PSone Classics

Future Cop L.A.P.D — Los Angeles is not always a nice place. In the 22nd century, criminals overrun the city, and Los Angeles is declared uninhabitable. You take control of a mech (that can transform into a hover bike) and try to clean up the streets. Use flamethrowers, plasma bursts, mini-shockwave mortars, and many other weapons as you battle through eight action packed levels by yourself or with a friend. For those who like a little more strategy, play the Precinct Assault mode, in which both players (you can challenge the machine or another human) start with bases and construct combat units. However, building the units cost points that are earned by destroying the enemy’s equipment. The first to capture the opposition’s base wins the game. With its multiplayer options and a choice of two different games, FUTURE COP: LAPD offers action and excitement for every gamer.

Darkstalkers 3 — Three ancient spirits ruled the Dark World; Jedah, the oldest spirit, was resurrected. In an effort to rule over the Dark World alone, Jedah wants to save all of the dispirited souls. To create his perfect salvation, he calls those with valuable souls to his world so can take control of them. Choose from 18 horror themed characters as they battle in a tournament to the death. Every character has unique combinations and ultra powerful dark force moves. Be warned, though, as the arenas can have positive and negative effects on the fighters. You’ll be mesmerized by the gorgeous, hand drawn animation that brings the action to life. After beating the computer controlled contenders, challenge your friends in the versus mode, and if they fear your superior skills, feel free to handicap the match. Darkstalkers 3 will challenge your skills as you fight to become the ruler of the night.

PlayStation 2 Classics

Red Faction — Featuring a sophisticated physics engine, five fully controllable vehicles, a variety of unique natural environments, and Volition’s proprietary Geo-Mod Technology, Red Faction is one of the most advanced second-generation titles ever released for the PlayStation 2. Geo-Mod technology supports the real time, arbitrary modification of the geometry that makes up the game’s environment. This means that players have the full ability to destroy whatever they want. Just point a weapon at an object or structure and shoot — total destruction always follows.

  • YES!!! Finally Bejeweled 3 on PSN!!
Too long :) So happy right now!

  • Hmmmmmm…I didn’t even know the first Red Faction was on PS2 before. Looking forward to Prototype 2 for sure.

  • Hey look at that…. no Vita support…. AGAIN. You guys have to at least give us SOMETHING. Not just “soon!” which basically tells us “hey we have nothing but I’m sure some 3rd party out there will eventually do something so we’ll just keep saying soon.”

Please, Sony. Give us something. And no, Paint Park doesn’t cut it…. seriously.

  • Darkstalkers 3…Hmmm, that is tempting. Also, another great SNK classic with the Ikari III mini.

  • To add on, just give us a date for something. When will we have PS1 support? April? May? June? 2012 sometime? 2013?! The word “soon” can be interpreted a billion different ways.

  • im first, wow thats a first, more PS2 games plz,,, The Suffering , Mx vs Atv ,,GT4, TOCA 2..just mix em up and get em out,, RED Faction is a good start for my library ,, how about some sony love for takin away QORE from Plus members thanks

  • Nice..getting prototype 2..cant wait to play Dragons Dogma ^-^

  • So I assume The Walking Dead isn’t coming out on psn this tuesday then eh ? Looks like I may just have to get it on steam then unless it just shows up on psn tuesday.

  • @1
Yeah that guy’s right. Bejeweled 3 IS awesome!

  • On the home page of Playstation Store, it has the Ghost Recon Future Soldier Beta ad, and it says “early access” for PS+ members. Does this mean that non-PS+ players will eventually have the chance to play it as well?

  • Does the walking dead game come out tuesday?

  • prototype 2, dragons dogma demo FTW

  • So im guessing the Doctor Who game got canned, or pushed back? wasnt it suppose to come out some time in April? Seeing as how this is the last April update can we get any information about it?

Back on topic nothing for me this week it seems. Nothing for Vita yet again, and no psp to make up for it. Not even information on “if” ps1 support is coming. Or are you guys still playing the “soon” card because i would say its no longer considered soon seeing as how the system has been out for close to 4 months i would think ps1 support was one of the top priority, but i guess Skype and other useless non game apps for a video game system is more important.

  • hey Rey any idea on when a price drop for mortal kombat 9 and mass effect 3 both of these titles are about $35.00 max RETAIL!!!(in U.S.). Also can u guys allow paypal for international customers like myself….And…Dirt 3…it was on the European psn store from last year. Any Feedback will be well appreciated.

  • I remember reading in the begining of this month that saint’s row the third was coming to psn. i was happy since my disc dive broke and i voided my warrenty. so is this just not happening anymore?

  • Will the Dragon’s Dogma demo have online co-op?

  • Darktsalkers 3!!!! Dragon’s Dogma demo is cool too I guess…

  • No PSOne support for Vita is ridiculous.. should be a #1 priority.

