PlayStation Store Update

Hi Everyone –
This week sees the release of PSN Game Scarygirl. PS mini aficionados will be the first tell you about the magial, creepy-yet-cute world of Scarygirl with the first release which hit earlier last year. Now, this beautiful platformer series sees a new adventure in which Scarygirl must go on a journey to determine who the man haunting her dreams is. Based on the original graphic novel by Nathan Jurevicius, Scarygirl delivers a combination of fantastically unique visuals and classic side-scrolling gameplay.

Expect more from the PS3 Full Games category with new releases Duke Nukem Forever and Mortal Kombat hitting PlayStation Network today. In case you needed an introduction to these two pillars in gaming, Duke Nukem Forever marks the return of the FPS’s most tongue-in-cheek hero. Fight aliens and enjoy the one-of-a-kind humor that only playing a Duke Nukem game can bring.

Mortal Kombat also brings M-rated fun. Hailed as one of the best entries in the MK series, this entry sports great multiplayer (as always, play online free over PSN), and also contains a great new take on single player story telling in fighting games. And yes, this is the full PS3 version which contains Kratos as a playabe character.

  • Wow, not one response. They must be busy today, or just didn’t feel like putting up with the complaints.

  • No trophies on the LBP2 DLC level set? Gonna have to pass on that.

Gonna have to pass on most of that LBP2 content, come to think of it. You gotta look at your pricing, guys. Ridiculous.

  • I Never do this but this weeks Store Update was pathetic.
(I’m not a PS+ Member, Nor will I ever be)

Also, there is excuse for not adding at least one PS1 game per week
And bring back the PS1 sales ($2.99) – I bought all of the half price PS1 games and I am willing to do it again.

  • No comment, why no KILLZONE? Poor!

  • @neuroned

Stop with the FUD. Duke Nukem Forever is retailing for the same price it is in the PS Store.
    http://www.ebgames.com/ps3/games/duke-nukem-forever/84186

And that goes for the rest of people who clearly don’t know how retail works. Comments like “it goes for $10 if you find a sale” are pretty self explanatory in themselves. The digital version isn’t on sale yet like some stores are doing the physical version (since this version has been out longer).

  • I’d like everyone complaining about no Killzone on PS2Classics to post where on the PSBlog or other Sony-affiliated site it was ever declared that it would be released, without a doubt, on January 24th. It wasn’t in The Drop so you couldn’t have gotten your info from there, and I haven’t seen anything mentioned about it in any of the other release posts I’ve read here. Sounds like a bunch of people read people saying that people said on this *other* site that it would be released, then come to the official site to complain when the baseless info they got was wrong. If anyone can post actual proof that it was supposed to come out today, then I’ll stop taking you all for whining blowhards.

Also, very weak update. I’ll be grabbing the Scarygirl demo, though.

  • @ AizawaYuuichi
I think this should suffice as proof of intended release date
    http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/01/11/killzone-1-rated-for-playstation-3.aspx

    or maybe this:
    https://twitter.com/#!/KillzoneDotCom/status/157760551706046465

No, it wasn’t on PSBlog, but “confirmed by sony” in the game informer article, and the tweet from the official KZ twitter is proof enough for most

  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Mediterranean Map Pack Owned. Worth every penny. Was waiting on this. Just like the Ancestors pack. Just as greater./ Looking forward for more DLC.

The maps are much clearer and cleaner than the old maps they was ripped from on AC Brotherhood. And the new lvls are well detailed.

    Impressive.

  • I am still puzzled as to why Motorstorm Apocalypse is still 59.99 on the PS Store. I guarantee if it was 19.99 or even 29.99 you would make a hell of a lot more profit. I still own the Hong Kong version which I immediately ordered when I found out the game was going to be delayed in America after something that happened in Japan (which I still can’t wrap my head around). I would like to own the US version so I can use the DLC but I am not going to pay full retail price for an 8 month old game, especially when you don’t even have to put it on a disc.

  • @99

I think the LBP dlc is actually fairly priced because of the amount of content you get. What gets me is 3.99 for alternate costumes for 4 characters for umvc3. That translates to $1 per character, so an extra 50 bucks on top of the 40 the game costs. Capcom is the worst when it comes to DLC prices.

  • Got one question dunno if u guys can answer…If I’m already Plus but I got something like 5 months left…if I bought the 1 year subscription again….the 1 year subscription will be added to my 5 months= 1 year and 5 months left?…..Thanks.

  • Also LBP2 muppets level kit is mine…everything that comes from LBP is beyond awesome…MM is amazing.Saw the trailer and look very very fun….Will always be supporting MM.

  • @Walmosca: Yup! Any additional PS+ time you add/purchase gets added on to your current subscription.

