Set to release in Spring 2012 is VEEMEE’s post-apocalyptic shooter No Man’s Land – arguably PlayStation Home’s most ambitious title yet, offering gamers the most advancing shooter experience the platform has ever seen. And coming this summer is PlayStation Home’s first multiplayer role-playing game, Mercia. Developed by Lockwood Publishing, Mercia transports players into a fantastical world filled with treacherous dungeons, magic spells, and a plethora of weapons and enemies (what’s more – Mercia continually streams content, leading to zero load times while playing!) No Man’s Land (coming Spring 2012)

Hyper-violent, intensely gritty, and absolutely not for the faint-of-heart, No Man’s Land is a post-apocalyptic third-person shooter unlike any other game in the history of PlayStation Home. Race through urban wastelands where chaos and disorder are ever-present, dodging enemy fire and exacting revenge on roaming bands of death-addicted warriors in a world gone mad. • Great update lots of nice items

  • All I can say is wow. Will we be able to use our avatars in Mercia and no mans land

    • Yes, both games use the avatar system. However, certain avatar items will be equipped at load-out in NML (and, I believe, Mercia as well). This is because these games require certain avatar items for full functionality (think: guns, swords). The developers have absolutely done their best to ensure that the need to deliver the best gameplay experience possible has been balanced with the community’s desire to maintain as many avatar customization options as possible. I think you’ll be pleased with the results ;)

  • THIS IS AN AWSOME UPDATE!!!!!! BeST I’ve seen this year. ALSO When can we expect the next update for the Aurora Space?

  • And quick follow up about how much will all three of the games individually cost? I wanna start saving up.

    • Cutthroats and No Man’s Land are both free-to-play with premium upgrades available (enhanced weapons, special costumes, etc). Cost of these upgrades vary wildly, starting around $0.49.

The business model for Mercia has not been finalized yet. What would you like to see? Freemium, a full game available at a set price, or a subscription?

  • no dr dre headphones????

  • The Most EPIC update EVER. Hope there’s more like this

  • im not into playstation home but with an update like this im wondering what and how you guys are gonna integration ps home with ps4

  • if we could only access pshome from our vitas

  • Do we get to keep our Mercia clothing customization for our personal Home use? Are Peavox Labs and other Granzella Spaces being localized for NA? Will we get the Neon Downtown?

    • Mercia is still too early in development to say for certain how the avatar items will work outside of the game itself. We will post more info regarding this as the release date draws closer.

Granzella content is continually being localized for NA. We have no plans as of right now to release the Peakvox Labs space in SCEA, but we will look into the option for you.

  • oops typo i meant to say integrate

  • There isn’t no personal spaces in this update? There wasnt no personal spaces in the last update either. When can we expect some new personal spaces?

    • We have new personal spaces in various stages of development and QA. No release dates to share at this time but we won’t keep you waiting for long ;)

  • nice update i guess adventure district will make up for no VIP space yet

  • why isnt my comment not showing up it nothing bad

  • @Mrsemily there was a personal space available last week…the western space hit stores….and I can’t wait to play the new games coming I’m so excited

  • and i will be getting the companion captain crackers lol

  • This update looks really cool. Keep up the great work! PlayStation Home. Woot!

  • Fantastic update, something I’ve been waiting for since originally following Home. I would personally like a set price for Mercia, but I also understand the ongoing costs associated with keeping a game like that running. I could swallow a subscription if it were reasonable, or maybe a tiered structure for Plus members (maybe something like $10.00 for non-Plus and $5.00 for Plus per month).

    Thanks for the hard work!!

    • Great suggestions. I’ll pass ’em on to Magnus, the Home Business Guru.

Oh, and, you’re very, very welcome!

  • I DON’T WANT TO DIE!!!

Great looking update. After battling out for a couple of hours, take a ride on the Ferris Wheel.

As I have said before, I had thought of something like Home since the Commodore 64 days. And I’ve also imagined my image (avatar) flitting from game to game trying to do the things that I can only dream of (save the world). Hahaha!

