PlayStation Canada is Ready To Party and You’re Invited!

PlayStation Canada Event

Another year, another reason to celebrate here in Canada, and another PlayStation Holiday Event! We had such a tremendous response last year that we couldn’t for one second forget about you. I’d like to invite each and every Canadian PlayStation fan out again this year.

Right around the corner now, our Holiday Event will be taking place on October 12 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Liberty Grand in “The Artifacts Room” in Toronto.

This year has been a big one in terms of great titles launching, and we’ll be giving you exclusive access to play them before they hit retail shelves. No matter what gaming appetite you come with, we will try to appease you, for example:

We can’t forget hardware, and we’re happy to announce that the PlayStation Vita will be there! We’ll also have the 3D Gaming Display, Sony’s new 3D Headset, and much more 3D related products all at your button mashing fingertips.

PlayStation Canada Event

Quite a few third party publishers will also be in attendance showing off their hottest games this holiday season. Activision, Bethesda, Capcom, Disney, Konami, EA, Namco, Sega, THQ, Ubisoft, Warner and many more just to name a few.

I can promise that we’ll have great titles, live music and a solid evening of gaming. So if Wednesday is a good night for you, come on out, invite your friends, your family, your neighbors, everyone! All you have to do is RSVP below through our PlayStation Canada Facebook page below.

  • Thats cool, but sadly i live in Québec….

  • Sounds really interesting guys. However I have to say I’m still disappointed that subway isn’t honouring the UC3 giveaway here in Canada. Oh well at least I’ve got Odin Sphere to keep me company.

  • Always Toronto, how about bringing the show on the road. I heard Edmonton is lovely in winter :p

  • How about going to Edmonton and touring the rest of Canada?

  • Didn’t expect the Vita to be there. I’m assuming just a display unit; if it is a playable unit, it will be like TGS and the lineups will be for hours…

  • @1 – don’t be sad you live in Québec… Québec is mad cool…

  • Why do you guys always do these during the week? People do work you know. :-[

  • Sound like a good time for the hosers eh?

  • Dang it, one day earlier and I would’ve been able to call for the evening off.

Really enjoyed it last year too so I’ll try and find a way to get there.

  • What about the US?

  • NICE!

I loved the event last year, I even got to say hi to Rey!

I think I can even see my shoes in the bottom picture. I was like the fifth guy in line, I was just always against the wall and behind all the other people.

  • Daaang! I was gonna travel from North Bay cause i thought it was reading week at college (a week off), but it turns out reading week is the week AFTER. -.-
So lame haha. I really wanna see that 3D head-mounted display and the Vita. Oh well, i’ll see them when they come out. =D
    Still kinda mad though lol

  • we want payday the heist

  • Why is it on Wednesday and not during the weekend. If it was on Saturday or Sunday, I could have been there…

  • Don’t forget about western Canada. I mean, if Vancouver is good enough to host the Olympics, I’m sure we can host Sony as well. And I promise we won’t start any riots over the latest NHL games!…well…I promise *I* won’t start any riots. I don’t really play sports games…

  • What the heck is a canada?

  • Who care about Canada? It’s the US little sister.

  • I AM HONORED THAT THE PS VITA WILL BE WITH IN 100 OR SO MILES OF MY HOUSE.
PS I LIVE IN BUFFALO N.Y.

  • What about Atlantic Canada! Maybe someday I’ll make it to Toronto…

  • Awesome! I attended last year’s Holiday Event and I can truly say it was amazing. Hope I get a chance to come again this year. Thanks for doing this kind of stuff for Canada!