Like a number of other posters, I’m disappointed that the Capcom Super Pack can’t be purchased if we already own something in the bundle. I’m also saddened by the lack of new PS1 and PS2 classics for sale.

  • to AizawaYuuichi here are the links from the play station forum a community moderator and from the developers of kill zone basically stating that the game was supposed to come out yesterday with the update

    http://community.us.playstation.com/message/37308069#37308069

https://twitter.com/#!/KillzoneDotComx and look for info on the release of kill zone

now i trusted these up until yesterday but ill just have to wait along with everyone else who is disappointed

  • ok the twitter link isnt working but there is reliable information there atleast the first link works

  • Does anyone know if the Capcom Super Pack is good ? Are any of the games fun ? How many have trophies ? I don’t have any of those games and was wondering if any of the games are worth 12.50…. or are they weak games that no one likes to begin with…. Thanks for any info

  • Can we PLEASE get the Ash and Marona DLC for Disgaea 4?

  • does anyone know if the old Mini “SHIFT Extended” will ever return in the Store? the devolpers filed for bankruptcy months ago, and no one else took it for re-release.

  • Is cool:)

  • Wow all those games for only $12?
“This content can not be accessed on your account”
    What a tease…..

  • I’ll just get QORE and perhaps the Darkness II Demo…

Where’s the Sonic Generations DLC? I’ve seen it since a long time in other PSN stores.

  • when will we see some new ps2 games added..

  • Wow Sony I bet you’re the kid everyone picks last in Dodgeball because you always drop the ball. I guess they’re diverting too much staff & resources to that steaming pile of elephant dung they call “The Tester” and the Vita which will probably go the way of the PSP. Idk what’s going on with Sony but they’re obviously too busy licking Capcom’s boots to care.

  • I also can’t buy the Capcom deal which is frustrating. One of the first PSN games I bought as 1942… Now I can’t get this deal because I already gave them money for 1942? That is annoying. I hope they figure out a solution for this and can hope they can find a way to make bundles like this show up separately so you can purchase it (or a way for a user to deauthorize a purchase like my old 1942 purchase) so I could get this again…

  • Do people honestly buy Little Big Planet 2 dlc? Little Big Planet 1&2 were a couple of my fav. games, but there is no way in heck I would buy that dlc and will no longer support the developer for gouging their customers. It should be 5 costume packs for $5. $5 for 4 costumes is completely disgusting. I still believe that all they should be worth is 10 cents a piece, but them selling them for 25 cents would be reasonable, not $2. I can’t believe people would support this.

  • @Morgan Haro: “Response from the Store Team: “If any user bought one piece of the bundle they are unable to see the bundle. This is by design.””

lolwut? How (or why) is that by design? Really sucks that you can’t take advantage of the offer if you supported Capcom by previously buying one of the games.

Seems more like badly engineered store logic to me.

  • Im itching for some payday DLC.

  • So how about that 50% discount on all things Final Fantasy like the EU store is getting this week. When are we gonna be seeing that deal here in the U.S. ?????????? Inquiring minds wanna know!!

  • @ 126… So this is why I don’t see the PS+ offer… whew, and I thought PSN just hated the latin american community.

  • I’ll post here as well, since the Official PSN Store Update Thread seems to be getting no response (Which, I thought, was where you preferred these types of questions to be posted)

    Morgan,

In response to your post on the PS Blog, “This is by design” is not an acceptable answer. I spent $15 dollars to purchase Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix at release. Now it seems that since I gave Sony and Capcom that money, I can’t take advantage of a package that is being offered to me even though I paid money to Sony to be eligible for it. Best of all, the reason why I can’t is because it’s “by design”… What does that even mean? You folks found a way to figure this out with the Penny Arcade Bundle, why are you brushing this issue aside? This is a fine deal for the six games in the Bundle that I don’t own, and I want to give you money for it. Seems like Sony is putting more emphasis on new customers than loyal, existing customers in this situation. I hope that is not the case.

    • Hey there, after recieving the feedback on this, we’ve decided to remove this restriction. All Plus subs should now have access to this bundle, regardless on whether or not they have downloaded content in the pack already.

    • Hey there, responded to the forum post you made; but want to post here as well, but this decision to restrict access to the pack has been removed. Very sorry for the inconvenience, but please try this download again if you’d like to get in on the sale. Again, apologies for the inconvenience.

    • We agree; and very sorry for the inconvenience. After recieving the feedback on this, we’ve decided to remove this restriction. All Plus subs should now have access to this bundle, regardless on whether or not they have downloaded content in the pack already.

  • I also find it odd and disappointing that those that have supported Capcom in the past can’t take advantage of a deal on Capcom games.

