PlayStation Store Update

We start off today’s update with the PSN exclusive Datura. Playable with PlayStation Move or your DualShock 3 controller, this adventure will get you immersed into the game’s unique experimental narrative and original way of interaction. Experience the world not only visually but also exploration. In DATURA, the player will experience an incredibly unique scenario. As you play DATURA, you find yourself in a forest.  As you explore this environment, you will be presented with different scenarios in which you have to make a choice, which will determine your end result. It’s an unforgettable journey brought to you by at Plastic (“Linger in Shadows”) and Santa Monica Studio. PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be able to pick this title up at a 20% discount ($7.99 PS Plus price). For more stories and news on Datura, click here.

  • Digital-Big-Boss

    I’ll pass, nothing good

  • Any of the Pixel Junk games going to be playable on Vita?

Also I’d heard via ESRB.org that Red Faction 2 is coming to PS2 Classics

Sorry to sound like a broken record but any update on PSone Classics/more PSP games playable on Vita?

  • What Pixel Junk games do u recommend, i never played one.

    • Monsters is a great one to start with, while Eden is a bit more out there, but it’s a gameplay concept that’s really interesting and not duplicated to this day.

  • Nice Pixel Junk sale!

  • Is only the one Pixeljunk game going to be playable on Vita?

  • One more thing:

-Did that new Frogger game come out just for plus subscribers, when does it release for regular customers?

  • I love the idea of Full Game Trials but dang… I have no space left and so massive for just an hour of playing.

Hopefully the good stuff will be up on May 15th! Like Rock of Ages :D

  • Should have stuck with the NGP name for VIta.
    No Games Portable.

  • Free UC2 DLC? Sweet, Now I may finally be able to play the DLC levels again if more people can access these.

  • Datura looks damn cool, might have to pick that up.

  • oh my gosh wooooooooooow S’ updeta !!!!
put the some avatars ” FFXIII-2 ” at least :D
thanks for the good service :p

  • Megadrixfire_24

nothing good, probably the price drop in the pixeljunk games, but nothing for the vita, we want ps1 support, flash and full psp support!

  • PowerCorruption

Was kind of hoping the PixelJunk Encore add-ons would be discounted too.

  • Fix the sly collection in the ps3 full games.. can’t even view the price or buy..

  • No Avatars of Starhawk
    No PS Vita Arcades
    No Youtube App for Vita
    No Demo of Sourcery
    Epic Fail
    Sony do something!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sooooo Killzone…. PS2 Classics…. Please!

  • Where is my 1 Month Free PS + Subscription when I purchased StarHawk at GameStop? Mind you I also pre-ordered it. You guys had a blog post on all the perks we get if we pre-order and buy from GameStop, but I did not get anything. Please fill me in???

    • This is being looked into now and the Starhawk team is aware. We’ll get you covered, stay tuned for details.

  • Let’s see, a game I already have on disk, no other games I’ve been looking forward to, no Vita games, and no mention whatsoever of any mythical Vita features that Sony may or may not have said they were implementing on the very first day.

Yep, it’s a typical Playstation Store update.

  • wow uncharted 2 Multiplayer dlcs are free now
    cool!

  • Nice! I will get the Pixeljunk 3-in-1 pack for 2.00$.Thanks

    • A note on this, if you’ve purchased any of the games in the bundle before, the bundle won’t show up. But it should still work out since you would only need to buy the 2 games you don’t have which would equal $2.

  • I was just wondering if we will get the Singstar Avatars that they have on the UK Playstation Store.

Also, is the Batman: Arkham City DLC Packs (Robin, Nightwing, Skins) come on sale soon.

also what is the name of the Singstar Songpack?

  • You guys might as well give up on psp support for vita. They just don’t care. So in return I returned my vita back in march and JUST DON’T CARE to own a vita. I said back in feb their wouldn’t be any support and I got attacked left and right from sony fanboy’s ranting its only been out a month and yada yada excuse after excuse and here we are in May and still no support for much of the psp games and ps1 games on vita. Watch it be Dec 2012 and still no support. Its another dam* psp in the making sad to say. I’m glad I never bought in on the sony hype and broken promises and LIES they constantly say and advertise.

