Don’t want to be a jerk but this headset thing really needs to be fixed. Been way too long.
After 4.10 update started getting crackling/hissing and hearing myself through the headphones. I can even hear myself tapping the buttons.
I understand that hearing yourself is beneficial so you aren’t screaming all the time, but some of us would like that to be optional. I record music a lot so I’m used to hearing myself and can pick it up instantly – some of my friends didn’t notice until I pointed it out to them. For me it takes away from the game.
The one thing I noticed is that in the Accessory Settings Menu (specifically for Audio Device Settings), you are not able to change the microphone volume or the output device. This to me is a HUGE part of the simple (maybe it isn’t, I’m not an expert but I am a programmer) fix that is simply allowing people to toggle these options. My question is – why give us these options if you are going to lock them? It makes no sense.
As other people have said, it happens in online games only, but it’s different in every game. NFL Blitz, for example, has it happen all the time, while for Uncharted 3 it only happens in the multiplayer part of the game.
I don’t mean to be redundant, just trying to help in any way I can by posting the most information possible about this, so that it can be fixed.
Tried resyncing and resetting the headphones, resetting system settings to default everything.
4.11 update comes around – just to clarify NO CHANGE in this issue after the 4.11 update.
Tried the resetting again to no avail.

I just beat Journey… and WOW. That has to be the best PSN game ever made. So much emotion… fantastic art direction, and wonderful online play. This is the best gaming experience of 2012 hands-down, and it’s only the 1st quarter. Thanks so much, thatgamecompany, for making this work of art!
