Role-playing fans are in for a treat this week when Dragon Age: Origins arrives as a digital download on PSN, followed by a kill team 40,000 strong and a modern refresh of the classic coin-op shooter Galaga.

The lightning-fast sword-fighting that makes up Bleach: Soul Resurrección brings its anime action to the PS3. The Drop is coming in hot!

PlayStation Network

Dragon Age: Origins — Dragon Age: Origins is the spiritual successor to BioWare’s critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate, featuring deep character customization and role-playing, morally challenging decisions, tactical party-based combat, and a wealth of gritty, mature sub-plots. It is a dark, heroic fantasy game that combines original storytelling techniques with classic role-playing challenges.

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team (Demo Available) — Jump into the rich world of Warhammer 40,000 in this fast-paced 3rd person action shooter. As one of the Emperor’s Elite Space Marines, you have been sent on a vital mission to assault a gigantic Ork Kroozer headed for an Imperial Forge World. Choose your Space Marine Chapter and weapons class and commence the purging of brutal Orks and vicious Tyranids on board. Team up to form a 2-man Kill Team in same screen co-op mode and benefit from multiple team pickups to help survive the onslaught.

Galaga Legions DX (Demo Available) — The arcade shooter Galaga has captivated players all over the world, and now the legend lives on with Galaga Legions DX.

One Epic Game — Zombies, Aliens, Nuclear wasteland, Fantasy and World War II … finally in one epic game! Become Alpha Dog, as you run, jump, shoot and kill anything that gets in your way in this fact-paced platforming action game! The world can’t save itself, you know!

Monochrome Racing — Screeching tires, the smell of burned rubber, the rush of adrenaline and enemies that are left in the dust — these are the emotions that drive real racers. However there is much more than this in the world of Monochrome Racing — there is the passion for color! Color is everything here, it is what you strive for, in the world where everything is in black and white. Color is your fuel, color gives you speed, color makes you stronger and ultimately makes you the true leader of the monochrome racing world.

PlayStation 3

Bleach: Soul Resurrección — Based on the popular manga/anime series, Bleach: Soul Resurrección depicts the battle between the Soul Reapers and the army of evil Arrancars that threaten the peace of the world. Bleach: Soul Resurrección gives players the sensation of single-handedly destroying an army of monsters and evil spirits with lightning-fast swordfighting action.

Gamers can re-live the experiences of various characters from the anime by closely following the original story. The environments are faithfully reproduced with beautiful cel-shaded 3D models that will satisfy even the most devoted fans. Bleach: Soul Resurrección will give gamers an unparalleled anime action game experience.

Phineas and Ferb: Across The Second Dimension — Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension is a fun-filled platforming and combat game where players can be one of eight characters including Phineas, Ferb or Master P as they use gadgets and combat maneuvers to defeat the evil Dr. D and his minions. In addition, the PS3 version features PlayStation Move’s motion controller compatible gameplay, giving the game a whole new level of fun and dimension.

Dragon Age: Origins is an awesome game, strongly recommended for anyone who likes RPGs and somehow has missed out on it. DA 2 is not as EPIC as Origins, but that’s just my opinion.

@L2K7: haha. Give up or learn Japanese. No one wants to publish PSP games in the west anymore.

July 31st, 4:09 pm

Man, the lack of support for the PSP is making even the 3DS look good. Even without the price drop.

Well, I’ll just take this slower week as a sign of all of the awsome things coming next week/holiday season.

I’ll always wait for you BOF III and IV. One day, one day my PSP will have all of the great PSone games I missed out on. It may even get you too Ehrgeiz.

just so all of you know, its not so much all of sonys fault the psp is getting love, i mean, when a new console is announced why would those publishers try and create games for a product no one will duy in 6 months. once vita comes out im sure more than enough support will be given

PS1 Classics have totally dropped off the map…and it would be a great time for them considering how slow the release schedule has been this summer.

July 31st, 4:19 pm

Wow. What a dead week. I feel bad for PSP users.

