Posted by on Apr 30, 2012

Hi Everyone!

It’s been three years since Free Realms first came out, and what better time for a reminder of all the fun to be had in Free Realms than…our third birthday! Yes, that’s right folks – Free Realms officially turned three this weekend. Can you believe it? No? Neither can we! Time flies when you’re having fun!

Like God of War

Hello PlayStation fans! As I mentioned on the 19th, at 8 AM PDT (11 AM EDT) today we’ll be streaming live from Santa Monica Studios, where our team is busy building the next evolution in the franchise. I will be talking with Mr. PlayStation Blog himself, Jeff Rubenstein, about God of War: Ascension and my past experience with the franchise. And of course I will be answering some of the questions from fans on Twitter. As promised, if we read your question live on air, we’ll be reaching out to you (via @PlayStation) so we can send you a signed God of War: Ascension poster.

But wait, there’s more! During our live broadcast, I’ll be sharing the scoop with Jeff, and of course all of you, about our brutal new multiplayer mode. Yes, that’s right.

PlayStation Around The Web: What We Read

Posted by on Apr 29, 2012

Last week, our colleagues invited media from around the world to LA see God of War: Ascension, LittleBigPlanet Karting, and PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale. You’ve likely already read about Battle Royale (if not, see some links below), and hands-on impressions of LBP Karting will show up mid-next week. God of War: Ascension – that’s coming tomorrow.

At 8am Pacific, we’re unveiling the newest God of War live, directly from Santa Monica Studios. You’ll see new game footage, and Game Director Todd Papy will answer reader questions on air. You can watch it here on PlayStation Blog, Facebook, or on our Ustream page. Whichever way works best for you, set your alarm, take an early lunch, or make whatever arrangements you have to. I’ll see you Monday morning.

The PlayStation Recap – Finish Him Edition

Posted by on Apr 28, 2012

I’m getting awfully worked up for this Tuesday, when Mortal Kombat finally emerges on PS Vita and I can begin to decapitate, dismember, and devour Jeff and Rey from the comfort of my desk. Early previews have pointed to a game that’s remarkably faithful to the original PS3 version with all the characters, modes, and speed of its bigger brother. Can’t wait!

In other news this week, BioWare announced that N7 Weekly Challenges for Mass Effect 3 are now live for PSN users, the creator of PS Move interactive mystery Datura revealed a May 8th PSN release, Lightbox Interactive revealed the secrets of its soundtrack (complete with a sample track!) and storyline, Sony Santa Monica revealed Sorcery’s final box art, and PopCap Games outlined Bejeweled 3’s PSN incarnation.

What are you playing this weekend? Anyone planning to pick up the PS Vita version of Mortal Kombat this week?
