  • Thanks for tha early update…. keep it up Sony

  • Any news on Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI?

  • Yes, the new PS+ layout is much welcome. It lets me see the new content without having to sift through the old stuff I already purchased.

Bought Tales from Space, BTTF, Mighty Flip Champs, and Ninjamurai. Another week of PSN passes by, and next week blesses us with a LIMBO PS+ discount. Thanks again!

  • If anyone wants to know when BTTF episode 5 is coming ask Telltale games they can tell you when.

  • free stuff for plus. :)

  • well im just glad i played the catherine demo before buying it cuz i’ll be crossing that game off my list. it was just too boring and the core of the gameplay will be block puzzles? no thanks im not spending 60 bucks for an elaborate puzzle game.

  • wassup Gamers that like FREE stuff

  • *tears*

You all posted the Killzone 3 Little Big Planet 2 pack 1 week early instead of the MotorStorm Apocalypse Minipack you haven’t posted for the last 3+ months that you said you were going to…. finally…..

  • im doing dis frum Wii

  • Loads better with the LBP2 DLC, but I WANT THOSE IF2 AVATARS NEXT WEEK.

Please. InFamous was the main reason I bought a PS3.

  • Yes to adding Golden axe & AC:B !! , NO to the Price of AC:B $39.99 is a little over priced at this point..
PixelJunk Shooter is a no brainer purchase. Get it NOW…
Pac Man;CE is also a top choice at $6.99. Hard Corps is also begging to be downloaded, so is Scott P.
There seems to be a disconnect with what and when sony wants to release as psOne Classic titles, as we see this week we get zero titles, not good sony, not good at all. Where is the original Ape Escape ?
Ok , lets all jump on the Catherine demo all at once, I know I will and whats with the Dead Nation Demo ? I would think wee all have that game by now.
A few avitars, 1 new mini and a slew of over priced Dirt add-on DLC puts a black eye on what is an ok PSN update.
    6/10.
I see Mr. Megamixer gave this update a 0/5… SMH.
The free episode of Back To The Future alone, bumps the score up a knotch, so with that, you again get a Shaq-Fu score..Keep on Gamin.

  • Loving the new homepage graphic for the PlayStation Store update. Just need to add the PS Move, PS Eye, and PS Sharpshooter to make it complete. Looking forward to Limbo next week.

  • thanks for the reply Morgan! i hope you guys bring the PlayStation Rewards (i stand corrected! lol) back… that would really be awesome addition to the Network!! good luck!!

  • Good evening Morgan.
Here are a few titles that I would like to see released as PsOne Classics.
    Ape Escape
    Omega Boast
    Alundra 2
    Wild 9
    Rival Schools
    Bushido Blade 2
    Mr. Driller
    Tobal #2
    WCW Nitro
And my favorite light gun game of all time, Elimental Gearbolt.
Any word on any of these making its way to PSN ?

    • Ahh Tobal #2…memories. I don’t have any info on future PSone classics, but keep your eyes on this space for any updates.

  • Play MOH people!!!!!!!

  • A demo for ‘Shadows of the Damned’ would be cool. Please make one.

  • @155, megamixer is a bit derpy when it comes to his PSN opinions. He is very opinionated and picky for no apparent reason other than a lack of research. Mighty Flip Champs DX alone makes this an amazing publish.

  • soo i ben thinking of getting 3 months of ps plus. idk if i should though that cost close to a whole 20 $ card. hmm i already got close to 1,000 in video games and thats just for like 28 games. i wonder if ps plus is worth it for a guy from the hood and ghetto. would this make me a nerd ? can thugs play many games aswell ?

  • CATHERINE!!!

  • I like this update because it has “Wizardry” in it.

  • i hate the demo of Catherine r.r beacuse is only the demo u_u

  • Hmm.. Nothing special for me but thanks for Golden Axe! Hoping for more good deals next week. :)

  • FINALLY! Sephiroth’s LBP Costume!

    And it took FOREVER!!!