  • What are you waiting for released greats apps for the PS Vita!!!!!!!
Change your Certification Program of the PSN content Sony Japan always is late to aprove the content.
Enable Flash Player or Html5 for the PS Vita.
PS Vita needs more arcades games.
Avatars of every exclusive PS Title and dynamic theme when the game comes out.

  • Love the pixeljunk sale! Already got the Uncharted 2 DLC when it was free last fall. Doesn’t really matter because I don’t think you can find a game now.

Can’t wait for Rayman Origins at the end of the month. Would buy it on amazon except the PS3 version is $27. I usually like having it on disc too…

  • Wow…what a great week. I’m thoroughly regretting buying my Vita lately; I just wish there was more to play on it. I mean, in a month I’ll get Gravity Rush, but as soon as I beat that I’ll be back to feeling the same way. We need more content. More games announced, more demos, anything! Get some small PSN games ported to the thing, fill that system with fun $5 games so we can literally “Never Stop Playing”.

Seriously, though, you have a powerful system with real buttons on here, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be trying to get iPhone and Android app guys to be porting their games over to the system.

  • Can someone plz tell me if there is going to be a digital download for max payne 3 or should I pre order a hard copy?

  • I’ll be buying Datura and cleaning up on the Pixel Junk sale!

  • Sweet! Keep up the early update SEN.

  • wow. I just picked up PixelJunk Racers, Monsters, Eden, & Shooter all for just $3! THREE. BUCKS! This is the best deal EVER! Finally got to finish off my PJ collection! Happy 10th anniversary Q-Games!

  • please sony, give us a discont on warriors orochi 3!!!!

  • Just wait until PlayStation Suite comes out of beta. Then the Vita will be amazing. The Vita does have PSP support, just not all the games. I doubt they would go half-way and then just give up forever. Maybe some games need extra time to be re-programmed to be used with the 2nd analog stick?

  • You guys really need to shake your heads and fix your digital pricing. Why should I buy a digital copy of a game that you can disable at any time and it limited to two consoles for full release retail pricing months after it has been out? There is no middle man, no shipping and no packaging.

I can buy the same games for $20-$30 less and own a physical copy which I can use on any of the 3 PS3 in my house (thanks again for taking away more from our consoles).
You corporations don’t seem to realize that the people you are trying to hoodwink support you. There may be a few wild-eyed fans that will buy anything because it says Sony, but the rest of us will just move on somewhere else.

Same reason I won’t buy a Vita (I bought 4 PSPs in the past). I can’t trust your company anymore. There is no telling what will vanish with the next update.

  • Guys, where’s the Vita stuff. Common.

    1st.) Where’s HTML5 support on Vita
2nd.) Where are the apps for Vita ( you would think a PSBlog app would be a no brainer?)
3rd.) WHERE ARE THE GAMES (PSOne support, mini support, just flat out Vita support?)
4rth.) Don’t you dare wait till E3. A drought is not always a good thing. Resistance and Gravity Rush are the only two games on radar. At least give us some easy to make apps for the wait?

  • WERES ALL THE VITA STUFF!!!!!!!!

  • I guess we can just assume that from now until E3 we won’t be seeing much on PSN.

Perhaps someone could explain why Hot Shots Tennis works on the EU store with Vita but the US store doesn’t? Very, very irritating.

  • In the last month, Vita has had 5 games. That includes 3 retail and 2 PSN. In the same time frame, PS3 has had over twenty retail and PSN games on the PS Store. In addition, PS3 in the last month as had 9 demos; Vita has had two. The Vita PS Store is a barren wasteland. We were promised more PSP/minis “in the coming weeks”. That was three months ago. We haven’t heard so much as a whisper. Sony has said multiple times in the past that they don’t want the Vita to be a repeat of the PS3, yet they always designate their triple-A devs to PS3 exclusively, and show little to any interest as of recently towards the system. Over the past few months, Sony has announced three HUGE titles: God of War: Ascension, LittleBigPlanet Karting, and Battle Royale. Of these three titles, all three of them are on their console that is six years old, rather than a system that has been struggling with sales and is brand new. What was the last big title announced for Vita? Unit 13? That was November, and it is absolutely minuscule compared to the enormity of the three recent PS3 titles released.