Thank you for the news. As I always say, Home just continues to get bigger and better all of the time. Thanks again!

I would love to see a set price on this game… as freemium usually ends up costing more than normal Home games for sale. Whatever they do, I hope it’s not a subscription!!!!!!!!

  • well those games LOOK good.. now hopefully they PLAY good too… like for example a REAL FPS or RPG as oposed to fighting game with rock paper scissors mechanics (that street fighter x tekken game that was on Home)

and hopefully the battle system in Mercia is actually as xomlpex as a retail RPG… i.e multiplayer boss battles can actually be challenging and require strategy as opopsed to the usualy casual gameplay as most Home games (i.e yu could kill every boss just by mashing the melee button and tossing out a heal when/if necessary)

  • Wow. I have to say, Mercia sounds pretty great! I’ve been aching for a multiplayer RPG… never thought Home would be the place to find one. I must admit, Home has been pretty lackluster for me as of late.

Happy to see the silent clown for women though. I might just have to purchase that. :)

  • I have to say I’m very interested in “Mercia” the most of the three. This is more what I was expecting out of home, and have been waiting for. I’m not an active user of Home at the moment, but I will certainly get more involved once this game, and others like it are released.

I’d like to see it be a subscription based game or a one time purchase. It’s hard to say without seeing more, but usually it depends on the game elements involved and how much gameplay can be gotten out of it. If it has fun unique features that people really like, and can come back to day after day and still enjoy months later…I’d be more than willing to pay a monthly fee for that. If there’s less content at first, and is planned to expand with time, then it should be the free-to-play model first, then as the user-base grows (along with the amount of things to do) then it can cross over to a subscription based game.

Thanks for the continued effort to make Home a fun place to visit. All the things I’ve been seeing over the last 6-18months have really peeked my interest. Just make sure it’s top notch, and deploy deploy deploy!!

  • @Locust_Star In response yo your question: ANYTHING BUT SUBSCRIPTION!!!! I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR A MONTHLY FEE. EITHER I DONT PAY ANYTHING OR I PAY ALL OF IT.

  • I’m most interested in Mercia, and I’d like to see a one time cost. Maybe let the first level or so be free to play, so people can try it out? But I’d much rather have all the content unlocked with one set price than a la carte.

  • I love the fact that you continue to push Home’s game ingine! One day… Home should play like GTA, til then,… this will do. Thanks again for the hard work!

  • For future TGI’s, will you announce the end date (if possible)? The Street Fighter X Teken, for example, ended quickly, in my opinion, but an end date announced on the blog, forum, or space description would be helpful in the future.

Those new mini-games look pretty cool! Dead Man’s Land looks pretty interesting.

I like the creative videos involving the live action characters, as well as the Virtual Item Showcases.

    :)

    • You’re right. That was my bad. In the future, we’ll give you more advance notice before pulling down content like TGIs.

  • Keep the games coming. I’m so glad to see that the options and genres are getting more robust. I will play all of them but I am really digging that RPG that Lockwood is working on.

  • Cool update. Been waiting for more games like this to come out. Uncharted 3 space was fun. Can’t wait to try out the No Mans land when it comes out. Well done home update. this weeks rating from BigK is a 9/10.

  • Mercia. Looks. Awesome.

  • When can we expect HOME for PS VITA?

I would probably use HOME more on my VITA than I would at home. The HOME games also would feel right at home on a handheld and is a perfect platform for small microtransaction/freemium games.

  • This is awesome news for Ps Home, keeping it very interesting indeed!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome! Really looking forward to Mercia! I really hope its either freemium or at a set price so I can play with my friends who can’t afford much….