  • not bad but Im still waiting for final fantasy 6

  • I love that Playstation Plus Cake on this week update. How long did that take to get that project done? I love it. Something that was very very cool.

  • Great update.

    Just installed the Catherine demo.

I know this is a bit off topic, but has emulation of digital PSP games been considered for the PS3?

I would LOVE to buy and play Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together but I’d rather play it on my PS3 than on my tiny PSP.

    Thanks Morgan!

    • Interesting thought re PSP Emulation. The closest thing you can find is the upcoming God of Wars: Origins collection which will have both God of War PSP games (Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta) available on one disc on PS3. Trophy support, improved visuals, and such.

Oh and I believe Konami is including Peace Walker in their upcoming Metal Gear Collection they announced.

  • What I would have gotten this week had I still owned a functioning PS3~

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX – Full Game (PlayStation Plus price $4.89)
PlayStation Plus Anniversary Dynamic Theme (Free and exclusive to Plus)
Summertime Static Theme (Free with Plus – a $0.99 value)
    Catherine Demo
MotorStorm Apocalypse Queen of Hearts Event Pack (Free)
    Asura’s Wrath E3 2011 Trailer (FINALLY)

Could’ve been a decent week. Oh well. Them’s the breaks. Emphasis on BREAKs.

  • i was just wondering are we ever going to see jak and daxter come to ps3 with there own hd collection

  • Loving the DC2 avatars! Would love to see a new one though haha
    Nice update!

  • any info when CinemaNow will be out?

  • I’m excited to be able to play Peace Walker in a more glorious form.
But, I’d almost rather have the PS3 and PSP treat PSP games much in the same way that they treat PS1 Classics.

Both run on both systems (one being native of course, and the other emulated), and you can just copy saves and games around as needed.

I’d say that if someone were to give something like this a green light, it’d mean a lot more income for both the platform holder, as well as the publishers and developers.

Not to mention that consumers would suddenly have access to something like 396 more games to play on their PS3 systems.

Now that would be one hell of an update. Even non-PS3 or PSV players could engage in the system’s titles.

    Food for thought.

  • “Bu-bu-but Mega! A price drop is coming soon. Why don’t you suck it up and get a new model on the cheap?”

Well for one, $200 isn’t cheap. For two, that would bring the cost of my PS3 up to $850. For that much money I darn well want a classic 60gb model. And do you want to know why? Because todays PS3s lack…

    PS2 Game Playback via hardware
    PS2 Game Playback via software
    Super Audio CD Playback
Ability to stand the console vertically on its own
Ability to rotate the PS logo on the console
    Ability to install Linux
Ability to turn off the Ticker
    Compact Flash memory slot
    SD Card memory slot
Memory Stick Pro Duo memory slot
    4 USB Ports
    PS3 Gameboot Animation & Jingle (youtube.com/watch?v=kjaABg4aNVc)
Original PS3 start up Animation & Jingle (youtube.com/watch?v=xbfebuBN6SQ)
    Touch Sensitive Power/Eject Buttons
    Blinking LED indicators
HD Playback through Component Video Cables

I wonder what we can look forward to with future PS3 models? Proprietary HDD (*glances at Vita* hmmm…)? Loss of PS1 CD playback? Ability to have more than one account on the console? Internal power supply unit? Skys the limit!

  • Any chance that the Patapon 3 DLC that’s on the Japan and China PSN stores will make it to the US store?.

  • @Megamixer:

I have to agree somewhat as I sympathize greatly with you. I remember buying my sixty gigabyte PlayStation3 the week of release. I still have it actually. Even though a couple of years ago it broke due to cheap thermal paste. However, buy then I could not find another sixty gig in the market anywhere (brand new.) I was forced into getting an eighty gig and by then it was already half the system pretty much. I keep my sixty gig for a number of reasons, and I don’t allow it to go, back to Sony simply because, I do know that they would not send me back “my” system or another sixty gig. Such a shame really. I’d like to believe in the Sony sayin’ that the PlayStation3 can or do, “everything”, but sadly. That is just not true when you compare the present to the past.

