherwise.

A little clarification on the Canadian omit? Is it based on residency or where they play from in terms of location? I.E. they play in the US but are Canadian citizens.

Good luck to all individuals and clans, KZ3 I love it.If there’s another KZ tourney,Please include Canada any Clan would Love to have me, have yet to be killed online and I play alot, though not under the mouth62 moniker, sorry to say everyone that has posted so far has been my victim….. and no I don’t cheat just play 12- 16 hrs a day online.This would have been FUN, why? I would match dollar for dollar all winnings won if included in a clan BONUS, I’ m retired and can afford it.Spread the wealth my oldman use to say,10million inheritance helps, best of luck all!

1. Add your opposing team’s members to your friends on PlayStation Network.
2.Launch “Multiplayer” in Killzone 3.
3.The first time you enter this lobby, it will ask you to set your region.
4.Choose ‘Create Custom Game’.
5.Within the ‘Match Details’:
Set the match mode to ‘Guerrilla Warfare’.
Map voting should be set to ‘Off’.
Set ‘Unlocks’ to ‘All’ to ensure a fair, level playing field.
6.‘Restrictions’ MUST be set to ‘On’.
7.Within the `Maps` section, the host should only choose one (1) map for the match, the rest of the maps should be set to ‘None’.
8.Change the length of the mission to ’10 Minutes’ in the ‘Missions’ section.
9.Select ‘Invite to Squad’ and add players from your Virgin Gaming team, then select ‘Invite to Enemy Squad’ and add players from the opposing Virgin Gaming Team.
10.Hit ‘Create Game’ and the match will begin.
11.Once the match is completed, quit out of the results page to ensure your match validates.

BTW i see u guys deleted my rant comment…. thats not helping with this customer u see….im here to express myself as a large consumer of sony products AND seller of sony products since i work in gamestop… so consider the fact that theres a small group of gamers out there that they hav KZ3 right now in their houses bc i personally recommended the game saying “yes i have the game and its AWESOME! i recommend the game blindly!” so after i sign in to virgin games and find that im left behind….again….i think i have the reason to be

Professional NOTE: I notice that there hasn’t been in a long time someone who is in charge of marketing for sony in GameStop stores… thats bad since Microsoft DO have a marketing person who goes around the region going to all gamestops cheking if they have promotional marketing for Xbox360 and Kinect…. and if they dont… he give the store the marketing… so just saying and giving u a little piece of advise… thanks..

I’ve see plenty of information on how to find opponents and create matches.. Although, I’ve been having difficulty finding an option to add teammates to the team I created on Virgin Gaming. I have 2 friends that are signing up for it as well and I plan on having them as my teammates. Any suggestions??
