PlayStation Store Update

Grace Chen's Avatar Posted by

VP, PlayStation Network

This week, we help celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Resident Evil with a ton of new releases and specials around the network! Least of which is the release of Resident Evil 4 on PSN. The modern classic has been revamped with a visual upgrade, full Trophy support, and the same harrowing gameplay that helped this title redefine action games. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you’ll also have access to the 50% discount, day 1 for 1 week only, so don’t wait!

While you’re looking at new PSN releases, keep an eye out for Burnout Crash! and Cubixx HD. Burnout Crash! brings the arcade racer’s attention fully focused on, well…the crashes! With the Autolog feature integrated, you’ll have a blast piling up wrecks and comparing them with your friends. On the other hand, there’s Cubixx HD, the beautiful puzzle game that will have you analyzing your tactics in all 3 dimensions. Cubixx HD features 50 levels of arcade action playable in both single player and seven-player co-op.

And as announced in September’s PlayStation Plus outlook, this week marks all new specials including the first thee Resident Evil PS one classics, free for subscribers! New release Cubixx is also 30% off.

Have a look at the look at the full list below, and make sure you drop your feedback in the comments. For more conversation, head over to the Official PlayStation Store Update thread in the PS Community forums, hosted by PSN Community Manager, Morgan Haro.

RE 4 might not have the greatest graphics but still at the price it’s at it is worth it .There’s lots to do and reasons to go back and then go back some more . It’s an awesome game and if you are a Resident Evil fan then there’s no reason to miss this ,and those that have played it (like me) and need a trip down memory lane to reminisce then this is a good way to do it . Next week with CV will be no different .

Also regarding the Platinum trophy issue . Yeah it would have been nice because it would have for sure been one I would have gotten , but it doesn’t detract from the experience .

I have played Resident Evil 4 to death on the gamecube then the ps2. I am going to have to mull over whether it is worth going through again with out Move support and no Platinum (seems odd, but I do not know how trophies are decided).

The discounted price is nice, and this game is a steal at 10$. Just have to debate whether it is worth it to me. I suppose I should see how much of an improvement the HD treatment is.

Quite the nice free haul this month, 3 Resident Evil games. Nice. I may finally make use of my free PS1 classic ‘folder’!

Okay, so finally….FINALLY PS Plus is feeling like a good investment. Just keep up this kind of treatment, and I’l renew it forever…

I’ll be playing RE4 to 100% completion for the THIRD time on the THIRD system…and can’t wait.

It’s a RE party and were all invited. PS+ members are getting the complete RE experience all in 1 week. Thats sick.
Kudos on RE4 being only $19.99, plus 50% off for Plus members, thats a great deal. I have not played the Burnout Crash demo yet, but im guessing the price should be more in league with $15, but I will have to play it first to give final judgement.
Saints Row 2 is a good game, so If your looking for GTA with custom charachters, this may be a great experience for you.
I’m predicting the Street Fighter 3 Theme to sell well at $0.99. Heads up sony, this is the perfect price for all themes.
I swear, Altered Beast was an awesome game when I had it on my Genesis, now however, Huuum. I may still pick it up and add it to my collection though.
Sports fans need to play that NBA 2K12, its that good.
I could have remembered seeing FFVI on this weeks DROP. What happened sony ? This could have put this PSN update through the roof, in any case, im giving this update a heavy 4/5, this is a very solid update sony. great work. Winners this week again are Plus Members. ( is anyone surprised )
As always gamers, Keep On Gamin.

Sony dropped the ball with the RE4 Trophies. No platinums, lots of bronzes, meanwhile I get full 1000GS for the 360 version.. Guess which version I’ll be getting despite the Plus discount?

It’s great to see Resident Evil 4 here, but is it going to get Move support?

RE4 [other platform] Edition was easily one of the best motion controlled games when it was released on [other platform], and it would be great to see Move controls applied here

How about a post on this Network down time?

I mean, we don’t need details, but your (crappy) default troubleshooting messages on a failed connection tell your users to turn stuff off and unplug things as if it’s all our fault. Please post something to acknowledge that it’s actually on your end.

The ps3 and 360 have the same number of archievements-trophies, so we are talking about 12 trophies and you expect to have a plantium for that?
Don’t get me wrong i very much liked if re4 have a plantium but with 30+ trophies but it doesn’t change my mind about getting the game and the fact that the 360 version has 1000 gamescore points for 12 archievements just sounds cheap because no other game offers you that amount of GS for 12 trophies in fact all the arcade capcom games have the same amount of archievements and a total of 200 GS.

I have both systems and the fact that the ps3 version was 50% off for plus was just enough reason to buy it here, and the funny thing about the comments i read of people complaining of re4 trophies its that they have a very low trophie levels so you don’t even are trophie hunters your just complaining because another system another value for that 12 trophies.

And where are the other games..?
We paid 300 dollars to be able to BUY games and download it from psn store and it doesn’t have anything good but 4 or 5 games.
Where is Killzone ?or Black Ops,Modern Warfare, Batman, Guitar Hero, Bleach:Soul Ignition, Marvel vs Capcom 3, GOW 3, any Resistance?
And i know u guys are going to say :”its good, have a lot of games ” or ” they cant do it because the games are too big” but it ist true because u know Infamous 2 are in the pstore (what surprised me) and it have a lot of games but the most are minis or silly games that anyone would buy (or not..)
I am not criticing, only saying that u are making the pstore better but u should do it faster because the are a lot of games that we cant download yet..
