  • Wow. I didn’t think I’d be buying anything with my free PS+ from the “Welcome Back” program. But I’ve been waiting to buy Borderlands GOTY edition at retail for a good price and instead find a GREAT $14.99 download price. To great to pass up. Damn you Sony…you’ve just convinced me to spend more $$$…. Damn you….

  • Pretty good update, with the Mortal Kombat DLC. The only downside is not all of the Dissidia avatars have been released yet. I’ve been wanting the Yuna avatar for a while now. I hope they come out next week!

  • 15$ for Limbo (its 1 year old!) is not fair, should be down by 12$ for regular and 20% less for Plus

  • For you guys wondering why there isn’t just a DLC pack for Borderlands without the main game …

Uhhhh, it’s $19.99, guys. $14.99 with PS+. So what if you already have the disc? With this sale, it’s very slightly more expensive to get the bundle at $19.99 than it is to buy the four DLC items separately at $4.99 each. You can take your disc to GameStop after that if you’re really bummed out about already having the disc.

And if you’re PS+ and like Borderlands or are interested in it, it’s an absolute no-brainer and it’s cheaper than all of the above at $14.99.

I’m not going to call this a gift horse or anything, but I’ve checked its teeth and they’re very nice. And they can’t get any dang whiter.

  • This is so unfair! I hold up on buying the PSN sale games because I wanted to buy limbo. You guys should have said it would be 15$ and 12$ for plus, otherwise I would have picked up the PSN summer sale! Speaking of summer sale, why 1 week, on which part of the whole summer lasts for a week? I can’t buy limbo cause i am .49 dollar short and no I am not gonna put more cash in.

  • I agree with most of you, Sales are pathetic compared to steam and for which they don’t even pay subscription! And not only that, it is over before it even got started!

  • Limbo got an expensive price LOL .. it lasts only 2 hours .. !

  • Has anyone tried to re-download ANGRY BIRDS through there download list to see if gives you a better version now ?…..Just a thought. I don’t have the game but maybe it might link to a new version.

  • Will we be seeing any of the Dissidia Duodecim DLC that was available in other countries? i.e. Squall’s alt. costume that was a preorder bonus for JP and UK and Gilgamesh’s alt. costume available at the Dissidia tournament in JP?

  • @261, yeah people have tried that and they just get the old one.

  • Limbo is a remarkable game, destined to be a classic. It is definitely on the shorter side taking only a few hours to beat depending on one’s pacing, but considering it’s a downloadable title made by Playdead (an independent company founded by just two people, Arnt Jensen & Dino Patti) that’s no surprise.

Well worth the price of admission for such a unique gaming experience, especially if you’re a Plus member and only paying around 11 bucks.

  • Ok, you can get all Bioshock 2 – Add-On Bundle for $10.99.

Now my question is………. Why hasn’t 2k Games lower the price on the first Bioshock game Add-On that is still $9.99, I been waiting for it to drop in price, since it was release years ago. That Add-On (DLC) been on PSN for 2 years I believe now.

Also is there any plans on dropping the price on Siren: Blood Curse. That been out since PS3 launch and its still at high price. Any chance it be down to $20.00 at least for such an old game on PSN.

  • @264

Well that sucks…Sorry for you guys that paid for a busted game.

  • CRASH BASH for ps1 classics PLEASE!

  • Really solid update. I will be picking up Boderlands, I had been meaning to get that game and $14.99 for the game and all the DLC is to good to pass up. I had wanted to get Limbo but $14.99 is a little to much for a game that game out a year ago. As much as I would like to get it I will wait for a bigger discount.

  • Nice deal on Borderlands but already got it on PC so I will pass. Also going to wait for Limbo till a sale. Gave Guerrllia Wars a whirl which doesn’t seem to fit well on the PSP but it decent arcade game. Overall not a bad update this week.

  • Wait why Angry Birds on the list? Was it re-release again, if so is it a better updated version I guess?

  • Seems Sony isn’t going to comment on this Angry Birds scam so I emailed Rovio support, hopefully they’ll do something.