  • so will Home be on the Orbis coming out December of 2013? You know what i am talking about, my guy at sony.jp gave me the scoop today. the next console’s code name is Orbis. so as with the past the psp came first then the ps3. So now it’s the Vita and then the Orbis, The Life Circle if translated from latin. Home on the Orbis will look great because of the GPU in particular, which will be capable of displaying Orbis games at a resolution of up to 4096×2160, which is far in excess of the needs of most current HDTV sets. It’ll also be capable of playing 3D games in 1080p, unlike the present 720p 3D. Looking forward to next next Christmas…..

  • Its been a long time since I Home update got me this excited. Can’t wait to play Mercia! ^_^

  • Oh, this is right up my alley. I love to get booty.

  • The video for No Man’s Land looks excellent! Is this and other upcoming games the result of that Home update last fall?

I have a suggestion for these games, and Home in general. For the player’s profile, instead of it just showing the PS3 controller icon and “PlayStation Home”, the profile should instead show the Home icon and say for example, “PlayStation Home: playing No Man’s Land”, PlayStation Home: in Central Plaza” or “PlayStation Home: playing Salt Shooter”. This would show others in your list just what you’re doing and bring visibility to the great games available on the platform.

    • We’ll have to look into how we would push that info to the XMB. It’s a great idea!

To your question: Client updates starting with 1.5 really brought the Home engine up to where it needed to be in order to deliver these types of game experiences (real-time multiplayer, enhanced physics, etc.) The “new core experience”, which was released this past fall, was primarily content-based as opposed to tools and tech, but it did introduce the questing system and other enhancements that are increasingly being used by game developers. So the answer is “yes” but it’s an evolution that’s been informed by various teams developing different technologies for the platform, not just the team responsible for the Fall update.

  • No Man’s Land and Mercia look pretty interesting to play.

  • Seems to me that a game like No Man’s Land should be its own title outside of home with trophy support, clans, etc… Just seems like a lot of work and potentially being limited by homes shell.

I have to ask though, who made it? I’m amazed the home engine is flexible enough for it.

  • I laugh at people who still say ‘There is nothing to do in Home’

  • What do the coins do i would like to know before i spend $49. How many ranks are there? Is there any more rewards other than the eye patches and skull? Do you get anything for buying coins and using them? please someone help me out before i spend the money if i dont need to.

  • Great looking stuff for sure. Looking forward to No Mans Land. I haven;t been on Homefor a year or so now. (how the time flies!) I’ll have to get on and see whats been new!

  • I do not see the new Obsidian Bladewalker Suit in the Novus Prime store any info/help please?

  • Why Home why more more and more random Home games but no Gran Turismo, GTA, MGS , COD, NFS, BF, Devil may cry, prince of persia, dead space, mass effect, skyrim, burnout public game space??????????????

  • these are easily the best things to come to playstation home yet. I especially cant wait for no mans land and the adventure district. Thanks guys!

  • since Kingdom Hearts 3D isnt getting a Vita version I want to ask you guys at sony to re-release it for the Vita please :) on a card i can use on the vita since you dont wanna put it on the store please :)

  • kool some fun stuff ! sounds good . like the ideas but, when the ps4 comes out is it gonna be compadable with home on the ps3 or should we save are money tell then , ifso will it have something like home.thanks sony

  • very nice update im glad to see they are putting an rpg in home

  • before adding new stuff and just milking our money
how bout working on taking out 1 or 2 of the 3 loading screens, home’s loading speed is worse then ever.

i would like to thank you for replacing the central plaza with a big a$$ MALL, i’m really happy your allowing us to spawn right there at the mall, it’s very convenient, thank you.

Stop with the Make.Believe bull$hit and start Making.$Hit.Happen

  • @Locust_Star Hey, I’m looking forward to playing Mercia, even though RPGs aren’t my thing. Anyways, that, and No Man’s Land are at the top of my list! Anyways, I wanted to make a suggestion. If you guys could recreate the Playstation Loft from the Tester show, and put it into Home as a purchasable estate, that would be awesome. I really hope you read this, and take it into consideration, because I know I would be the first one to buy it! Thanks for making PS Home awesome!

  • looks very interesting!
