Coming to PSN: Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken

Rocketbirds

After its triple nomination at the 2010 Independent Games Festival, the Rocketbirds universe is finally coming to PS3. The totalitarian Penguin regime has oppressed Albatropolis for too long, but who can bring it down? Maybe Hardboiled Chicken? Oh Please… Of course, Hardboiled Chicken!

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken takes you on a cinematic platform adventure through Albatropolis as you hunt down the Penguin’s corrupt leader, Putzki. Along the way, you’ll have to kill many penguins, solve puzzles, incite revolution, and maybe possibly pilot a few jetpacks.

We’ve had a lot of fun putting Rocketbirds on the PS3. The available power has allowed us to vastly improve on the controls, visuals, and gameplay over the first game. For the visuals, you can look forward to expressive characters and rich, detailed environments. All running at 60fps and 720p.

There’s even an optional stereoscopic 3D mode that also runs at the full 60fps, 720p. This may sound pretty pointless for a non-scrolling platformer, but it looks great. Each screen is modeled in full 3D, and we’ve got just enough scroll, depth, and parallax going on to impress without making you dizzy.

And, in an announcement that has us really excited, we’ll also have a preview demo of “Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken” at the San Diego Comic-Con starting July 21st. For anyone curious about the game, please stop by the PlayStation booth and have a go. If you do play it, let us know what you think at support@rocketbirds.com.

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is scheduled for release on PSN late 2011/early 2012.

  • @46 Stop Coming To The Blog Post Ranting About Cross Game Chat It’s Useless Garbage Umm One Reason Why Playstation Might Not Follow Sux-Box Is Because They Are Competitors And No One Wants To Emulate The Person Or In This Case Company They Are Going Up Agaisnt Go Get One If All You’re Worried About is Cross Game Chat Hope It’s Worth It When The System Craps Out.Write A Letter To Sony Explaining Your Displeasure Instead Of Coming Here To Be The Cross Game Chat Activist

  • Looks awesome.

  • I want this -NOW!

Try a game outside of the FPS genre like maybe for instance…FallOut3, FallOut:NV, Oblivion, Skyrimm. Then after diving into these extensive ONE PLAYER titles tell me you don’t want to talk about it with 6 of your friends at once in cross game chat.

Who would’nt want to brag about taking down a 30ft tall super mutant with a poison dart gun!!!

Us not being able to talk is the same as if they removed the precious lil’ party chat that come with all the cookie cutter shooters that are out now’a’days.

It makes people angry because it in effect the issue comes down to Sony and Devs arguing over who spends funds on the development of this feature, it should be mandatory in gaming today. There is nothing wrong with expecting this.

Quit complaining about complaining. Its truly that opinion that is redundant sir.

Xcrap doesn’r beat Sony in sales because of cross game chat you nitwit. They sell more because their console’s price point is cheaper because it’s garbage. The fact of the matter is most gamers are either cheap or younger and don’t have a steady source of income. Therefore they must be frugal. You’re not too bright if you think this is even a consideration for the majority of comsumers. Now, get back in your cage!!!