  • *I meant announced, not “released” in my comment.

  • eying datura

  • Let’s get these PSN games on the Vita:

    – PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap
There’s already one great top-down racer on the system, now let’s expand the genre.

    – Dead Nation with Road of Devastation DLC
Basically a port of the PSN version, but allow for cross-game saves so we can go from slaying zombies on the couch and continue on the road.

I’m sure there’s going to be some exciting announcements of new games for the Vita at E3, but let’s also take a look at what’s already successful on the PSN and bring it on over.

  • @ Elatis Amen man I’m right with ya on that lol. That’s what I’m saying about most people on here with sony. They get all Wild-Eyed and preach everywhere that sony is perfect and NEVER does wrong and that just makes me shake my head so hard. I love my ps3 and all my ps3 games but I had a vita once and just got tired of hardly having stuff worth playing on it and returned it and that overpriced memory stick. I bought a ipod touch and been on it sense for my handheld. It does way more at a cheaper way cheaper price and has thousands of free apps unlike 40 dollar ported and toned down ps3 games.

  • I mean heck if they released a ported version of GT5 on vita and all the Dirt and nascar games that are on ps3 as well and port them to vita then they can throw psp support in the garbage cause GT5 on vita would be a seller for me right there along.

  • another week, still no any adds-on for the Ridge Racer, the Japanese service has already updated the new cars and new circuits. When will the us service update the new adds-on ?!

  • I highly recommend everyone download Pixel Junk Monsters if you haven’t already, such an awesome game and it’s only $1! Great on 2-player co-op too.

  • So portable only owners get one discounted game, and a bunch of DLC. I knew Sony didn’t care about their handhelds, but this just seems ridiculous.

  • Give me Gundam avatars! Port them over from the JP store & I’ll buy every single one!
I suppose that should actually be ‘Sell me Gundam avatars!’.
And here’s a suggestion for August – Transformers avatars to go with Fall of Cybertron.

  • Really excited to try Datura… seem’s very innovative and challenging. Shame I don’t have a Move controller though, but atleast it supports regular controllers! Hope to see a new Vita game or two next week’s update.

  • omg sony you guys making me want to cry. bought a vita at launch thinking i’d get ps1 support soon, my minis would transfer over, and more games would be announced. obviously with e3 around the corner i’ve still got a glimmer of hope, but this drought is just fanning the flames! i mean this is a powerful machine we’ve got here, you really wanna tell us what the holdup is with ps1 support? vita could def handle ports of psn games while you’re at it; or let us use them over remote play. i mean, whats the point of remote play right now… it’s a gimmick, and a weak one at that. AND IF YOU’D JUST TELL US WHAT THE EFF YOU ARE WORKING ON you’d quell many of our souls.

seriously vita is like the starving ethiopan child of gaming right now.

  • So it just the usual on a PSN Update. Cry when it’s not so good cheer when it is and cry that there aren’t enough PSVITA game. Sony launched with more then twenty something PSVITA games with a promise of more to come and people cry every time the PSN update comes around. No one here really cares if this update isn’t anything you want or if you already have the games or if you want this PS1 game or that PS2 game. Even if do get what you want you will be back here crying again about how PSN never has anything the next time the update is not so great. If you are not patient or PSN doesn’t have what you think you want then stop using it. PSN can’t always have something you want. Nothing like PSN on any other system ALWAYS has what everyone wants. I swear gamers these days are like a woman on her period. So stop the crying please. It is really annoying and most people don’t care because sensible people know that PSN can’t always be a bounty of games. Please go cry somewhere else.