  • So with war.of the lions out this week dose this mean we are finally gone see some.of the back cayalouge of psp games released digitally I still really want to play ffvii crisis core as well as kingdom hearts bbs, star ocean ext

  • Damn! What a great deal on borderlands! :D
And all these sales are AWESOME! I just got Bioshock 1 and 2! So this is perfect! Thank you 2K and Sony :D

Now cut the price for Siren: Blood Curse to $20, and make it $15 for PS+ users :D

  • how about for ps1 games release Brigandine?

  • What ?! Wait ?! Huh ?! …Final Fantasy Tactics ?!/ Limbo ?! Borderlands +Add-on content for $19.99 ?! plus over 18 other games on sale ?!..Seriousy, if any one complains about this update, I will reach throught the Interwebs and smack them.
While im at it, big kudos goes out to the makers of Dead Block, you made a solid game, but really, do we need to have DLC on the 1st day of release ? not good at all.
KOF ’95 & Baseball Stars, are good additions to my game library, Ricochet HD too, I have always wanted to purchase that game.
The game demos are pretty light this week, so are the psOne classics, what a bummer, ( I was expexting to see ) Klonoa released in the psOne section. Oh well, maybe next week.
Again, I must state that some DLC is way over priced. MK RAIN at $4.99, c’mon now , and Bulletstorm & FallOut:NV at $9.99 ? These need to be priced at around $4.99 for me to pick them up.
Tons of discounts, plenty Dlc packs to go around this week.
..All in all, another good week of PSN update, a decent 3.5/5…As always gamers, Keep on gamin.

  • I’m still waiting for Dissidia Avatar updates D:

  • where’s Ro and kristi anyways? they used to answer questions here :(

  • lol I see the troll megamixer is gone for good.

  • Played LIMBO, Dead Block, and Borderlands trials last night.

1.) LIMBO is definitely a game everyone has to try out, it’s a very interesting concept and the puzzles are fun and challenging. My girlfriend was even getting into it and she’s not a gamer at all. I think I’ll hold off on buying it though and wait until a big sale.

2.) Dead Block was pretty good as well. I little too ‘cartooney’ for me but I enjoyed smashing everything to collect wood. I only played solo but I could see it being a tonne of fun once you get more players involved.

2.) Borderlands is amazing, I played the 60min. trial then quickly bought the whole bundle afterwards for $14.99 (although it sucks I had to re-download the 3+ Gigs). I wish I had bought it sooner being as it’s damn fun, but at $14.99 (for PS+ subscribers) for the full game plus all DLC I’m glad I waited!.

  • Limbo was crap.

I particularly liked how most of my deaths in that game were due to my inability to actually see what was on the screen.

  • LIMBO is awesome but def to shorts for 15 dollars even 11.99 or w.e at the discount i played 2 hours yesterday (died alot) and almost beat it….

  • @taylor its designed to be like that for you to jump and be like Crap i didnt see that then do over…if you really cant see it after then then mess with your brightness…because the things that are going to kill you are def obvious…

  • Wanted to buy 1 yr of plus, and the borderlands bundle for the DLC.. but sadly I keep getting the 80023102 error code. I was able to buy undersiege last month and games on steam earlier this month. :(

  • I guess i must get Borderlands and Limbo as i see alot of good post on those two games. THANKS GUYS AND GALS.

  • Hey sony is it any way you could make it where we can have more friends on our friends list, because i have alot of games and i hate to erase a cool dude or gal just to add another cool person.Yea i be having a hard time trying to figure out who to erase.

  • PLEASE ADD MORTAL KOMBAT AVATARS!!!!

  • Great update IMO.

I picked up Borderlands and will be playing that tonight online with a few friends. I will check if there is an expiration date, like others have mentioned. If there is, I will be contacting Sony as well. Would be pretty absurd if it’s a real expiration date, but I’m sure it’s just the fault of whoever adds content to the store.

Limbo is pretty amazing and you can tell a lot of effort went into it. The surprise PS+ discount was the push I needed to pick it up (as it was intended to do).

What is the extra “content” that we should be expecting?