  • Future Cop L.A.P.D! Great game, one of my favorite PS1 classics. Wish that they would make a new version of it.

  • YO Rey where the psp classics for the vita at like you know Loco Roco 1,2 Final Fantasy 7 Crisis core, Dj Max Fever the good games man

  • LOL @ all the people that buy Bejeweled 3 because you know it will be free on ps plus very soon. i’m afraid to even buy games anymore because they always do that. also please answer my question about Saint’s Row 3. nobody ever responds to me.

  • @redruM650

WHO SAYS IT’S NOT. MY MONEY IS THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT WILL COME DURING E3!!!!

  • Good having Darkstalkers 3 back. Can’t wait for Legend of Dragoon on May 1st =D
I might check on those demos as well….

  • So… Doctor Who The Eternity Clock was suppose to release this month and we come to the final april release with no news? Kinda angry now, not gonna lie.

  • @MrFoBiA

You can play your PS1 titles on the Vita through Remote Play, I have been doing that since the vita was released. As for official support, looks like we will have to wait till the “Playstation Suite” software is done, from what I have read around the web.

  • @Aeirou

Since when has “The Drop” ever contained every release for the week?

  • Okay Sony, I’m seriously getting SO angry at you. I bought the Vita on DAY ONE. Expecting Skype to be up then, along with PS1 support, and quite a bit more PSP games up, AND REMOTE PLAY THAT WORKS. Now EVERY week since February 22, I get on here, and see what’s happening, and EVERY week we find out all this stuff is coming “soon.” Now seriously, I don’t care if it’s 15 years from now. GIVE, US, A, DATE. You said last week Skype should be up by the end of the month. This is the last update before then, and… NO skype. Come to think of it, there is not a SINGLE Vita app/game/ANYTHING this week. I like my vita, but it needs more. Come on.

  • @duffyboy1986

More reason not to support digital distribution when possible, the prices are months behind retail.

  • @RidleysBox

Since they started doing the Drop. The only things they leave out is DLC, and Sales. whatever is being released game-wise has always been on the drop.

  • When is the walking dead game suppose to come out?

  • Great update, it would be awesome if you could include some of the confirmed DLC on these posts.

  • Ugh, I’ve had a really horrible week this week, thanks to the money suckers they call the bank, so please forgive my irate mood in this post.

Listen, would it kill you guys to give us some information about whether or not we’re getting the features you promised the Vita? Like some progress reports, or at the very least a “After much consideration, we have decided that these features will not be added to the Vita”? I know you guys love sweeping things under the rug and pretending to forget about them, but still, it can wear on people’s patience. I’m still keeping my Vita, it’s served me well so far, but just at least give us an update or saying you’re not giving us those features, just so everyone can shut up about it.

But hey, it’s your device, you botch it up however you want.

  • i read somewhere that it was CONFIRMED that SKYPE was coming for VITA on APRIL 24TH. is this true sony?!?!?!?!?!? please answer!!!

  • Already have Darkstalkers but seeing it put up still isn’t a bad thing. Overall another easily passable week though.

  • So wait, is Zuma and Feeding Frenzy 2 included with Bejeweled 3 on PSN? Or was that a copy and paste from the Bluray version?

  • You know, you guys sell this other thing, it’s called VITA I think?

I love how you have the balls to tell me not to be a jerk. I was sold a $400 device that can’t do half of what it was advertised to do and has the slowest release schedule in history. You’re the jerks.

  • i would like to see some real ps2 classics like grand theft auto and dragon ball z….

  • @supvic

There isn’t even co-op on this game..

On another note, super excited for Dragon’s Dogma demo!

  • Wow talk about a good drop.. 2 ps1 games and a ps2 game, some good demos and full games… even though there still isent any vita updates i gotta say im impressed… cant wait to play dragons dogma and then the real deal.

Id still love to see ps1- ps2 compat for vita
Xenosaga 1,2 and 3 on the psn though

but this is still awsome used to play the future cop and red faction games now i play the newest redfaction games.

  • Getting pretty tired of waiting on Vita news.
I love my Vita but it gets used a lot less lately.
I thought this wasn’t gonna be another PSP scenario?
Please support it asap! Even news is good!
Talk about Sun Flowers at least. I want a release date!

  • Yes please, more Darkstalkers! Red Faction used to be one of my favorite games, until they ruined it as of late.

  • when will ghost recon beta open up to every body

  • Well i am in agreement with most the post about the Vita my has been collecting dust. somthing new please.

  • 2 PS One Classics AND a PS2 Classic? In the same week??? Am I dreaming!?

  • PS1 CLASSICS FOR VITA PLEASE

  • Oh really!!! when i saw bejeweled 3 I thought, well at least something for Vita too…yeah right!! I’m enjoying my PS Vita but should be more enjoyable!!