  • to be honest, i gave up on being treated with respect. canadas always tossed aside the whole year we pay for netflix and what do we get about a third of the content and worse is that on ps3 it shows u all the shows u cant watch. the states has amillion services. i cant even get psn cards most times cuz, i cant put 20 towards psn just for a 5-10 game which is always the case smh. psn in canada really isnt nothing compared to the xbox live. and i know cuz i have both consoles. i hate xbox tho and never play it really. but sad, and whats up with the shaking colours/ imaging on the ps3 when using standard definition. when i play the xbox standard definition it looks alot better then even uncharted cuz the ugly shaking images etc, ps1 had it enough. only thing i have to say is try and fix that please. and what u need on ps2 classics is Dark Cloud 1 & 2 since i cant play the discs no more cuz my old ps3 graphics chip wasnt good and started freezing images smh. nothing but downers though from u guys. i had to trade all my ps3 games just to get a system back. now nothing to play either, but uncharted which i had to get the code from 24 hours of askin nice youtube users who felt sorry for canadians getting bashed all the time

  • Wish I lived even remotely close :S

  • It gets pretty annoying when “Coming to Canada” always means “Coming to Toronto, and maybe Vancouver.” All the other cities miss out on so many good events.

  • Thanks for doing this guys, really appreciate it.. but I was sad to find out its on a Wednesday :/ If it was on the weekend would def have been there…

  • @Teflon02 – Your gripes with the service on netfilx is the fault of netflix, not Sony. There’s a lot of legal stuff in the way when dealing with that kind of content (Canadians have much different laws on media and copyright than US) and thus there’s huge hurtles to overcome when trying to bring content over. Again, this is a legal issue of which Netflix is the sole involved party, the fact that PS3 plays Netflix is the only affiliation with the company.

Your preference in online services again, isn’t Sony’s fault. I’m completely fine with my PSN experience and prefer to purchase a good amount of download titles on that over my 360 and live. Your PSN card statement is crazy. I live near a small town and I can name at least 6 stores there that all carry PSN cards right besides XBL card and cards for a bazzlion other online services.

  • @Teflon02 – Part 2

The shaking image thing in SD is not something I (or anyone I know) have experienced. I played my PS3 for a good 2 years before upgrading to an HDTV and have used my PS3 on other’s SD TVs without error. Try your cables, it’s possible you have a bad cable and or input on your TV.

Having your console crap out on you if never fun, but it’s one of those things that happens. Holding a grudge because of it isn’t going to get you anywhere.

I stand, a proud PS3 owned since early 07, my 60gb original still kicking strong and without issues with their services in Canada. You seem to have a different view, but I feel it’s got a weak base on which it stands.

  • Next year come to Vancouver. The game industry is huge out here.

  • i want to go but I have to work next Wednesday :(

    Only live 2 hours away

  • Hey Ashley, have you guys ever considered holding an event in Montreal?

  • I hope everyone in the east has tons of fun with this, but it’d be really fantastic if you guys could throw Vancouver a bone.

  • Why Facebook? Why can’t you use some other social media? I closed my Facebook 2 years ago…..any hoo, reactivated my facebook just for this event!!!! See you there!

  • How early should I come to the event? Just to avoid a longggg queue.

  • Vancouver next? Much nicer this time of year…

  • Would love if a PlayStation event happened in Vancouver! we have big developers and big gaming community here also!

  • Yes Toronto I lucked out on this one. Gona RSVP. This news would be perfect if they also announce from now on they will see to it Canadian releases get inside case art like the US. A bilingual cover is no reason to subtract from the overall presentation of a game. like really c’mon

  • YES! I live in toronto! this is my chance :))

  • Moved to Toronto from the Caribbean a few months ago. Always hoped to attend one of these events.
This event is on the day I move to my new house….Joy…

    :(

  • I’d go, but I live in British Columbia. Come to Vancouver at some point please.

  • I’m in the US but sounds cool. I hope we get LOTS of footage from the event, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hook us up with a release date of the Vita over here. I have been foaming at the mouth for so long I’m practically drowning here.

  • @MeccaFlare0 – it would be nice if Sony would do the same as some of the third party developers and simply shrink wrap a bilingual cover and french manual to the outside of the US package. I know Rockstar and EA games have both done this.

In my opinion, a bilingual sticker and a link to a PDF of the french manual would suffice but i don’t make the back-assward language laws around here…

  • Eh? Aboot? Maple Syrup?

    [DELETED] Canada.

  • Is there any other way to RSVP for those who aren’t on Facebook?

  • Is there an admission fee?

  • Play-Stay-Tion? Where do I put the maple syrup?

  • i wish i could go but i live in the US. i do have relatives there though. i hope the change the date maybe the weekend