I would like the PS1 Imports discount back, as that’s why I have even bought half of the content that I have.

Also, definitely bring more real games to the import store, not just random stuff nobody has ever heard of. The Rockman PS1 imports are well worth it and I have been buying them back to back. Release 4-6 for us, thanks.

  • I don’t understand why people are tripping out over PS1 releases. Go buy the games. All PS3s play PS1 games. So if you are really hurting, go buy it and leave Sony to their doings. Also, where the hell is Sorcery! Been wanting that game for a while now.

  • I find myself a little annoyed right now.

From about 9 AM – 10:45 or so I have been trying to buy 1 yr of PS+ and borderlands bundle. But I always got error 80032102 (or something like that) your own error code database made it sound like maybe the servers were bogged down, so I tried it every 30 minutes or more.

Well I cant trust the network anymore so I always removed it/re-entered it, well I guess you only allow that a certain amount of times a day, which is BS – its not my fault your security sucks, so now im locked out. Iget a “cant update, check your informat, usage status, and try again in a few days”

REALLY? I entered it correct all 4 or so times, is there anyway to get the lock off so I can hopefully buy what I want? Can I just call Sony or something?

  • @DjNorthSKY Most people that fuss about psOne games coming to PSN, are the ones that want a portable version of those games.
I can say for myself that, I own a pspGo and I love being able to now play Castlevania S.O.T.N, all the crash games and many of the psOne games that are now on PSN, on my Go.
I think sony is doing a good job so fay, but can do way better.I think we all just need to be a little more patient….Keep on Gamin

  • Oh and not all Ps3’s play psOne /Ps2 Games…It’s mostly the original 60 Gig Fat ps3 that play All psOne & Ps2 games.

  • Meh…Add me if you like(same name as posted)..NO i don’t play BlOps(worst CoD ever) so don’t ask!!

  • AND WTF??!! ANGRY BIRDS $3.99??!!! THAT IS FREE ON MY PHONE!! I HAVE 3 DIFFERENT VERSIONS EVEN!! WTF SONY??!! DERP!!

That Borderlands package is an awesome deal. I can’t play FPS games because they give me motion sickness (which STINKS, because Borderlands looks like a great game). The complete package deal with all the DLC is awesome. Please consider doing that with other games in the future!

  • i wish they would bring some old school PC games to the Store. Oregon Trail was one of my favorite games growing up and i remember gunning down countless bison and deciding whether i should cross the river or not. i must have played that gamed 20 times while i was in elementary

another great PC game i would love to see is Carmen San Diego. I remember it being very educational and pretty fun chasing Carmen all over the world trying to figure out where she is by the clues she leaves.

pretty much i want any game that i can play with my wife cause she hates on my PS3 constantly and if i could get her into simple games like Oregan Trail and Carmen San Diego i think she’ll start to like it a little more.

  • Son_of_ghost: gog, steam, D2D may have those, The PS3 is not a PC. So why would it have PC GAMES on it? :S

  • @Faenix1

the PS3 is not a PC? for real? i didnt know that…but PS3 is a gaming console and Oregan Trail and Carmen San Diego are games sooooooo why wouldnt they have it. they have cell phone games like angry birds, plants and zombies, cafe girl, and now quick draw. so why would PS3 have cell phone games, its not a cell phone. and alot of games come out on console as well as PC so why cant they make a console version of the games i want? so the real question is why wouldnt they have PC games on it. i believe they even had counter strike on console before and that started on PC too.

i hope that answered your question…

the PS3 is not a PC? for real, youre a genius, thanks for the update… the thing is PS3 is a gaming console and Oregon Trial and Carmen San Diego are GAMES sooooo why wouldnt they have a PS3 version of it. Sony has been releasing numerous amounts of cell phone games like angry birds, plants vs zombies, and now quick draw and PS3 aint a cell phone just like it aint a PC. not only that but most games that come to PS3 have a PC counterpart. and there has been games like counter-strike that orignally started on PC and then got followed by a console version. so the real question is why wouldnt they have it and not why would they…

    hope i answered your question…