@7 I read that BoF IV comes out the 16th.

and no Dungeon Defenders yet again? You have a wallpaper of it and it’s been a year since you said it was “coming soon” and the other console has had it for months. Take your time though, by the time you care to release it, I’ll (and others no doubt) have lost interest and it’ll save me money.

It seems that when yall posted this weeksdrop not all of it was included since there really isn’t anything included in this update. Please recheck the post and try to add some meat and potatoes to this.

PHINEAS & FERB iz gunna be EPIC!!!!! No really, I’m buying it because I have two sons who love them. To be honest so do I. It’s one of the smartest and funniest shows on TV. I recommend it to kids and adults alike. The game looks fun enough and it gives me a few easy trophies.

I would love Square to throw some of their old PSone content onto the Store along with a ton of Themes and Avatars! They really don’t realize what they are missing when it comes to PSN.

Another promising sign that the Playstation Store is actually becoming a digital marketplace, (similiar to steam or direct to drive) where gamers can get retail games without having to put up with those idiots @ Gamestop. Maybe we will see one more day and date digital release of a retail game (please be resistence 3), before the year is out. But in the meantime, keep bringing all those great retail games to the store so that I can download them and say goodbye to gamestop forever.

Oh btw…. since it’s official that the playstation store is trying its hand at offering retail games, can we expect sales or bundles like those found on steam?

How about adding a Youtube link for some gameplay of the featured Minis in future, since they don’t have a demo?

Something like this one for Monochrome racing:

Should take about two or three minutes to find and add to the blog. Gives the devs better exposure and gives gamers a better idea of what they can expect and pay for.

Dragon Age 2 Legacy dlc trophies aren’t syncing. I emailed sony but their solution was to update my ps3’s clock which didn’t work. It’s error 80022D68. I’ve also reported the problem to bioware, but they haven’t suggested a solution yet. Please help!

Wow again this is such a slooooooooow week and it’s getting ridiculous, I was waiting for dungeon defenders and look another week without it. Section 8 was slow to arrive so I am still holding little hope. So I will bide my time for now. BTW what will DA origins cost? Is it the ultimate edition?

Since my comment can’t fit in this huge space I’ll summarize: Stop saying hail mary’s for long shot games to come to PSN | PSP has lost support, but at least they haven’t just taken down PSN for it | WipEout Pulse is half the experience now and has been abandoned despite WipEout 2048 coming soon. Happy to have WipEout HD Fury though! | Dirt 3 DLC kicks ass, but should have been included in the game. Better yet, make Gymkhana DLC since that’s worthless (directed at Codemasters) | A ton of PSOne Classics need to come over from Japan, there’s no excuse that some of the best shooters of all time won’t leave the JP PSN. At least I have a JP account I guess. | Excited for Galaga!

Well considering the Vita can play psp games (from the psn) you wold think Sony would take the time to help devs get games out on the psn, but seeing how they treat the psp i doubt theyll help them even with the Vita coming out soon.

Seriously i think thats what all Psp users want. i mean the psp had some awesome games and the people getting the Vita might not have had that chance to play the psp, or people like me who have a Go would like to play awesome games like Crisis Core, or ps1 classic, or heck since they are doing import ps1 game they should also get some psp import so we can play games like Bleach.

All in all for this update there really isnt much to go by. i do plan on buying bleach (as i am a fan) but other than that nothing seems a bit interesting.

Can’t remember when the last original game for PSP was launched. I think it was like 4 months ago. Dear Sony, if you want the actual PSP users to buy the Vita you should support the platform. This is embarrasing for PSP users. At least give us downloadable versions of Kingdom Hearts BBS and FFVII Crisis Core (if pirates can do it then you can do it too).

@8 jvasq:

Unless every PSP owner buys a Vita day 1, developers still have a much larger audience making games for the PSP than they would on the Vita.

Games will continue to come out for the PSP for a couple years due to the millions that are already in people’s hands. And as mentioned by iTofuMan all PSP PSN games can be played on the Vita.

I bought 2 $20 PSN cards in the hope that you actually cared about the PSone fans and released FFVI on PSN this week, but it seems that you not only don’t care, your continued silence on this matter makes me think of words that I can’t actually say here. I’ll keep my money and save it when it actually drops thank you very much.