Only those that have never bought a Capcom game on the PSN store get a great deal. Seems a little backwards.

If someone has bought one of the Capcom games in the bundle why not make the others available separately for $2/each? Then everyone wins.

  • Not killzone as PS2 classic… but Patapon+LocoRoco Dual pack is nice.. i’m getting this pack when Vita come to my hands! Nice Update this week..

  • Puzzle Fighter was the first game I ever bought on the PSN. Way back in 2007, I believe. That purchase now prevents me from buying the Capcom bundle? Cute. What’s next? Buying a game, will make you ineligible to buy DLC for it? :)

  • Great Work Morgan and team! You rock!! Great costumer service. Sony needs to give you a raise! XD.

    now….

Can you please get them to fix the first Street Fighter Costume pack DLC bundle? It does the same thing. I have read all over the net others having same issue too. You buy 1 or more of the pack, it locks you out of the bundle.
I own all the DLC except the first pack. Not gonna pay 28 USD for the costumes when they went on sale 2x for 4.99. Need street fighter complete. XD.

  • Now just have to get off work so I can check. Was it the whole “can not access on your account glitch” or just this bundle that was fixed?

    • Bundle was set so that if you had any of the games in the collection, you could not purchase it. After the feedback, we removed that stipulation from the bundle. Thanks to all who voiced their opinion on this one!

  • So has anyone heard about what is going on with Killzone 1? Is it coming out next tuesday? is it coming out at all?

  • Also, for the people saying that the Littlebigplanet 2 DLC doesn’t come with trophies… check the actual site… they say it contains trophies… if you were contemplating on whether to buy it, you obviously play LBP2 and could have checked your Trophy collection or your friends could have mentioned it to you since they’re all about LBP2. I stopped buying LittleBigPlanet DLC (very little in fact) when it just got boring after awhile. Costumes… they do nothing. They’re just there to show you have money to spend. They’re not really anything special, and I realized that. I know a friend of mine who keeps buying LittleBigPlanet DLC and has all of it and he says it got dumb after awhile… I was a big fan of Littlebigplanet 1 and 2 but then it just wore off. I’m glad MM is stepping away from it. They made a smart choice.

  • If anyone missed it, the Capcom bundle is available for Plus members now, even if you’ve purchased any of the games in it already. http://community.us.playstation.com/message/37343688#37343688

  • Ok, the Capcom Bundle works.

    But…

Super Street Fighter IV: Complete Alternate Pack

Is still locked if you bought any DLC from it. Fix this and you’d have alot more buyers too. I am not alone either. Everytime you had the sale for 4.99 several costumers mentioned the lock out on the blog.

Please, please, Morgan… wave that “Magic Sony Wand” 28 USD for all is silly. The bundle not on sale is 14.99. Missed the 4.99 sale 2x. Own all the DLC except this pack.

    Thank you.

Loyal Sony fan since PS1 “If you still want a Saturn your head is in Uranus” fan. Anyone remeber that ad? XD.

  • No PS1 downloadable games for the 2nd week in a row? That sucks!

  • lolcapcom, you’ll not be getting my money any time soon.

  • so what is the free game of the month on psn Plus ? is there one ?

    • Back To the Future – The Full Series, along with the SYphon Filter PS one Classics and some other gems. on 2/6 we’ll announce next month’s free games and discounts. I think you’l be in for a pleasant surprise =)

  • I really need some help!

Since yesterday I’ve been trying to buy the Capcom Super Pack but I can’t find it. I see all the updates but not this one, I haven’t buy any of the games incluided; so, I don’t think is that.

Anyone out there with some advice?

  • Yeah! In the “New on PlayStation Plus” section, the “Disscounts” one also; in the “Last Chance” too and nothing.

Any other way I can access to it?

    • Just checked the Store. You can find it under the New Release section in PlayStation Plus, as well as using the Search tool and search ‘Capcom Super’. It will be the first result.

  • Sorry!

But where’s Killzone 1 ? they said on Twitter it will be hitting the US PSN Store in January 24th!

    here’s the tweet below:

    http://i.imgur.com/3XlNA.png

I was looking to it :(.

  • sony y u no comment on killzone1 comments?

  • Seriously what is happening with Killzone?

  • @ Morgan Haro and AstralBlades – Thank you guys.

  • So why hasn’t Killzone been released yet, after hearing from many sources including an admin from PS Blog?

Delays? Next week? No explanation? Nothing?

  • Is anyone else having problems with Wolf of the Battlefield from the Capcom Bundle? When I tried to play it, it needed an update so I downloaded and installed the update. Instead of the game starting my screen goes black and the controller is unresponsive. I restarted my ps3 and the same thing happens every time I try to play it.