    Such a shame, Sony.

  • Great update.. Thanks for the summer sale Sony
So much to download : PJS2, Back to the future bundle, golden axe, Catherine demo, la noires reefer madness, and LBP ‘ final fantasy pack..

  • Are we ever going to see Final Fantasy 6(3) and the rest of Final Fantasy Avatars soon?

  • @Ouren
PS3-PSP game playback would be amazing. Even if it cost a little cash for a USB UMD reader or whatnot. Genesis had the Master System (not a handheld system but still) adapter, SNES had the Super Gameboy, Gamecube had the Gameboy Player… come on Sony. But alas, they’ll want you to rebuy your PSP games like you did for the Go and as we are now with PS2 classics. Then again, North America may not have much to rebuy since according to Capcon (not a typo), SCEA is blocking PSP “HD” Ports that aren’t in compilations.

    @Rorek_IronBlood
That has to hurt. :( Its true PS3 shed a lot of weight early on. The fact that they keep taking out more then they add in is pretty crazy. Since I’ve been through a couple of PS3 deaths I can tell you for certain they do not send back *your* PS3. You get someone elses broken PS3 that they’ve fixed. And a whopping 90 day warranty. All for the low-low price of $150!

  • Great update! I wasn’t planning on getting Pac-Man but I think I will now.

  • hey Morgan any playstation vita news coming soon ?

    • Of course! But that depends on your definition of soon ;) In all seriousness though, we’ll have some great Vita news in the coming months; stay tuned.

  • @megamixer

I actually only specifically meant digital releases with a software emulator.

    0 hardware.

  • @52 Sarinx 77 (did I spell that right?)

I had a similar issue, I downloaded Sonic 2 while it was free and then got the Sonic Birthday Bundle, only to find that when my Plus ended I couldn’t play Sonic 2 even though I had bought it. I tried emailing but I got a weird response about Fallout New Vegas. I called directly and it didn’t take long, I was told within 3-5 business days that my account would be credited with the purchase. Easy Peasy.

  • The cake is the theme is really tempting…. ¬¬

  • Nice update not much for me,but nice n-e-ways. I really would like to know why do you put game on sale then weeks later put out a demo for it. I all most never get a game that i have not played. I like to try the demo first so i know if the game is any good. Just seems like a good idea to have the demo come out first.

  • @Ouren
I’d be for them offering both since many classic (and not-so-classic) PSP games aren’t available on the store. If push came to shove then yeah, digital only would be fine. I’m not so sure hardware would be needed since PSPs can link right up to the PS3 but what can you do…

  • Nice! Looks like that $30 left in my PS Wallet will be spent as soon as I can get to my PS3.

  • Three PSOne Classics that NEED to be released on the PS Store:
    – Enhander
-Tomba (Or Tombi as it is known in Japan)
    -Rollcage

The sequels to the last too would be most welcome to…

  • I tried to make a post asking about Ps1 classics and was told it was too long… and everything I typed was then gone…. what a great blog you’ve all set up here, it almost works part of the time!!!

So here’s a much much shorter version.

We’ve been promised regular PS1 classics. We get one sometimes, but most of the Ps1 game released are not classics, many are games no one ever played on the ps1 to begin with.

Where/how can we find out about if any of the good ps1 games will be coming out in the future? Or has Sony gone back on its promise to provide them on a monthly basis?

There are some great PS1 games already on the PSN, but only in EU regions… why? English is english.

I’ve been buying sony/playstation product since the PS1 came out, but the recent lack of care for customer concerns, as well as the constant ignoring of questions makes me wonder if I should continue to support this company.

Please respond with a useful comment so I know as a customer spending thousands of dollars, my concerns aren’t being ignored completely.

  • can we get some Double Dragon on playstation lol

  • This sale has done major damage to my wallet.

  • Since everyone else is making PSone requests can I too? Okay.

    Suikoden 2!!
